About this villa rental
Thank you for your interest in our beautiful 5 bedroom/ 5 bath / sleeps 12, beach house, the Blue Dolphin. If your group wishes additional space we do offer our separate "lil Dolphin", 2Bedroom/Full Bath (sleeps 4-6) exclusively for Blue Dolphin guests (if not needed it is never rented independently to respect your privacy, so is available for your group to rent at anytime prior to arrival.) The "lil dolphin is located on the same property having it's own ocean view/full kitchen/roof top deck/veranda etc... Our new VIDEO TOUR, made last May, 2015, is wonderful to give you a feel of our "slice of paradise"!! Since the video we have retiled the entire main floor and pool area along with a fabulous addition to the living area, affording lots of space inside and out for your group to enjoy and "spread out"!! We also updated the roof top deck as well, making the Blue Dolphin again "The nicest house on the island"!! The "new paved road north also was removed from our property and placed along the edge of the lagoon making our property even more private and very very quiet as our property stretches from the ocean to the lagoon!!
Our beautifully landscaped, very private and expansive 2 acre estate includes 150 feet of white sand beach right on the Caribbean Sea with a pier that's wonderful for snorkeling and fishing from and reaches back 700' to a beautiful wildlife filled, mangrove lagoon with another pier for fishing. We also have available to our guests 3 kayaks to carry you swiftly (5 to 10min. depending on the breeze) to the reef for your own private snorkeling adventures and a Belizean canoe and a small row boat for touring/fishing the lagoon.

___October, 2014: we built a resort size pier, complete with large palapa covered area at the end, stairs, fish table with running water to rinse off gear, making it an "unbelievable" place to fish, swim, morning yoga or coffee or just enjoy the ocean breeze viewing the reef or passing dolphins or bone fish!!
___November, 2014: San Pedro Town completes the 1st phase of the road north which ends 1000ft from our private drive making town a 10minute smooth golf cart ride away!!
___April, 2015: We completed our addition of two new bathrooms ensuite, making the Blue Dolphin 5 bedrooms/5baths with 3 being ensuite!!!!
If needed we also offer, at an additional cost of $369/nite, the adjacent newly constructed, two bedroom/sleeps 6, 'Lil' Dolphin with its own full kitchen, living room, dining area for six and full luxurious bath and all the amenities of the Blue Dolphin house including; WIFI, Phone, Cable TV, Smart TVDVD and I-Pod stereo and Air Conditioning. All seven spacious bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable Tempurpedic beds. The 'Lil' Dolphin is offered EXCLUSIVELY to those guests staying at our five bedroom Blue Dolphin and would like more space...it is never rented without the main house for your privacy!!
Upon arrival you will take a short, 15 minute taxi ride to our beach house, the Blue Dolphin, they all know it. If you wish, they will stop and let you do a little shopping before heading up to your private vacation home, the Blue Dolphin! We can have your golf carts ready and waiting for you at the property. Our fabulous caretakers, Corrina and Eswin, will be ready and waiting to pamper you and take care of your every need. In addition to them doing your daily maid service, grounds care they are available to assist with anything to improve your stay. Corrina and Eswin are a huge reason the Blue Dolphin has been so successful and they are a true delight and we feel very thankful to have them as you will as well! Our family gathered in Belize to celebrate my husband’s recent retirement. We spent hours in the pool and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.

We had a great family vacation at the Blue Dolphin with several adults and children aged 7-14. The pool was an amazing sanctuary from the heat and the house has great access to the water and is well positioned between downtown and Secret Beach. Thanks to the homeowner and caretakers for all of their assistance in making our first stay in Belize a memorable one.

The Blue Dolphin was perfect for our group of 8. The view was amazing, hanging out in the pool overlooking the water was ahhhhmazing. The host was so helpful and responsive before and during our stay and we all had a fantastic time. Highly recommend.

