This was our second stay here, first being several years ago. Main reason we returned is for the view while lounging in the pool or sitting having first cup of morning coffee. We are regular annual visitors to the Nosara area and prefer staying up in the hills. Still easy access to the town of Nosara, Playas Pelada and Guiones, plus Playa Garza a very short drive. The grounds are nicely manicured with plenty of wildlife (mostly birds and the occasional Howler sighting) especially in the morning.

Family gathering and missing shoes
We had our family stay in this house. It’s a nice property with an absolute stunning view. Everyone loved the pool and their time there.
Check in was a little bit rough and we dearly wished we would have been warned to put our shoes inside. We were informed that the neighbors dog comes over (?!) but not that he takes and destroys (expensive) shoes. Communication about that was really hard to navigate and not very guest oriented. Another issue with the pool that was unusable for the last days was also not greatly communicated.
Besides that good value.

Great location overlooking ocean
Beautiful property with fantastic views of the ocean. Plenty of room for a group of 6. Pool was essential during the hot days and kept very clean. Rooftop was perfect for stargazing. A/C in rooms made nights great despite 80 degree temps. Would love to return soon!

Playa Pelada
Good security, great location, well supplied kitchen as well as linens and towels, clean, beautiful views of playa pelada and playa guiones.
Owners are accessible and care about their guests. Highly recommend.

Fantastic view, loved the pool, convenient to the Lagarta Lodge restaurant and their awesome sunset.
A little far from the Nosara restaurants down that very bumpy road, but there’s no help for that. I would recommend a car vs. golf cart because of the road dust, but some type of transportation is needed for trips down to the village- not walkable. The house was spacious and accommodated our group easily. Our favorite part of the day was early morning on the porch overlooking the beach, listening to the birds and monkeys, watching the parakeets, hummingbirds, and iguanas.

Terrace rooftop for morning yoga
Our family of 3 young adults and three parents very much enjoyed our stay! We liked being on the hilltop away from the noise and dust. It was about a 20 minute walk, and really hot, to the beach, which is the far end of Playa Pelada requiring a further walk down the beach to the awesomely beautiful La Luna Restaurant. To go there or to Playa Guiones for all of the restaurants/shopping/surfing etc we had to drive.overall the house was spacious and pretty. It could be cleaner and better maintained (tattered screens etc that must have been that way for quite awhile). But other than that it was a really great place.

Amazing view, beach access ,quiet and friendly people
Casa Carolina is such a gem of a place! We are a family of 6 and we were so comfortable. The bungalow is modern and well equipped. If you love cooking, there is nothing missing from the kitchen and the gas grill is fantastic. The water purifier is so amazing. It is well set up for outdoor living. The breeze is great to keep the common area cool and the AC in the bedrooms assured a good night's sleep. We felt very safe with the gates, alarm system and Tiffany who answered our questions. With our golf cart rental from Limo Dan we enjoyed experiencing the bumpy, dusty roads to get our supplies. A totally Nosara experience!! We walked down to the beach many days and had amazing meals at La Luna and Olga's. Totally recommend Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday at El Chivo. We also recommend walking over to Lagarta Lodge to see the sunrise and sunset and to go down to the river to enjoy the fauna and flora. Luis from Guinos Transport took care of our transportation to and from Liberia and other destinations, so professional and friendly. Chris and Tiffany made setting up our vacation so easy and efficient. We are hooked and are planning to be back!

Great House with Amazing views!!
I stayed in this house from February 12th to February 19th 2017. The pictures do not do this house justice as the house is incredible. We had 4 couples, and the house was a perfect size and had more than enough room for everyone. The pool was great and the views of the beach were breathtaking. We rented ATV's for 4 days which i would recommend to anyone who wants a quick way to get around and see the scenery. The only set back we had was brown outs a few times that would last at most around an hour. Also had a problem with water a couple of days so i would just prepare yourself for these things to happen since you are in Costa Rica. Overall great vacation would go back. Thank you Tiffany!

