The location is so peaceful and private. Very close to nature and so serene. We loved it! The team are beyond helpful and professional, at the same time being super warm and friendly. The home cooked breakfasts were 10/10.
There was no such thing.

very nice and clean apartment, very nice, helpful owner, good location

The place has a wonderful view! The breakfast was good, the service was good! They make sure that you have everything you need!
The road is bad, you need to go slowly if you don't want to damage your car, but it is not Casitaa Cabuya's fault.

super friendly staff, amazing view and great food!

it was rugged and simple Thevowners daughter Chrystal was very knowledgeable and helpful. She arranged a guide for us to do the Cloud Forest Reserve.
It is a it isolated and we were the only ones there on the first night. It was quite windy and wet and no one was on site after 5:30 pm. No air conditioning or fan. Room got quite warm during the day. Nothing to sit on in the room. The wooden bench outside was not comfortable.
4.7
Amazing place, the location, the view.. room was clean and cosy, people were very kind.
Dinner was very good too.
Really good value for the price. I would recommand it.

The place and the staff.

the view was amazing, it’s in the middle of nature, the owner are very friendly, but they don’t speak Englisch
it was very hard to get there, if you don’t have a 4 wheel car it’s not possible to reach there, we had to walk the last 30 minutes cause our car wasn’t able to manage that kind of „street“

Fantastic location with beautiful view. Middle of nature. Amazing family running the hotel.
Road leading to the house is a bit challenging.

extremely friendly and helpful owners and staff made our stay for a family group of 18 wonderful. delicious home cooked breakfast and dinner was well worth it. great views of the ocean and sunset. basic but comfortable rooms.
rough road to get there but we made it at night with a sedan

Although the road to get in was a bit treacherous on our little car, it was completely worth it for the spectacular views and incredible staff. We loved Ana and her granddaughter, they were welcoming, friendly, and always available. We ate breakfast there both mornings, as well as dinner, and the food was traditional and delicious! We loved our stay and felt very lucky to have been able to experience Monteverde at Cabuya!
4.7
The breakfast was self made by the owner Anna and her hospitality was beyond exceptional . We all strive for organic food and we had breakfast and dinner made of organic produce from the owners farm gardens and it was awesome . Both of kids loved the pasta cooked by Anna.. Local , fresh and locally prepared .. what can one ask for
its cabins in rain forest , so you will see insects and bugs enter your room if you keep your doors open.. so you have be careful. other than that it was a great stay

Beautiful remote area where you can come to relax. Very friendly staff, nice food and amazing views!
Everything was great

The cabañas were very nice and the green around. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was one of the best I've tried.
The bed was very uncomfortable also the shower was not very good.

Absolutely charming casitas nestled in the mountains with a gorgeous view of the valley. We enjoyed watching all of the birds flying around, as well as the sunsets and the clouds moving over the forest and valley. Daily breakfast served to your preference, and the optional dinner each night was consistently delicious. The friendly hosts booked all of our tours for us (thank you Christal!), and had excellent recommendations for places to go and things to do. The main cabin/common room/dining room is beautiful, with a lovely view of the mountains and an available fridge for storing personal food or drink. We also took advantage of some of the games and books for entertainment during the near-daily afternoon rain showers since our visit was during the rainy season. There is available laundry service at $4/kg. The casitas are cozy and the beds are comfortable. There was a huge lightning storm one night with high winds that caused the wifi to go down, but the cabin was sturdy with no leaks, and the electricity flickered once but never went out. Be aware that the road to the casitas is a rough gravel road that is occasionally very steep; I recommend arriving in the daylight at least the first time for easier navigating. There are signs along the roads pointing you in the right direction. Most activities are ~30 minutes away, more due to the condition of the roads than the actual distance. We very much enjoyed our 4 nights here, and thank the hosts for a wonderful experience!
WiFi went down during a bad storm with high winds, but was restored by the next morning.

The view is amazing! Also, the people there are so nice and helpful. We felt a lot like home and we loved waking up to the sounds of the birds in the morning. The place is somewhat off the grid, which was wonderful.
4.7
I really enjoyed the view. It’s just amazing. Personal is kind, food is cheap. And it’s quite location. Clean rooms.
First night was so difficult to sleep, because of the wind and casitas just rocked all night.

Amazing location with a great view. Nice family run place. Really nice home grown food.
Nothing (but it is a rough track to get to it)

Absolutely above our expectations! When you manage to get there (4x4 very much needed:D) you will loose you breath, we managed to get there just at right time for sunset. Rooms nice, all you really need - hot shower, bed, all clean. We sit in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast too, you can tell it was made with love:)

property is clean , staf is very welcoming . but roads are very dangerous , not paved . we were so scared to drive. the lodge is ok but it was a very windy night and rain, so it was so uncomfortable to sleep . so so noisy.
if you are adventurous and have a reliable car to drive then it is ok .

This place, and the family that owns it are extraordinary! For a taste of their culture and family values, stay here! The view and sunsets are amazing, the rooms simple, sparkling clean and comfortable. It is conveniently located for many activities in Monteverde and Santa Elena, which they will help you to arrange. We got lost coming from far away, and the family so kindly received us later than expected. They are the face of the Coasta Rica that we treasure!

We loved our stay at this fantastic family-run place. The location was stunning. Although it was a little out of town, the quiet and peace of the situation was wonderful. The view is to die for and we also saw a whole troop of white faced capuchins, many birds and a little agouti in the garden! Amazing! The food is also delicious and the staff so welcoming and helpful. Our room was perfect for our family of four - with one double bed, a single and bunk beds. Highly recommend. We'd definitely stay here again.
