There are no hotels or businesses here. The beach is 2 miles long, great for snorkeling, fishing, long walks...
Sea Garden has a large wrap-around porch of 1.000 sq.ft. is reached from a series of seven doors from all the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and a patio with a lot of privacy... There is a hammock and a swing chair on the porch, overlooking the ocean...
House furnishings are comfortable and contemporary. The beds have gel mattresses and gel pillows for the most comfortable sleeping ever!!!
Fully equipped kitchen has a dining table for 6 people.
There are lounge chairs with cushions on the beach.
Enjoy doing BBQ with a charcoal grill on a very nice patio overlooking the ocean.
Swing chairs and hammock give a nice addition on the wrap around porch for extra relaxation...

You can find all kinds of restaurants, boat rental company, kite surfing,etc. not far from the house, in a short driving distance. Choose from a variety of tours offered by Exuma Tours. Book a tour trip to go see James Bond Grotto, feed iguanas and swim with the pigs!!!

Hands down the most ideal property for what my family needed during our stay on Exuma. The location is perfectly situated in the middle of the island and we could literally roll off the porch onto our own beach. Thank you so much.

Had the absolute best week on Tar Bay beach! House was in a great location to explore both ends of the island. House was just as pictured… I just have a couple of personal recommendations to my fellow travelers; beach towels were provided, but, where only 4’ so not ideal, hair dryers were older with only high low setting and they are extremely hot with not mush blowing, so had to plan ahead to air dry hair, & the pillows from ikea (similar to my pillow) not my favorite & should have packed one of those too! Also the driveway is tricky as bushes Shrubs trees are overgrown and blocking the view to get back onto that main road…. But it was an amazing week in EXUMA 🌴… I’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at Sea Garden this past week. Communication before we arrived was fantastic, with Olena answering a few prep questions. House was ready when we arrived and already cool from the new AC’s they had just had installed! The house is literally steps from the ocean, which was one of the best parts of our vacation! I would highly recommend this home to enjoy your family vacation!

Advertised cable/satelite. So fuzzy couldn’t watch.
Check in email had the manager contact of someone that no longer is the manager so had to go thru Vrbo to reach owner.
No soap/shampoo in showers. Soap was advertised but shampoo wasn’t. No closet in any of the bedrooms. Just was disappointed for the price we paid.

Stunning location! Unfortunately we were not completely happy staying here. The air conditioning was not sufficient to cool either the main dining and living room, nor the master bedroom, so that was frustrating. In general, there are quite a few areas that need some sprucing up. Owners were responsive in trying to solve the a/c but I cannot recommend if you are staying there in the heat of summer. Also, would love a few more amenities. That being said, can't beat the beauty of the location.

We just left Sea Garden after a week at the property. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The beach was mostly secluded the entire week we were there. The home is pretty much as advertised and all the beds were very comfortable. The AC in the home worked great. We never had to reach out to the host during our stay, most information we needed was provided prior to our check-in so we just referenced back to that. The mosquitos were annoying, but only at night, and we came prepared for that. Favorite things: location, bedding, view, wrap around porch, grill, privacy. Suggestions: provide kayak's (I understand there have been issues in the past, but have renters sign a liability waiver). Most of our neighbors had access to paddleboards and kayak's and that was the number one thing that could have made our stay even more phenomenal. The kitchen does need some basic amenities such as measuring cups, a crock pot, and casserole dishes. We made do with what was there and regardless of those, I would come back to this home. I would definitely be more inclined to rent from a place in the future that does provide kayak's, paddleboards, etc though. The location and privacy were unbeatable and we had a fantastic time! Would highly recommend.

The property is located right on the beach with a wonderful unobstructed view. The covered porch on three sides provides shade and multiple sitting areas with a nice cooling breeze. Three bedrooms each with its own bathroom and good A/C and ceiling fans. We would certainly rent here again on our next visit to George Town.

Tar Bay is absolutely beautiful. Home does not have all the bells and whistles of most, but the view and beach are more than enough. Wind on Tar Bay keeps bugs at bay. Best beach on Exuma by far.

The location was perfect.
The house was infested with cockroaches, ants, and sandflies. We contacted owner and she directed us to some ant spray. It ruined our trip. The kitchen was so yucky we had to eat dinner out every night (we love to cook).

I will start with saying the proximity to the ocean is great. But that’s about it to be honest. I would’ve spent my money elsewhere had I known the state of the home and the deceptive nature of the listing. Here is a list of all the things me and my family found wrong with the property:
No kayaks as advertised. Mold on kitchen countertops, inside showers. Peeling/cracked ceiling above master bedroom head. Old brochures (5+years outdated on prices etc).
Dust all over fans, dryer sheet in fan blade. No drying rack for clothing. Not enough toilet paper or paper towels for our stay-2 rolls/room. Blow up toys dilapidated. No screens on windows for kitchen. Table for outdoors does not seat 6 people as stated in listing. Pillows extremely flat and broken up in pieces inside the filling of the pillows. No instructions on how to get into the home or even the address until I asked the morning we landed here. Maybe she forgot she had guests coming? Window shades in bedrooms do not stay down and had to be taped by us in order to keep them down- previous duct tape was stuck on them also. Trash/beer bottles and cement block right next to porch on property that had been there a while. Chaise lounge pads are flat and the aderondak chairs broken and cracked- sliced my back and tore a hole in my brother’s shirt.House inside not swept, toothpaste smears on master bathroom counter, kitchen table had stains and stickiness- manager and owner made aware and did not seem to care and got defensive.