My family of 8 (7 adults/1 teen) stayed 5 nights at this awesome property on Ambergris Caye. The home, pool, and grounds were lovely. With 5 bedrooms (each with their own bath), everyone had their own private space. Each bedroom had AC. We had the master suite and only used AC the first night, choosing to keep the doors and windows open to enjoy the cool ocean breeze.
The home had a large kitchen, 2 refrigerators and plenty of dining table space. If we had stayed longer, we would have cooked more. When travelling, we enjoy trying local restaurants, so during our stay the kitchen was used mostly for mixing rum punch and prepping/storing fresh fruit and farmers' market goodies. We used the large dining table for board/card games.
The pool/patio area was outstanding. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed using it daily. We played cornhole, relaxed in the hammocks, took the kayaks out to the reef to watch the sunrise on Easter morning, and enjoyed watching the tarpon in the evenings at the end of the dock. So many things to do at the property, that we could have just stayed there the entire time. But there is so much to see and do in Belize!
Dr. Mark was very responsive and had lots of helpful tips. The caretaker, Eswin, was awesome and even provided us fresh coconut water.
Restaurants we loved: Sol Cafe, Caliente, Palapa Bar, Truck Stop (so fun), and Blue Bayou at Secret Beach. Highlights: Lamanai, cave-tubing and the BEST snorkeling trip with Lady Leslie!

This place will not disappoint. Although Belize may have lost a little of its luster over the years, this is an oasis in and of itself. The owner is an exceptional advisor, who will make sure you are equipped to have a five star vacation. He has staff assigned to the house to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. The property is as advertised. The owner and staff are very helpful. If you are a true beach lover this is not for you but the pool, dock and grounds are perfect. We stayed here with 5 couples, lots of room and or privacy if needed.

My family of 8 adults spent a wonderful relaxing week of Feb. 17-24, 2024. The blue dolphin is all Dr. Mark said it was and then some.
The pool was a great gathering point with views of the ocean and the waves breaking over the reef off shore. We loved the long morning walks on the beach. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The staff is very efficient and most helpful when we needed information or other assistance. Ambergris Caye is a jewel for getting away from the over crowded vacation spots of other islands.

This was our 4th trip to San Pedro this time for the celebration of our daughter and new son-in-laws! There was a total of 23 of us that stayed at a total of 3 properties. This was a return trip to the Blue Dolphin for some of us! The property continues to be well maintained and the care givers Steven and Mira (who was covering for Stevens wife because they just had a new baby) were always available when needed and always willing to help us out with questions, arrangements anything else that we needed. There were always plenty of towels, cleaning was routine and timely, Steven even cooked the fish we caught one night! This time we checked out alot of the local spots like the Tipsy Lobster, the swim up bar at Belizean Shores, Sol Cafe', Crocs Sunset Sports Bar, in town we ate at El Fogon for traditional Belizean food and enjoyed watching volleyball at the Toast Seaside Boozery and Grill. We went into town to see the Christmas lights and they were awesome! I would highly recommend this property and its location.

We came with 7 of our family from ages 18 to 73 as my daughter chose this for her graduation trip.
Lovely slice of paradise! Loved watching the sunrise from the rooftop deck every morning and enjoying the sea breeze out on the private dock every evening. Beautiful property, friendly people! Dr. Mark helped us arrange everything in advance and everything went perfectly! He had trusted contacts to hook us up on some spectacular tours! Steve and Esme were the caretakers of the property and they cooked us an amazing Belizean meal! Very helpful with directions and any questions we had. If we are ever lucky enough to return we will definitely stay at The Blue Dolphin!

We had an amazing stay at The Blue Dolphin! Great location…. Not too far from San Pedro & not too far from Secret Beach. Such a nice ocean breeze and so peaceful sitting outside in the mornings! The pool was great and so was the pier (best coffee drinking spot). Steve & Esme were so nice and helpful. Dr. Mark (host) had great excursion recommendations and we had such a great time. Highly recommend!!

From the moment we booked Blue Dolphin to the time we left Belize, it was a very pleasant experience and trip! Dr. Mark was more than helpful with information about the property, thíngs to do while there, taxi service, transport to island, golf cart rentals, etc! The property caretakers are so nice and helpful, we enjoyed meeting Steve, Esme and Lassie (the dog) - they all helped take care of any house/property needs while we were there, excellent job! It was lobster season so we went fishing/snorkeling and had picnic with Erick and Jimmy (guides) that took us out. So fun overall, our group of 9 had plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms and the pool was amazing too! We fished off the pier at night, and the rooftop view from Blue Dolphin is gorgeous too!
We thoroughly enjoyed San Pedro and Blue Dolphin we will be back!

