The home is situated just outside of the Town of Lake Lure, right on Lake Lure, affording privacy for everyone to relax & enjoy the feel of the WNC mountains, and all that Lake Lure affords. Lake Lure is a vacation community, whose residents are friendly and welcoming to guests, (if you even see them, since the neighborhood has private, densely wooded lots that afford amazing privacy).

Home Truth: Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, 2025 through the first quarter of 2025(March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season.
Pets: This home and property are very dog friendly, and guests are welcome to bring their "best friends" with them. There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130 with a limit of 2 dogs per booking party.

House was great! House was clean upon arrival except floors were still dirty. Beds super comfortable . Could have used a few more towels only provided 1pp . Wish the branches on trees were cut back some so had better view of the lake. Otherwise the location was beautiful and the lake was amazing . The pontoon rental made our week on the lake even better. The property manager was great as they always returned messages promptly and responded quickly as did the pontoon rental owner. Thank you for everything we had a time!

This was our first annual family vacation spent in the mountains instead of Hilton Head. Though the location was excellent and the weather superb, the house failed to meet our normal expectations. The front door would not shut and latch properly, the furniture throughout the house was extremely dirty. The list of amenities included a pool table, but there wasn’t one in the residence. The pontoon boat was enjoyed by all, just disappointed that the local Lake Lure restrictions didn’t allow tubing behind it. The entrance drive could use a grading, since the ruts are very bad! We enjoyed our stay, even with these few discrepancies! Thank you for allowing us to use your vacation home.

We were there with 3 generations for a family vacation. The kitchen was well stocked. All ages enjoyed swimming in the lake- plenty of life preservers were available. Our 7 yo grandson was thrilled to fish off the dock, even though we threw the fish all back in! Grocery store is close by. Beds were very comfortable. A pack n play and high chair were in the closet. The canoe was a hit with all ages. It was a wonderful home. We highly recommend it. Everyone wants to come back. Thank you for a wonderful family time together!

The property was just as described, well equipped, and suited our party of 8 adults extremely well. The two decks gave us ample room to sit outside, and the cosy fire warmed us nicely on the one cold day we had. Highly recommend Catawba Lake House.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. The house was clean and spacious. There were some small things like bulbs that needed to be replaced. The ceiling fan in the main living room was very noisy. I had rented the pontoon boat as well, but an unexpected mechanical issue caused it to not be available. There are a lot of steps in the house and down to the boat dock so you need good knees lol.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Catawba Lake House on Lake Lure. The home offered everything we needed and then some. The property manager Yonder was responsive and customer focused. The Boat-In Boat-Out rental was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend Catawba Lake House for a family getaway.

We are a multi generation family of 12 and house accomodated all of us very well. We rented the pontoon boat so were able to sightsee the lake often.

We enjoyed large family vacation at Catawba Lake House! Everyone was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed to cook dinner each night. Kids spent all their time in Lake Lure, playing pool or using the freestanding golf arcade game. Asheville is close enough for flying in and out (which is what a few family members did) and also taking day trips. Most of our time though was spent at the house enjoying family and the house. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had a great time here! The house was very clean and well stocked! Plenty of room for all of us! The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed the canoe and the hot tub!!! It was a short drive to Chimney Rock and the grocery store! We loved our stay here!

We stayed at the home over Thanksgiving with 5 children, 9 adults, and 2 dogs. There was plenty of space for all of us, and the kids really enjoyed the hot tub and game room! The kitchens were well-equipped and having the 2nd kitchen really came in handy! The lake was lovely - we enjoyed taking the boat out daily despite the chilly weather!

My family was there from 8-25 thru 8-24. The house appeared very clean. Had everything you might need for a week stay along with plenty of room.
The only issue we had was the fact we were constantly being bitten by something. It didn matter if we were inside our outside. We definitley think if you trimmed the trees between the lake and the house that may not only help with bugs but would go along way with a view of the water. We also felt that we could not sit down on the dock or the decks due to how dirty the chairs, boat and dock were. simply blowing the leaves off and taking a magic eraser to the boat would also go a long way. I hope you take my review seriously because you could take that house to another level if the outdoor furniture and boat were kept up. We do not go to the lake to stay inside. Oh and the dryer doesnt work very well may want to look at that too.

