We had a generally good time. Can't beat the location - just steps from both the beach and the downtown Cape May. We felt the house itself could use an update - furniture is old and worn. Kitchen was well done. We enjoyed that there was a heated pool. However, the pool water was not heated. The heating mechanism was not working properly - and although we asked about it on our first day, the technicians to fix the heater did not come until the last day of our vacation. Overall I am happy with our stay. Not sure we would do it again.

Our 1 week stay was great! The house is old but charming. Plenty of parking passes, beach tags and house keys available. Michael communicated with us quickly and was very helpful. Home is equipped with everything we needed (we brought beach chairs but forgot a beach umbrella but there was one there!). We chose to bring our own linens (bath mats, one hand towel per bathroom, and kitchen towels were provided). Parking is about a 7-8 minute walk from the house but easy to get to. Beach is steps away and restaurants and shops as well. Jackson St. is a busy street though so if you want to sleep in, that's difficult. Most of us were up early so not an issue. If you want to sleep in, take a bedroom in the rear of the house as that might be helpful. Curtains are not blackout so bring a sleep mask if that's what you need to get some extra sleep. The Mad Batter restaurant is next door and you can put your name on the list and get a pager and then sit on the porch and wait for the pager to go off when your table is ready! Pool is small but nice to have for those who felt the beach water was too cold. Only suggestion I would have is to organize the kitchen and laundry bar area...there are so many appliances, kitchen gadgets/tools that either the bed and breakfast had or that people have left over the years that we had to dig through the drawers. But definitely helpful when the house is full of guests. I'm a little OCD so might just be me. There were board games and card games available.

Beautiful house next to the beach
This house fit our large group. The house itself is very beautiful and just steps to the beach. Also close to the main strip of Cape May and all of the bars and restaurants in town. Host was communicative and easy to work with. Multiple common room spaces, including front porch and balcony with ocean views. Pool is bigger than it looks!

Weekend getaway
The house was perfect for our group! It was beautifully decorated and had plenty of space for a large group. The owner was very communicative and left helpful instructions out for our stay. You could even see the ocean from the upstairs balcony and are right next to one of the best breakfast spots in town! Highly recommend!

Can't beat the location or the space
Clean, beautiful property. Spacious... plenty of room for multiple families to spread out and come together. Location absolutely cannot be beat... walk to everything and steps from the beach. The new pool is more of a plunge pool - great for small children but don't expect a large pool for playing around or diving or anything like that. Street is bustling... lots of morning noise with deliveries to the restaurants and trash pick-ups, etc... but we are all morning people and have kids up at the crack of dawn anyway so it didn't bother us. Michael, the host, is super easy to work with and fast to respond on everything. We had the worst weather over Memorial Day weekend so that was the only bummer... wouldn't hesitate to rent here again and hope to be able to next year as long as the sun comes out!

Five + Stars - Amazing Location and Beautiful Home!
We had booked our stay for 2020 but the pandemic hit and Michael (the owner) was going to refund us but we decided move it to 2021. Here is the crazy thing— he and his family have been living there since the fall and they completely moved out for our short stay (we didn’t even know this until we checked out)! House was super clean, kitchen had everything we needed. Location, location, location! I don’t think you could be in a better location. We are booking this house again this summer— in a block radius you have over 15 restaurants and bars plus the mall is a 1/2 block away, Congress Hall is around the corner and the beach is a couple steps away. Not everything was open when we were down but we ended up spending most of the time in the house. Oh and pool! The pool is almost finished (we knew in advance the backyard was going to be in disarray which didn’t bother us). We did check out the backyard for the noise and I’m pretty sure that any “noise” will be coming from families enjoying themselves in the pool. Needless to say, this house is awesome and we are coming back this summer with a couple families— we can’t wait!!

This is a nice, clean, well-equipped house and we very much enjoyed our stay. Michael was responsive and helpful. It is a very busy, loud street but close to beach and everything else. Our only issue was with the back yard. The noise and smell from the restaurant next store and the noise from air conditioning units on adjacent buildings made it unpleasant to spend time on the back porch or backyard. This is no fault of the property owners but an unfortunate fact.

This was the perfect house for our family trip with 22 people! The location was just a short walk to the beach and the shops. The front porch was great to watch the carriage rides go by and the back yard has two giant tables that fit everyone perfectly. Such a wonderful trip!!