We loved every single thing about our time at the Blue Dolphin. We had an incredible week with our family, from age 3 to age 70! The house is an oasis, and the pictures don't do it justice. You will not be disappointed - 10/10 recommend!
We were drawn to the house largely because of the pool, with the big "shelf" for young children, and it was everything we wanted. The grown-ups loved it too :) The house is very spacious, and it has a wonderful feeling with a delicious ocean breeze that blows in when you open up all the doors. Of course we enjoyed the A/C at night in the bedrooms, and everyone in our group was very comfortable! It was very convenient having water provided, and a pack n play for our group. We really enjoyed the dock too.
The caretakers Steve and Esme are kind and wonderful and made sure we had anything and everything we needed, and they cooked us a delicious meal one evening!! Dr. Mark is a phenomenal host, and we loved all of his recommendations, from restaurants to the boat/fishing/snorkeling private tour day we booked. Most importantly, the house if just lovely and has so many great gathering/ relaxing spots to melt away into your vacation days in Belize. Last thing - we worried about the location before booking, but it is in a great spot, and we had no problem getting into town and also enjoyed the bars/restaurants within 2-10 minutes from the house! THANK YOU for a wonderful and most memorable vacation at the Blue Dolphin. We hope to come back.

We stayed at the Blue Dolphin over the 4 day Easter Weekend. The island was very crowded but we were able to get away from it all at the Blue Dolphin. Steve and Esme were very responsive to our needs. Our group of empty nesters were able to relax and enjoy the warm weather. With many restaurants within 5 minutes driving (and some walking), we didn't have to spend all our time in the kitchen.

We spent one week at The Blue Dolphin on Ambergris Caye. Prior to our arrival, the owner, Dr Mark, was very helpful with making arrangements for transfers, golf cart rentals, and excursion recommendations. His communication ahead of our visit was top notch!
Upon arrival at the San Pedro airport, we were greeted by two taxis (arranged by Dr Mark) who drove us roughly 15 minutes down a bumpy and windy road, some of it paved, some not, toward the house. We should have insisted on golf carts meeting us at the airport, which was offered, and then follow us to the house with our luggage, free of charge. Taxis were not inexpensive.
Upon arrival, Steven & Esme greeted us, but only to have us fill out paperwork for the house, and tell us about only drinking bottled water, and not flushing any toilet paper down toilets. This was the most contact we had with either of them during our stay. When we booked this house, we chose it over two others because it offered a "full staff" and marketed the option of meals prepared at the house. We have stayed at many staffed rentals in the past, all over the Caribbean, and have loved eating meals at the house, prepared by staff. This was requested by us, but NEVER happened. Steven told us he would cut up fruit if we bought it, but again, it didn't happen. House is dated and needs upkeep. On two occasions, we had to wash beach/pool towels because they were dirty, and buy detergent. Not a big deal, but inconvenient. Smelly beach, lots of bugs.

We had a great time! The house easily and naturally accommodated the 5 couples and it was so nice that each room had its own bathroom!
Steve and Esme were amazing in making our time there easy and fun! And Dr Marks suggestions for tours and such were spot on!

We had an amazing family vacation at the Blue Dolphin! Dr Mark was so helpful with tons of info on the property and set up all excursions, rentals, transfers, etc. He was exevllwnt to communicate with. Do not miss the suggested excursions!
The house caretakers were so friendly and accommodating as well.
It was nice to be away from town and yet very close to food and other locations.
For families with little ones: the house is not baby proofed, you'll need to watch little ones by the stairs and pool. Also the mosquitos were quite bad the first few nights until the caretakers came to our rescue and sprayed the property.
Beach was not swimmable due to large quantity of seagrass but the kayaks provides by the property were great and allowed us to explore further out.