Loved our trip!
We loved staying at La Carolina Lodge! This was our 2nd time visiting and we didn't want to leave! We needed the internet for work and had no problems with it at all! The roof top deck was perfect for watching the sunsets. I was able to catch a couple of naps on the hammock listening to all the birds and other wildlife nearby. You can see playa pelada from the pool that has a long bench in the deep end and infinity edge with great views!! We spent may afternoons in the pool to cool off! Guiones is a short drive away and easy to get to that beach. Many restaurants too! We went out to eat almost every night! Tiffany, the manager of this property was always so helpful and only steps away as she lives across the street! She gave us many great recommendations and told us to contact her with any issues! Fantastic customer service!! We cannot wait to go back and will definitely pick this spot again! Thank you so much Tiffany!!

Great experience!!!
We had a wonderful experience! My family of 10 stayed at this house and it was great! The kitchen was fully stocked. They were kind enough to provide us with a few gallons on water (even though the tap water is drinkable) and a few other things while we we got settled in. Tiffany the very kind lady in charge of the house was awsome and very helpful. This house is a 10 minute walk from the beach. And a 10 minute drive into town in the cool ATVs that you can rent near buy. Over all we were pleased with our experience at this house and we will most definitely stay here again we come back to Costa Rica!

Gorgeous views, secluded without being isolated
We had a wonderful Christmas holiday at Casa Carolina. The home is really nicely apportioned, the beds are comfortable, the ambiance is relaxing--and the pool is the perfect temperature! The sunsets were really amazing and the house is nicely situated where you don't really see or hear the neighbors but instead feel as if you are in nature (with the requisite monkeys and parrots in the trees--we got great photos). However, there are neighbors and the property manager is right across the street, so if you needed anything, help was a minute away.
What we especially liked: the wifi was great (we are a large family--8 kids--so therefore there are a lot of devices using the wifi, and we had no problems); the pool is fantastic with a ledge in the deep end to relax on and far enough away from the bedrooms that those taking a nap don't hear the kids in the pool; the TV had channels that brought us the NFL and NBA games, sometimes even in English, and other English-language channels; the feeling of being in nature; the fact that YOU CAN DRINK THE WATER--yes, straight from the tap.
What you should know: the walk to the beach is not very easily done, especially the return trip, so it's best just to drive; renting ATVs or golf carts is a great idea, but we didn't book in advance and they were all booked by the time we showed up (holiday week); for security, the house has metal grates that you can control to come down and cover the entrances (reminded us a bit of The Purge lol).
A/C and all appliances worked great, hammock is great place for a nap, surfing beach of Playa Guiones (10 min) and boogie boarding beach of Playa Pelada (5 min) easily accessible. Shopping less than 10 min away at Super La Paloma takes care of most needs.

Beautiful Setting and Location, House Could Have Been Better
Positives: Quiet location; views of ocean; bathroom for every bedroom; ample parking; large kitchen; awesome covered portal; beautifully landscaped.
Things we wish had been better, especially at this price point: Bottom line, we just wanted to arrive and relax, immediately. Instead, found ourselves having to clean off dirty countertops, wash dirty wine glasses and silverware (there is no automatic dishwaser); call property manager because none of the four coffee makers worked (kitchen was over stocked with useless items and lacking in the essentials); cutting boards in kitchen were a source of a very bad odor that took a day to discover; no hair dryer (even though one was promised); clothes washing machine was rusted and unusable; the sofa cushions were pretty gross to be honest; no toiletries were provided at all (maybe this is standard but with a dozen Airbnb stays, we've always been provided paper towels, shampoo, and shower and hand soap, at least); rooftop deck chairs were broken and unusable, making one of the selling points of this property useless without having to haul other chairs up the spiral staircase; internet access was intermittent---- and when we texted property manager about it, she did not reply to that concern--- instead, she warned us to stock up on provisions because a tropical storm was coming in. Turned out it was going to be Hurricane Otto--- prediction was for Liberia airport to close, and our family had not arrived yet, so we had to leave after just 50 hours there. We had paid for a full week but were not offered any sort of credit or refund. This may be a "that's life" business decision, but coupled with the above, we just felt this was an unpleasant experience overall. Too bad, too---- we were soooooo excited and had such a positive outlook before arriving !!!!