Great place for family reunion!
Everyone enjoyed the neighborhood and the house. It was close to everything and everywhere. Could be a bit noisy at night due to its central location, but that was easily remedied by earplugs! The house was charming and well equipped for cooking and feeding great numbers of people. Beds were comfy. A few repairs needed that happen with an old house. Charming back garden and grill. Close to beach. Perfect family rendezvous. We’d come here again!

Victorian rental
This house has many bedrooms and bathrooms. There are two living rooms, a large dining room and well stocked kitchen.
There is a nice size backyard with a grill and two large tables to accommodate a large group.
We had a group of 20 who were able to have their private space but also many areas to sit and talk or play games. It is also walking distance to all the popular areas in Cape May as well as the beach.
Would highly recommend.

Perfect for our family reunion weekend
The house is large and has a good mix of small rooms and larger rooms for family meals, intimate conversation, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games. There were 24 of us there, a few who stayed the whole time and others who came and went as their schedules allowed. We had a great time. I can't think of one thing that I looked for in the kitchen and didn't find. The host was very responsive when I texted with questions. Will definitely consider coming back the next time we hold our reunion in Cape May!

Fabulous time.
This beautiful house was perfectly situated near the best of everything that Cape May has to offer. Our family (21 people) had plenty of room (and bathrooms) and the kitchen was fully stocked so we didn’t have to bring anything other than food to eat! The owner was extremely responsive to every little question I had... couldn’t have been happier! Loved every minute spent there.

Awesome House and Perfect Location!
This is one of my favorite places to stay in Cape May if you have a large group of family or friends! I've stayed here twice, and both times have been great! The house is amazing with so much space for everyone to spread out, and it's at the perfect location in the heart of Cape May walking distance to all of the top shops and restaurants, not to mention you can see the beach from the porch :)
I would absolutely stay here again! On top of all of the above, the owner is great to work with and so responsive!

Spectacular 19th Century Victorian Home in the Most Perfect Location!
Our extended family of 19 relatives spent a week in this unique and beautiful home that is well kept by the owners. The house has such a warm welcoming feel that is filled with the charm and character of a Victorian home. We really enjoyed every nook and cranny of this house from having sit-down dinners in the dining room to playing games in the living room and hide and seek throughout with the kids. We spent every evening on the front porch watching the horse drawn carriages and many passersby. The back yard is also a very special place for BBQs or sitting on the porch for some quiet time. Once we explored the town, we realized it was the perfect house as nothing can compare to its proximity to the beach and all of the great shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit the hot dog stand down the street and of course the Mad Batter right next door which serves the best breakfast in town. (The nicest part about that is you can put your name in and hang out in your own home until your table is ready!) Our whole family has grown up at the shore just a short 45 minutes away but Cape May is so unique and wholesome that you feel like you are in a far distance place! The final thing I would like to say is how accommodating and easy the owners were to work with. They were always prompt and courteous with our requests and questions. Thank you Michael and family for a most memorable and incredible vacation!

Beautiful, historic Victorian home for a large group!
This is a such a charming and lovely home, and it worked out perfectly for our group of 8 adults and 9 "kids" (ages 12-24) from five different families. Plenty of rooms, and it's nice to find a home that has so many bathrooms to go along with all the bedrooms. Now the bathrooms and the showers are quite small, as you might expect when you have to retrofit an old home with modern amenities. But there was always hot water, and we never had a problem with having to wait for a bathroom. For those who prefer a larger space to shower in, one of the full baths on the main floor has a regular, full-size tub/shower combo, like you would find in your own home. Outside in the backyard, there is a rather large wooden stall that has a delightful shower. It's perfect for washing off all the sand after a trip to the beach, and the water is so nice and warm! There is a modern LG washer and dryer for your laundry needs, and the kitchen was very spacious and well-equipped with lots of eating utensils, plates, cups, bowls, mugs, etc. We never ran out!
The walk to the parking area on Bank Street was not too far at all. There were nine parking passes available to use for the guests. The loading zone across from the house was usually open when we needed it, but occasionally it was full. Fortunately, we still managed in each instance, and we never had issues during the most critical times of arrival and departure with all our luggage.
The location of the house is perfect for being in the center of all the action and close to all the shops and restaurants. The Mad Batter next door is known for it's good food, so there is usually a long wait for a table, especially with a big party like ours. Fortunately, we could easily put our names in and then just sit on the porch and people-watch while waiting our turn!
The home owner Michael and his mother-in-law Judy were both so kind and helpful during our stay. Even though Michael was out of the country on his own vacation, he always emailed or called me back very quickly when I had a question or needed something. The same was true with Judy. She met us at the house on arrival, and was very gracious. At one point during the week, we asked if there was an iron in the house because we couldn't find one. There was no urgency, but she brought an iron, an ironing board, and an extension cord over 20 minutes later!
We all enjoyed our week-long stay here and have taken away many fond memories from this trip!