Paradise
Property was immaculate. Dr Mark was very helpful and Esmeralda and Steven did a wonderful job taking care of our needs. House was very comfortable and the swimming pool was perfect. We did 4 separate excursions which were the highlights. Dr Mark helped coordinate and they were all first class. We used Felicity Sailing, SeaDuced and Cari’Bean tours and highly recommend all.

The pictures in the listing do not do this home justice. It’s a really beautiful property. The views are fantastic. We were so happy with the location as well. A Great Visit
We had a great time at the Blue Dolphin. Stayed with 13 people ( three children included). We put 10 in the big house and three in the little house. We had the windows and doors open all day with a nice breeze flowing through. Some of us used the air conditioner at night in the bedrooms. The water from the taps did smell of sulphur. Drinking water was provided in the kitchen and a replacement bottle seemed to magically appear as soon as we emptied one.
The pool was the biggest hit. We spent hours in there and plenty of comfy chairs for our large crowd. Being able to walk out the door to the pool was especially great with our 2 six and a nine year olds. A bonus was that beach towels were provided. I advise everyone to pack light because there is a washer and dryer in the house.
My brother-in-law fished off the pier. If you go down after dark under the light the Tarpon gather in the water.
We did the all day Catamaran snorkeling tour with Lady Leslie and had a blast. The only criticism is that they really rushed us into the water without explaining how to use the mask and snorkel. Caye Caulker was fun, we fed tarpon and Elan from the boat walked us there and then at our request led us to a small outdoor local restaurant with delicious Belizian food. I would suggest skipping the larger restaurants and looking for a place the locals eat at.
We also enjoyed a walking lunch food tour in San Pedro, yummy tamales and the Fry Jack restaurant was a hit.
I'd say you can't go wrong at the Blue Dolphin. Communication was great with Mark and we really appreciated Esme and her husband's help.

The Blue Dolphin was everything we wanted for our vacation. 10 of us stayed comfortably and easily! Esmerelda and Steve were helpful and always available! We would highly recommend the Blue Dolphin!

Great spot north of San Pedro
My group of family and friends had a great time at Blue Dolphin. Located far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxed but just a short golf cart away, it was a great location. There are lots of food and drink choices close by and a quick cart ride from Secret Beach.
The house is beautiful and perfectly maintained. It was clean and comfortable. The main features that our group loved were: 1) on-site caretakers who provided amazing service, including daily cleaning, 2) a fantastic pool that didn't feel crowded even with ten or more of us in it (but watch out for the stools and stairs that are kind of hard to see from above), 3) spacious living, cooking and dining areas (we served three home-cooked meals for our entire group, and they were highlights of the trip), and 4) FIVE KING BEDS!!!
It's not the cheapest option on the island, but you definitely get what you pay for at Blue Dolphin. Also, the hosts are easy to work with and highly responsive.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Dolphin. Everyone seems to know “DrMark” and the house so that made it very inviting. Its in a good location but you will need golf carts to go anywhere. We enjoyed all aspects about the house EXCEPT please be prepared to only have a/c in the bedrooms and only at night. So you will sweat, sweat, and sweat some more. 😂 Also the water for bathing only does have quite the smell (sulfur). I think it’s maybe due to the heating element in the hot water tank as we have had that jhappen at home before. So when you do shower sometimes you smell much worse after.
But really beyond those things (that didn’t really affect my rating as you can see) we had a great experience. Everyone from start to finish is very responsive and proactive.
We did the houseboat tour and it was fabulous! Daisy is a real chef making creme anglaise for the banana fritters that were to die for!
We also did the Sat life Eco tour 7 stop snorkel trip and had an amazing time! I highly recommend that one also.
For secret beach, the Maruba beach Klub is absolutely a must do. The pineapple ginger fresh mojitos are to die for!! The food there was some of the overall best we ate anywhere. Everything is super fresh and brought to you where ever you are. Ask for Gerome!!

TEN DAYS OF PURE RELAXATION
We are five couples who thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Dolphin. We took Mark's recommended excursions, and they were just great. Gloria and Armando were very helpful.