My husband and I decided to take our adult children to see why we keep coming back to the Exuma’s 😊. The house itself could definitely use some love and updating but the location is beyond perfect. We walked to the beach every morning and the evenings are just as beautiful.

You can't beat the location of this property! You walk out the back door to the most amazing and beautiful beach. We brought our family and had a wonderful time. You can sit on the back porch and see sting rays passing in the water. There is a coral reef nearby that we enjoyed on a daily basis. It was a dream trip for our kids. And Olena is an extremely responsive and caring host.

This was the 2nd house we have rented on Great Exuma. This house was great. A little older, but the view and location are unbeatable. Wonderful wrap around deck for everyone to spread out on. Beach chairs were great. Beds are very comfortable! Minimal supplies to do cooking at the house. This house is centrally located so you can easily get to both sides of the island. Very close to town and stores to get needed supplies. Would rent again.

You cannot beat the location of the house. The beach us perfection, the water gorgeous, and steps from the house. The bugs were terrible, which is a tradeoff for no wind and calmer seas. That has nothing to do with the house, just what we experienced.

We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful cottage. It was equipped with everything we needed, clean and spacious. The weather was perfect, as was the beautiful beach outside our door. We spent a lot of time on the wrap around porch enjoying the gorgeous view. We can’t wait to come back.

Sea Garden is a small, but quaint house located on Tar Bay. Tar bay is farther north and less protected than other areas south, so there is some surf and the water gets turned up and due to this, it is not as clear as places on Hoopers bay or Jolly Hall.
The house has extremely comfortable beds. Everyone commented on it. The main living area has a small couch and two chairs so if you have a larger group here, seating can be limited. As someone who cooks a lot, the kitchen meets bare minimum standards. There was nothing in the kitchen except salt and pepper so everything from cooking oil etc will need to be purchased.
The deck out back is serene and a great place to sit. The house has seen it wear and it not yellow anymore but that is expected on the shore where it gets battered by wind and sea.

Beautiful and convenient location, nice employees, concierge service was awesome. Owner responded quickly to our questions. There were no kayaks, but we enjoyed everything else the property offered. Amazing views!
Our only concern was there appears to be a limit on water, which we weren’t aware of and would’ve planned accordingly. It dwindles at night and stopped on our last day, which didn’t allow us to flush toilets and finish cleaning. Other than that, wonderful stay in a paradise setting. Thank you!

We had a great week on Exuma and the Sea Garden was a perfect place to relax and take in the breathtaking views. The house was clean and well stocked and Olena was always great about responding to our questions and giving us helpful info about the house and the area. A very short drive from the airport and a beautiful beach right outside the door. We would definitely stay here again.

I really rely on reviews when it comes to vacations so I really try to be up front and honest with mine.
Outdoor area:
The view is amazing!!! We spent most of our time outside on the back porch/beach when we were home. I loved that the beach was just off the back porch. The water is turquoise blue and the sand is soft. We loved getting to listen to the waves all day/night.
Make sure to take bug spray! The mosquitos were awful! We thought with it being January, they would not be so bad but they were. Also recommend not opening the doors. Even with screens, they get inside.
Some of the outdoor things need to be replaced such as cushion covers- they are moldy and torn. Most important, We did message owner about the kayak as its a safety concern. It's broken and should not be used. My husband was out in it in the ocean and it sank. Upon inspection, it had a hairline crack that we didnt see and no water plug. We had to call a rescue boat in to help him to safety as the tide was too strong. Thankfully he was wearing a life jacket or something tragic could have happened. We were told that the kayak would be replaced. I would make sure of that before going out in it. It was important for us to let them know as we would not want this to happen to any future guests! There is one life jacket available for use.
The inside: The beds were comfortable. It would be nice to have extra blankets for those of us that tend to get cold at night. They had two but there were 5 of us. The bathrooms were clean. The main living area/kitchen is very outdated. It is a beach house, so we take that into consideration but there was wads of paper towels in the kitchen window where there was a gap, rips in leather chair in living room, and front door not installed properly and sagging. The kitchen lacks basic kitchen supplies such as steak knives (they had two but they were not sharp at all). There is no dishwasher. We knew that before going but wished we had taken paper plates etc as I spent a lot of time washing/drying dishes.
We noticed small little bugs on cabinets that we had to wipe up throughout day. Its a beach house so bugs are to be expected but It might be beneficial to the have house/area sprayed for bugs.
Tip: Take groceries- its VERY expensive at the stores/restaurants! We took frozen meat, canned vegetables, rice, etc to help cut down on costs! Bring toiletries too!
All in all we had a great time! With some minor repairs/upgrades Id give more stars!

Sea Garden is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Exuma! The home itself was exactly as described and fit our group wonderfully… but the outside living areas!! hammocks, lounge chairs, and that incredible beach just steps away almost makes being inside not even necessary!! we loved our stay and are already looking forward to returning
