One of the best rentals I've ever stayed in--loved the unique property and all it's amenities, the scenery is gorgeous, enjoyed kayaking with the little seal watching.nearby, so close to the park!. Just wish we'd stayed longer!

Thank you for sharing your home! If you’re looking for a quaint vintage cabin on the water, this is it! It rained the weekend we were there, but it made for a cozy relaxing stay in the beach cabin. It has all the necessities for cooking, and the hot tub was a bonus. Our host was very responsive and accommodating with our check-in/out needs. I would definitely recommend staying here to get away from it all!

A wonderful place to enjoy the Hood Canal. We loved the charm of the house. We also enjoyed the all the outdoor offerings: fire pit, hot tub (clean and HOT), boats and kayaks. The little creek, wooden foot bridge, and lush landscaping were a total bonus. Favorite memories from our stay: sitting in hot tub with blooming camellia framing our view of the canal; Easter egg hunt for kids on the lawn; fresh oysters enjoyed on the deck.
Would definitely come back!

Checking in was very easy! House is right on the beach, stairs directly in front of the cabin so it makes it easy to walk right down to the beach and grab oyster or let you little ones find treasure’s! We used the fire pit which was great and we roasted s’mores as well! My son found a wine bottle that had floated to shore with a message in it, he couldn’t have been more excited! The house its self is stocked well with all the essentials, the sauna and hot tub were an added bonus! We would definitely come back!

We tried to take advantage of all the activities, harvesting and shucking oysters right in front of the house, kayaking, cold plunge, hot tub, fire pit and lounging in the sun on the deck.
The house is super cute. An old but cute old vibe. The area is beautiful. The only thing to note is just that all houses on the canal are ultimately right next to the highway, so if you’re a light sleeper, you might need earplugs.

We loved our stay at the Big Gray Cabin. We had a long, relaxing weekend making food, doing puzzles and using the sauna and hot tub as much as possible. This was exactly the spot we were looking for and can't wait to return soon!

My husband, myself, and another couple enjoyed our stay at the Big Gray Cabin. Great location, just right for two couples, very clean and stocked with everything/anything you might need. Beds and pillows were very cozy and comfortable. Loved getting oysters right out front and cooking on the grill....what a treat! Thanks, Suzanne, for making it go smoothly....we will definitely return!

We were a family of four with two adult children. We enjoyed the place tremendously! The view is to die for! The property is old but well taken care of. I liked the kitchen the most , especially that Wulf gas stove. It had all possible utensils, even a Kitchenaid mixer, which came handy, as I was able to make a cake for a birthday for one of my boys! We liked a sauna and a jacuzzi. My boys enjoyed kayaking. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this place. Oysters abound. Many ways to warm up after being outside: Hot tub, sauna, woodstove or even a soak in the clawfoot tub. The Wolf stove is ready to cook up your oyster stew. Then relax and watch a movie, choose from a huge selection of DVD's.
It was perfect!

We had a wonderful time with the family. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and sauna that came with the gray cabin, as well the wood stove. The only disappointment was that the low tide wasn’t low enough to get decent oysters and ones near the shore were all taken….. better luck next year

We have loved visiting the Hood Canal. Previously, we have stayed in a hotel. The choice of renting this cabin was 100% better. It’s quiet, a beautiful view, amazing kitchen and close to town. We’ll be back.

The house and view on the water is wonderful! Not a complaint at all about the house and view. The hot tub was great. The sauna was divine. The kayaks were so much fun! There are not many places to eat on the canal. There is a main road on the canal which all the houses back up to and the car/truck noise is noticeable from the house and deck. I imagine all of the houses on the canal experience this.

We could not be happier! We had a wonderful time, the house is super adorable, has everything you need and more. We enjoyed the place so much we never even left the property for the day days we were there. We watched the sunrise and took in the view's from the deck. The place feels very private even though there are 2 other cabins on the property. The only thing I could say that would be a "negative" is the 101 traffic noise - but this would not keep us away from coming back one bit! We will definitely be going back for another stay here. Already looking forward to it!

Our family enjoyed reading on the deck, cooking pancakes on the amazing stove griddle, swimming in the canal, bathing in the adorable tub and evenings in the hot tub & sauna. A very well appointed house! All amenities easy to use. The host is always responsive and accommodating. A wonderful family vacation spot. Toodling in the kayaks a plus. We look forward to coming again!

Lovely view
We had a lovely time - the deck is shaded by a beautiful cedar tree. Found a book by Greg Olsen in the big grey cabin written about a murder at the cabin!!! very exciting. Had a bit of trouble with the freezer which Suzanne took care of. Nice lace and good collection of DVDs!

Homey Vintage Cottage
Cabin 1 is a vintage 1930s cottage with hot tub and sauna, 2Br, 2Bath. We loved the decor. The beds were great, and the kitchen well-equipped. Right on the canal with a spacious deck. We enjoyed the kayaks as well. It was a nice four-day stay, and we would come back.

Cozy little cabin on the water
Great place for a getaway, very well stocked kitchen compared to most. Nothing fancy, just a simple cottage with the bonus of sauna, hot tub and kayaks. The windows could use an upgrade as they don’t provide as much light/view because of age I think but I would stay again.

My daughter enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and just picking the shells on the beach. Very relaxing getaway in a peaceful neighborhood on the canal.

Amazing amenities and beautiful views.
This may be one of the cleanest rental that I've stayed in. So many thoughtful touches. The sauna and hot tub were amazing and the garden was a special treat. We had a lovely time and cooked all our meals with ease (kitchen had everything we needed).

Nice, Quiet Getaway
This cabin was perfect for our quick getaway. My wife and I took our 6-week-old son on his first trip, and we had a great time looking out across the canal from the rocking chairs on the front porch. We also made good use of the hot tub. The place was well-stocked (including hundreds of DVD’s - very nostalgic), and the interior’s wood paneling is beautiful. We would definitely come back!

Clean, cozy, well-equipped
We really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed having fires in the wood stove, using the hot tub, watching birds in the water from one of the big windows lining the place, eating (prepped in a well-equipped kitchen), and playing games (they had a huge selection). It was pretty magical with the recent snow. I had to contact the host and she was easy to reach and helpful.

Love, Love, Love this property
My husband and I stayed 9 nights at the Big Gray Cabin on Hood Canal. The cabin was charming and just as it should be for a cabin right on the water. The location is beautiful, loved kayaking and just relaxing by the water. The property had everything and more you could need to prepare meals. We loved the hot tub, the sauna and the firepit. You should not hesitate to book this cabin, we will be back! Check in was a breeze, the owner was responsive to any questions and clearly knows how to run a rental property.
