The view from the front window was spectacular, especially the sunrises.
The location was a bonus for proximity of what we had planned. We went whale watching, rented e-bikes in Victoria, took the ferry to Salt Spring Island, Butchard Gardens and kayaked.
The house was well equipped and comfortable.

Sidney is wonderful and so was the house.

We had a wonderful stay at the Eaglesnest. The property is comfortable; the light is warm; and the views and the location are superb. We spent hours every day in the sunroom, with coffee or a glass of wine, watching the many varieties of ducks in the bird sanctuary, especially the returning buffleheads! We took the kayaks out on the bay, walked or rode the bus into town, and explored the Saanich Peninsula and beyond.
Adrian was a pleasure to deal with, always answering questions promptly - and pointing us in the direction of things to do.
A very satisfying escape. Thank you, Adrian.

We had a wonderful week in Sidney staying at this property located on Roberts Bay with the beach at our doorstep. Absolutely beautiful!
The location is perfect - right at the water and about a 3km walk to downtown Sidney.
The house is well equipped and very comfortable.
I would definitely look forward to staying here again on another trip to Sidney.

Perfect place for a long stay. My wife has COPD and found the stairs a bit of a challenge, and we would have preferred a king bed.

Adrian has fitted out his property with great care thus making it extremely comfortable to stay in. The views from the sitting room area are very interesting overlooking the bay, watching the many heron feeding at low tide. Sidney is a charming town and well within walking distance, about 20 to 30 minutes away. (depending on your age and speed!). We stayed for three weeks and joined the local library, however, Adrian has ensured there are plenty of books and games in the apartment . Eagles Nest is by a bus route with stops a couple of minutes away and for $2.75 you seem to be able to travel anywhere on the Island.

Waking up to the view from the Eagles Nest was wonderful. Our host has provided a very comfortable home with many thoughtful amenities.

We recently spent a week at "Eagles Nest" right at the water on Roberts Bay. The location could not have been more magnificent. The pictures on the listing don't do the location justice. What a wonderful, peaceful, picturesque setting! Although we engaged in may activities in Sidney, Victoria, etc. during our stay, some of the nicest time was spent just sitting on the back porch looking out over the water or walking the beach along the bay.
Adrian is a gracious and thoughtful host. The house is well appointed and stocked with all a family would need. I was thrilled to find that he had a couple kayaks available to take out on the water and made good use of the opportunity. The location is a perfect "home base" for all sorts of activities including visits to Victoria, Butchart Gardens, and the Cowichan region.
One of our best vacations ever!

Great place with super view.
The Robert's Bay house (really only the upstairs) is a super place to stay for awhile in Sidney, British Columbia. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, the living area is well arranged and comfortable, and most of all the view from either the inside living area or the outdoor deck is super! Our only gripe would be that the TV in living area is very quirky---it could be the provider (Telus) or the system in the unit but either way it was annoying.

Beautiful location with amazing view.
We were very pleased with this property. Very clean and neat with comfortable beds and great pillows! Nice cozy fireplace and sun room facing the ocean. Adrian was so wonderful to deal with...very attentive and kept in touch with several emails to ensure we had all the information we needed and followed up with a phone call. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants comfort, a beautiful ocean view, and a caring owner. Only one small observation: the kitchen pots and pans, flatware, knives, and BBQ tools all need to be upgraded. But I love cooking so this may not be an issue for others. We would definitely recommend this property! Thanks, Adrian, and all the best! Carole & Don.

Wonderful apartment--comfortable, clean, well-equipped with beautiful view of beach
This apartment has everything going for it. It has a beach at the back door that is great for exploring, watching the wildlife--we saw Orcas, seals, eagles, herons--or just enjoying from the sunroom or patio (we saw some beautiful sunrises over the water, with Mount Baker in the background).
We had 5 people staying in the apartment comfortably, with 2-3 more for supper, and we all fit around the dining room table! The kitchen was large, and great for preparing meals for 6-8 people. You can walk easily to the downtown (2 km), and there is a great restaurant--Sea Glass Restaurant at the harbour 5 minutes away with unique, great food.
Several of our group rented bikes from Here by Bike several blocks away, and they enjoyed biking to Victoria, and around the Saanich peninsula--there are excellent bike trails and lanes throughout the area.
There is a lot to see and do in the area, and this is a great apartment to use as a home base.

Paradise on Roberts Bay in Sidney BC
This very well appointed home is right on Roberts Bay, which is a short walk from the town center of Sidney BC. It is an incredibly peaceful bay with a beautiful array of birds (including Eagles). The house has 3 bedrooms , a large well equipped kitchen with anything a cook could want and a beautiful dining and living room area that looks over the bay towards the fabulous Mount Baker. There is a cozy enclosed veranda and a side veranda for barbeques. Vacationing in this spot is breathtaking. You wake up to the sunrise on the bay and realize you are able to jump in a kayak and be in the tranquil waters watching the birds float and fly by...

close to Victoria Airport and the ferries
Eagles Nest is the perfect place to enjoy the best of Sidney.
While the little town is close by, the rental home feels miles away.
Situated on the scenic and protected Roberts Bay, it is easy to forgo other excursions while captivated by the view of snow-covered Mt. Baker, truly awe-inspiring sunrises if you are an early riser, heron, Canada geese and gulls.
The second floor of this very clean home is spacious and accommodating.
The beds are comfortable. The master has comfy Charisma linens and a much-welcomed down comforter for the chilly evenings. Also a large walk-in closet along with terry robes and slippers gave a relaxing touch.
I would easily and highly recommend this wonderful property with one caveat. The traffic noise on busy Resthaven can be a possible concern for light sleepers. Closing the windows helps.
All in all, just idyllic!