This house is nicely located nicely close to grocery, the town of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock etc. We did side trips to Sliding Rock and Looking Glass falls and stopped at Sierra Nevada Tap Room for lunch after. We visited Chimney Rock State Park and hiked some of the trails. We did rent a pontoon boat from Yonder and frankly we think it is a must to have a boat to enjoy the lake. Plenty of space for all 11 of us. The winding roads of Lake Lure are a challenge and this house is down a steep road but you are right on the lake!

We took our family to beautiful Lake Lure - a great lake. This house is nicely located nicely close to grocery, the town of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock etc. We did side trips to Sliding Rock and Looking Glass falls and stopped at Sierra Nevada Tap Room for lunch after. We visited Chimney Rock State Park and hiked some of the trails. We did rent a pontoon boat from Yonder and frankly we think it is a must to have a boat to enjoy the lake. Plenty of space for all 11 of us. The winding roads of Lake Lure are a challenge and this house is down a steep road but you are right on the lake!

Perfect family vacation
Everything was wonderful! We all had ample space to hang out together or to find some time alone. The house was organized, neat and tidy, comfortable, spacious, and suited our blending of 3 families perfectly. There is so much to do in the area, we ran out of time. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area.

Our extended family enjoyed our time together in this home. It was well furnished and very clean! The setting was nice but the carpenter bees were numerous and ALL over the deck and front porch, making it challenging to sit outside and enjoy the good weather. We still enjoyed our vacation time!

It was such a nice little family get away. We loved the access to the lake. Only thing that was a pain was the tons of carpenter bees but they are everywhere.

First before we even got to the location I was hounded by the owner, yonder, to sign their rental agreement outside of VRBO or else I wouldn't be granted access. Eight (8) signatures later we were able to progress to the house. The driveway was narrow, long, and steep. The trash cans were locked up at the top of the driveway. The lake was a long stairway down from the house. The third level, where the bunk beds and a queen bed are, was temperature controlled by 2 separate units upstairs, one being in the master suite. Everyone downstairs was freezing and everyone upstairs was hot. The laundry room is the bunk bed room. The amenities were fine, but ended up being used very little. The main level terrace was the best part of the location. All extra things were stored in master closet. Although they did grant us an early check-in they did not inform us until late that morning, so we were unable to utilize it.
The house was nice. Yonder did respond to an issue quickly and followed up. However their constant emails prior to check-in had me walking on egg shells the whole time.

Great Property!
I can not say enough good things about this property. It was stocked with everything that you could ask for- large pots, soap, good towels, some spices, coffee filters, and so much more. When we arrived we were a little dense and could not find the wifi password (it was clearly visible, we just weren't paying attention) and I called the management company. The management company was very helpful and did a great job.
Check out is super simple, no need to strip the beds or start the wash. I highly recommend this property.

The house was better than we expected! Super clean, hand soap at each sink, dish soap, great supply of kitchen utensils, cookware, etc. Plenty of room to spread out for our group (three families, teens). Heat worked great, loved the labels on the light switches, two kitchens was a huge plus for storing all our food. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, pillows, and places to relax. Super close to Chimney Rock and the cute little town, we had a great meal at the winery and enjoyed shopping in the little stores. Highly recommend this house!

Great vacation spot!
The house was better than we expected! Super clean, hand soap at each sink, dish soap, great supply of kitchen utensils, cookware, etc. Plenty of room to spread out for our group (three families, teens). Having two kitchens, a game room, hot tub, and lake access made it easy to accommodate a large group of guys and we had plenty to do. Stores within a 5-10 minute drive were very convenient as well.
