Gardenia Mare home from home but with stunning view’s morning, day and night ,

Exceptional

Our stay at Gardenia Mare was exceptional. As we descended the several flights of stairs from the street, my mom and fiancé kept saying “this is where we’re staying?!?!” We checked in at the restaurant and were given keys and an orientation to the place. The apartment was well appointed with everything we needed to cook some meals for ourselves. We had lunch in the restaurant which was more expensive than we had been used to paying on our trip so far (single dishes ~€25 and up) but after the first bite we all looked at each other wide eyed and saying how delicious it was. On our last night we enjoyed the 5 course meal for €75 and were in heaven. Each dish was presented beautifully and explained to us. Mauro was a wonderful host who did everything from booking a taxi to giving us local recommendations to fixing our toilet. Mauro told us that the little cove this beach club is situated on is one of the best in Ischia and after seeing some other parts of the island (all beautiful) we had to agree! Safe, tranquil, with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food, views, and swimming, we are already planning our return!

There were some loud parties that went until about midnight, and there is always music playing at the beach club. We would have preferred more quiet but recognized that this is probably the norm for this island. We loved our stay.

Charming Hillside Resort with Stunning Views and Amazing Staff

Absolutely loved this place. Mauro is a super host! He did everything possible to make us feel welcomed including helping us rent a car, get a water taxi to catch our ferry to Procida, advise us what to order for meals, get someone to carry our bags up the hillside. (The resort is built on a hillside with 75 steps down from the street to the restaurant and apartments so it could be difficult to access for someone with mobility issues.) The food at the onsite restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking and sunbathing at the location. The views of the bay and the local castle from the resort were stunning. The 2 level apartment had everything needed to cook meals and wash clothes. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom included soap and shampoo. We had our own outdoor patio where we could eat meals and relax. We wish we could have stayed longer.

As a healthy, but not athletic 80 year old, I wish there had been an easier way to get down to the resort than the many stairs. But the location was stunning and the staff so helpful that I am grateful I could manage the stairs.

Exceptional

I have never in my life seen such a beautiful apartment. The apartments are 5/10 seconds from the beach beds, the water is ice blue. Just beautiful. We ate in the restaurant every night. I know there’s more places around to eat but honestly once you taste the food here you wont want to eat else where. Its like your own little bit of paradise.

Beautiful Location, Walkable to Ischia Ponte, Owner was Lovely, Needs a tiny bit of love inside!

The property overall is beautiful! A little slice of paradise. Owner Mauro was very helpful and nice. He helped us get a rental car delivered to the property. The beach club looked nice but we never got to use it as they had events and it rained most of the days we were there. We arrived by water taxi so we didn't have to carry our bags down the stairs which was helpful. Having a washer was very nice and helpful since we were traveling for a while.

COMMUNICATION, they had two very loud events one on Saturday and one on Monday. I would have appreciated a prior notice before we arrived, a discount, or an option to cancel our stay. The noise was so loud all day we were not able to enjoy the property or beach club which was very unfortunate. We tried to make the best of our stay as it rained by renting a car and driving around the island. The unit was spacious, however, needs some love/ updating (furniture/ better beds, loose tiles) We were also not able to use the restaurant due to the events so that was a bit of a bummer too as we heard it was very good.

Exceptional

The place is amazing. The bus stop is near the apartments just you have to go up by steps. So with little children isn't very good. It's a little place of paradise. The restaurant is very good, maybe is a little bit expensive. The view is worth a millions. On Saturday near there were about 50 yacht so it was amazing view. The beach near apartments is very nice like in the pictures. I do recommend this apartments. I will come back in autumn.

Fabulous accomodation and brilliant hosts, Mauro and Silvano

Exceptional location and very hospitable hosts. The setting is enchanting and well equipped for a restful stay. We were met with great kindness by the owners who made reservations for us and gave recommendations which enhanced our stay . The nearby town was beautiful. This is a hilly area but it helps to compensate for the fabulous food!!

We will return when the on site restaurant is open . We were very early in the season but we still had a great stay. Be warned there are steps to access the property, but take your time and admire the views when resting!

Superb

Extraordinary value: a spacious, comfortable, two floor apartment with lovely views of the sea, a private yard area with lounges (shared with the next apartment), and steps from the restaurant's beautiful little private beach with more lounges. Mauro was incredibly helpful.

There are many steps down a hill from the main road, so anyone with mobility issues would need to take a water taxi. It's a 20 minute, hilly walk to most restaurants and sights, so best to rent a scooter or be ready for exercise!

Silvano and his family were the perfect hosts, fortunately we were the only guests in the resort and had all the facilities to ourselves including private beach access. They were so kind to provide fresh croissants for breakfast everyday and also cooked a proper Ischian delicacy for us; rabbit. Above all we appreciated the kindness and attention Mautro gave us despite working hard on the renovation of the restaurant. We would highly recommend this place due to its great location, spectacular views, and courteous hosts!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautifully situated by the ocean with a view of Castello Aragonese. It was easy to get around either by bus or taxi boat. Our group had a lovely stay!