A Fabulous Stay
Despite unusual winter weather, we had a wonderful stay at Eagles Nest.
Nothing can compare to enjoying the sunrise over the water, as I am experiencing as I write this review. The sun room was my favorite place with it's comfy chairs and bistro set for enjoying breakfast and lunch. The photos and description on VRBO are what you get. Wonderful!!
The house is well appointed, bed is comfortable and the living room cosy with the easy to use gas fireplace. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes. Here you can find grocery stores, lots of restaurants and coffee shops and interesting bookstores.
Adrian is a great host, always friendly and prompt at replying to any questions we had.
Thank you for a very enjoyable 2 months.

A little bit of paradise
Beautiful location on Roberts Bay
Easy access to the town of Sydney which we really enjoyed with all of it's activities and good restaurants.
Very comfortable home to spend time just ŕelaxing and watching the tide and the view of the snow capped mountains.
Manager was very helpful to make our stay very enjoyable.
We definitely recommend this home and are considering returning in the future.

Beautiful Setting
My husband and I spent almost three weeks at Eagle's Nest during the latter part of September and early October. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view was spectacular! The living space was very clean and so very comfortable with lots of extra linens for our weekend guests. We really loved the open layout and all the windows with so much natural lighting. Definitely a place to visit again in the future!

Wonderful ocean-side home-away-from-home
Eagle's Nest was a perfect vacation home for me and my niece, we both LOVED it and highly recommend it. It's clean, well maintained, comfortable and beautifully furnished, with large windows that bring the ocean indoors. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped; the BBQ grill is large and high quality, as are the washer and dryer. Both bedrooms are nice, especially the master, with a highly organized walk-in closet and attached 1/2-bath. If you need a 3rd bedroom, the media room has a sofa bed and a door for privacy. The bathrooms are clean and nice, with a good shower and big tub. The free long-distance internet phones work fine in the media room. This rental is as described and pictured on vrbo - be sure to watch the video.
The patio overlooking the ocean is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner, as is the bistro table (for 2) in the sun room. You will undoubtedly find yourself sitting in the sun room, rain or shine, watching the ocean – what a beautiful view. My niece and I easily launched the kayaks from the backyard, and we enjoyed walking along the tidal flat when the tide was out.
This rental is easy to get to and is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. It's ideally situated to: the ferries at Swartz Bay (5 minute drive), Van Isle Marina with its beautiful yachts and wonderful Sea Glass Waterfront Grill (5 minute walk), downtown Sidney (which is both cute and practical; 3 minute drive), and the Victoria International Airport (12 minute drive). It was easy to get to Butchart Gardens and the Cowichan Valley by car, and the bus to Victoria was very convenient. We had initially considered staying on one of the smaller islands (Salt Spring, etc.) but Eagle's Nest has a huge advantage if you want to explore Vancouver Island like we did – you aren't at the mercy of the ferry schedules except for visiting the smaller islands.
Adrian, the owner, is considerate, friendly, and available by phone or email. He responded quickly to my inquiries and requests, and made us feel very welcome.

Comfy, clean house. Roberts Bay is beautiful
We really enjoyed the stay and loved Roberts Bay. The bird wildlife is amazing and we always had a seal to accompany us when we were kayaking and paddle boarding. The house was very comfy, clean and had lots of deck space to escape to. The owner and family were great to deal with and allowed us to use a couple of their kayaks which the kids had lots of fun on.

Adrian was very accommodating to our irregular travel plans. His home is exceptional and everything you need to have or need to know is made available to you. Sitting in the sun room to watch the sunrise over the bay is an experience I highly recommend as it will make your friends back home very jealous when you share your pictures (trust me!) Renting in Sidney is highly recommended as less hustle and bustle than Victoria but it's an easy trip to Victoria for a visit. Our stay was too short but I will be back.

We recently enjoyed a lengthy stay at Eagle's Nest in beautiful Sidney BC. This property is very conveniently located near the ferry terminal and international airport for Victoria. The most impressive thing about Eagle's Nest is the view looking out over Roberts Bay straight over to Mount Baker in Washington state.
We were very fortunate to have had amazing weather for the entire two months of our stay which made for great sunrises and we found ourselves getting up early enough each day to watch the wildlife in bay begin the day.
The house is clean and well equipped and the furniture is comfortable. Very good beds and bedding also. The kitchen is bright, large and well positioned to allow for good interaction while preparing meals. The landlord has thought of just about everything in fitting out this beautiful home with all the right amenities. We really enjoyed our time there and have made plans for a return trip next year. Highly recommended!

My wife and I with our two teenage daughters had a wonderful experience in Sidney staying at the Eaglesnest. The home was wonderful and situated just outside of Sidney directly on the bay with direct access to the beach. The view's from the home are breathtaking with the water front, Eagle's, seals, birds and Mount Baker in the distance. The marina is only 3 blocks away and has a fantastic restaurant (Seaglass) that is a must. Everything about the home was perfect. The home has two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, full kitchen, large washer/dryer, living room, sunroom and two balconies that face the ocean with one that leads directly to the ocean. The photos do not do justice to this location. You get more than what you see! Sidney has much to offer and is a small town with such charm. Best whale watching is Sidney Whale watching! Ask for Mike. We saw over 40 Orca whales with other wildlife!! Overall this home is fantastic and has direct access to the water, the town of Sidney, the marina, bus route if needed, beachcombing, shell hunting, wildlife viewing, relaxing, incredible views, kayak's in the back yard for use, whale watching and almost anything you need is here. Our family made lifetime memories in the week we spent at the Eaglesnest home.