Fantastic experience!
This was a fantastic place to stay! The house and property are beautiful and the entire experience with the owners and the property managers was amazing! Dr. Mark is incredibly nice and helped set our family up with some awesome tours and tips for places to see and eat. Gloria and Armando are wonderful people and so very kind. We really can't say enough good things about this property!
Also, Lassie the dog is a cherry on top of an already perfect place!

Paradise
The property is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and was a perfect vacation home for 5 couples. What really makes this property special are the caretakers, Gloria and Armando. Gloria and Armando go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and are incredibly nice people. We had Gloria prepare dinner for us on our last night and it was delicious.
The owners have made sure that the kitchen was well equipped. There are plenty of beach towels and the pool area has lots of very comfortable chairs and loungers. The beds all have super comfortable mattresses, which isn't always the case in a VRBO.
We absolutely loved Lassie. She is the sweetest dog in the world and takes her job watching the property very seriously. She walked with us everyday and was a great surprise.
The owner is very responsive and provided us with a ton of really great information. It was hard to leave and we hope to return soon.

This was one of our best vacations--(and we travel often)...from the communication with the owner, to the arrival and stay. Three families with teens. Plenty of space! The house and pool were beautiful and cleaned daily. Private dock allowed us to be easily picked up for excursions. Golf carts reserved and ready for us when we arrived. The customer service was overall outstanding! Dr. Mark recommended the Lady Leslie catamaran. Capt. Martin, Ricky and Jody did not disappoint. Attentive, friendly and guided us to see the beauty beneath the sea. They made an unexpected stop for us to jump in and see the manatees that were spotted on our way back! A special experience! The snacks and drinks they served on board were AMAZING! They cleaned and organized our snorkel gear and allowed us to fish a little. Top Notch!! Dr. Mark also recommended the Lamanai Mayan ruins tour - it was exceptional as well! All of these were booked in advance since he connected us to people he trusts.. He recommended a great photographer to do family photos. The property is so beautiful, we just did them there! 5 of our crew were certified to scuba with the classes held in the pool and on property with the dives in the ocean. Every night we relaxed in the pool and rose early facing the beautiful sunrise on the ocean from our rooms. We spent a few nights on the roof top terrace watching the sun set eating fresh pineapple (amazing!). Lazed in the hammocks in the afternoon. While the house was amazing, it would not have been as wonderful without the onsite caretakers. Gloria and Armando were lovely and so attentive. Offered assistance as needed and took immaculate care of the house and grounds. The three meals we asked her to make were delicious, and having it prepared, ready and cleaned up after a long day of fun made us feel like royalty. San Pedro is a bustling town - an experience. We rode to secret beach, and to the very end of the island - north one day and south the other. The house was perfectly placed - close to Secret beach, grocery shops, and a quick jaunt to San Pedro (the perfect distance from town). Favorite restaurants: The Dive Bar and the Truck stop. The food was amazing. I just can't say enough. Thanks Dr. Mark for ensuring this was an amazing experience from the time we booked to the time we left. We have already made several referrals and would come back in a heartbeat.

Lacy the dog is a treasure and quickly had us wrapped around her paw! We will miss her.
Favorite things were: the Secret Beach, The Rain restaurant, exploring downtown (the Belize chocolate shop and cigar shops are fun), the Truck Stop for yummy food and good music. A MUST do is the Lady Leslie catamaran snorkeling tour with Martin and Jody. Dr Mark will set it up for you. It is a fun all day experience... we swam with sharks, fish, stingrays, and even a manatee!
Not favorite thing: The Mayan ruins was recommended and we did not really like it. The ruins themselves were amazing, but it was a 3 HOUR trip to get there. It was a beating... especially if you don’t love boat rides. So only do it if you are mentally prepared for 6 total hours of travel that day. Also the food at the store is expensive so we mainly ate out except for one great meal that Gloria cooked for us.
Overall we had an amazing trip and will be back for sure... we just hope the Blue Dolphin is available again!!!!

The Blue Dolphin is incredible!
The Blue Dolphin couldn't accommodate us any better! We left feeling rested, relaxed and well taken care of. All of Dr Mark's recommendations were fantastic. The caretakers were helpful and kind. And the house met all of our needs. I highly recommend staying here!