A beautiful Country that we will visit again!
My family and I loved Costa Rica! It's a beautiful country that we will be visiting again. The house had plenty of room for the the 10 of us and the views were incredible! We rented a golf cart and were able to get around to all the areas that we wanted to visit. The beaches were clean and Miss Sky's Canopy Tour is a must for zip lining! In the house the AC units are only in the bedrooms but there are plenty of doors and windows to open to get a cross breeze through the house. The pool was very refreshing and again had an amazing view. Just wish there was a porch light, when bbqing in the evening, we really couldn't see. The sun was down and it was dark by 6pm and the sun is up by 5am. While in Costa Rica you should remember to watch for scorpions and bugs that sting, the town itself had power "brown outs" but we never lost power for an extended time (maybe a minute or two) and we ran out of water for a day because they were repairing something in the area and we were unaware and used up the reserve tank. The electric and water issue we had was not something that the homeowner could control, it's just something that happens in Costa Rica. We enjoyed the beach, food and refreshing drinks at Olgas Bar, which was about a 5 minute golf cart ride. My family and I had a great time and we look forward to renting Casa Carolina and visiting again!

Excellent property.
Casa Carolina was a great house for our family (7 adults in total), the view is breathtaking, the house was clean, spacious and the beds comfortable with air conditioned bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped though there is no dishwasher, which wasn't a problem. The pool was wonderful, especially after a day at the beach down the hill. The wildlife around the house consisted of many beautiful birds (especially in the morning) and one day a family of howler monkeys hungout in a tree across the road.
The house provided wonderful views as it is situated at the top of a steep hill, so some form of transportation is necessary. While the house is not super close to the beach, it is a great place to return to after a day on one of the three spectacular beaches nearby. We elected to take a minivan charter to and from the airport (2 1/2 hours, often over rough roads) and while we were at the house we rented a gas-powered golf cart from Nosara Fishing tours in Guiones as well as two motorcycles. This made accessing shopping and the beaches much easier and we used Nosara Taxilicious (Roger) for evening trips to local restaurants, all very satisfactory.
Our host, Chris was responsive, provided excellent information and was great to deal with, everything was as expected and he was always easy to communicate with. Many thanks for a great Christmas in Nosara!
We recommend Nosara Taxilicious for prompt and courteous service to and from the airport or anywhere else you might want to go, Roger was terrific.

Fantastic house with beautiful views.
Costa Rica is paradise and this house is in a great location. I spent a week there with friends and enjoyed the activities, shopping and restaurants which are nearby. The house has an amazing view and is very comfortable for 8 people. We had a wonderful time just staying at the house cooking our freshly caught fish, swimming in the pool and enjoying each other. I highly recommend Casa Carolina as your next vacation destination. I’ll be going again, myself, soon.

Great Vacation Spot
House is really nice. Beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean from the upper deck and from the pool area. The pool was very refreshing after a day of adventures. We went deep sea fishing and caught some sailfish and tuna. Also rode four wheeler and did the zip line. We visited numerous local establishments and had lunch, dinner or just an afternoon refreshing drink.
The house had plenty of room especially in the kitchen where more than one person could help prepare the meal. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. We have already made plans to go back and stay again.

Fabulous Vacation
When we arrived the house was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool was fabulous and the view from the house is spectacular. We really loved the location of the house, it was close the everything we needed. There was a grocery store close by so we were able to buy groceries and cook a lot, but we also ate out at several of the fabulous restaurants they have in Nosara. Right down the street is a hotel/restaurant/bar which has a beautiful outside area overlooking the area. It was really cool watching the monkeys in the early morning (you have to catch them early before they go back into the forest). I will definitely be staying here again when I come back. LOVED IT!!!

Wonderful beach house with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean!!
Spent a week there and it was amazing. The house was very well laid out with an in-ground pool. The house has a family room, kitchen, four large bedrooms and three full baths. The views of the Pacific Ocean from the back deck and the roof deck are outstanding. The beach is within walking distance through a beautifully landscaped yard which includes banana trees and tropical flowers. It is without a doubt the nicest beach house in Nosara. I am planning on a return trip this coming February.