FUNKY OLD HOUSE WITH GREAT CHARACTER NEAR OCEAN AND IN THE HEART OF TOWN
Pleasant welcome from Gigi (I think was her name) who let us arrive an hour early when we requested it. Best parts are the front porch with rocking chairs, large dining room with great long table, and modern kitchen (though you might want to bring a sturdy metal spoon for stirring in large pots --the ones there are plastic and flimsy.) Rules of the house seem to have been written by a third world dictator! Large fines galore for various infractions, so read them VERY carefully. (We wished we had taken pictures of furniture placement because it's $250 for each piece not in its starting place and we panicked when we read that.) None of the fines are in your favor! We decided they were probably written for groups of single, young party-ers, and not elderly bores like us. Bathrooms galore. Shower in main bedroom was broken. Painter working outside on the upstairs porch, but sure that was a one time thing. Very close to a great beach (which you can see from the porch) and all the touristy shops. Right next door to the Mad Batter which serves a knockout brunch. Getting to parking lot and back to inn is very confusing and not close by. And don't loose the town tag--another $250 fine. But you don't need a car once you've unloaded. Traffic in the center of town is the pits. HUGE cleaning fee, so figure that in the final cost/price. And if you don't bring linens, you have to rent them and it ain't cheap! Think of it as a bare bones boat rental. Beds, pillows etc are there. But you'll need to bring hand soap, shampoo, towels etc. And a reading light if you read in bed. Very dim lighting in bedrooms.
Fun neighborhood to be in for watching the world --and horse and carriages--walk by, and the multiple police actions on a late late Saturday night were an entertainment bonus. All involving drunkenness. We found it amusing to watch the sobriety tests etc. Even answered a question from a foot cop who wanted to know which direction someone went.
So, go knowing it is a good big house, great for sitting around and chatting with a large group of family/friends, that it is an old house (people stop and take pictures of it,) that it is centrally located and wonderful for people-watching, and that it is quiet in the bedrooms. I am writing this before deposit is returned, but believe it is about to arrive. And we received no fines!

Fun long weekend
Big house that comfortably fit 22 of us. It rained all day one of the days we were there so we were mostly confined to the house, but it was very comfortable with the large common areas. Michael was easy to communicate with, was very helpful, and understanding. He has these huge tables outside that made it very easy to have big family meals. The house is half a block from the beach and 1 block from the center of town. Very convenient. Would love to stay there again.

Amazing home! Central to all that Cape May offers! Hop, Skip & Jump from Beach!
We went with 5 families plus parents, thoroughly enjoyed the home. Very spacious. Contemporary renovated, still maintaining its Victorian charm. The owner was always available should you have any questions throughout your stay.

A lovely house with the first floor all recently re-done. The owners (and her parents) were terrific to work with and very helpful. We had 19 people, between the ages of 1 and 84! There was something for everyone. Our 84-year-old mom even took a third-floor bedroom - because the house was almost identical to one she had grown up in and she wanted to be in her childhood bedroom.
The kitchen was VERY well-equipped with plenty of room for our foodie family to gather and make meals together. Everything was so convenient that we had all our meals in. A silly thing perhaps, but we were so grateful for the lovely custom huge picnic tables in back.
Thank you very much for letting us share your home.

17 Jackson Street is quite the find. You can see the ocean from the top balcony or enjoy the hubbub from the ground floor porch. Jackson street is literally, "the" street in Cape May. Horse drawn carriages regularly stroll the street while the guide points out all the Victorian Grand Dames -- 17 Jackson being one that got lots of oohs and ahhs.
Inside holds up too. The main floor has been beautifully renovated with a to die for kitchen and comfortable, functional living spaces. The kitchen is well-equipped and was comfortable to use even for our large family. Plenty of bedrooms and baths, all with AC units and the charm of a Victorian home.
The location is really not to be underestimated. Five families with 15 kids --- the kids were so busy all week walking to the snack shops, beach and mini-golf that for the first time in 16 years, they didn't once ask to do a boardwalk night. Walk to the beach, walk to the shops, walk to the restaurants. It's all just steps away from your front door.
