There aren’t enough superlatives to describe this experience. We stayed right on the shore with a short walk into Bar Harbor. Our host Roberta was a genuine delight.

The property is within walking distance to town (3 blocks) via the roadway. There is also a walking path down to the ocean and into town.
Bar Harbor has plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. We like to cook so bought some seafood from locals fish markets. Overall great stay.

We had a great stay with extended family renting both this property and the shore path cottage on the same property. Our children had a ball running around the large yard and taking little walks down to the shore. It was great being so close to the big house that we could easily go back and forth between the houses and still had our own place where the kids could be put to bed early and not disturb the rest of the family in the early morning hours.

We had a wonderful week in Bar Harbor and loved staying at a well equipped home so close to the downtown area. We drove into Acadia during the day and walked downtown for shops in the evenings. Dock for whale watching tour was walkable from house. Was great to have a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Host answered questions about the area and was attentive to our stay. Thank you!! We loved our first trip to Maine. We are hoping it isn't our last! Would definitely rent here again.

The description and photos exactly match the location, apartment furnishings and layout. We enjoyed the short Shore Path to downtown Bar Harbor and the views of the water from the property. Cecily and Roberta were highly personable and accommodating during our short stay. The Bird's Nest Cottage had everything we needed during our stay. I will definitely return when next I visit Bar Harbor!

We loved our stay at this beautiful, very clean and so nicely renovated little cottage in a most lovely spot in Bar Harbor. The hosts could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and the location was just lovely-- a beautiful across the lawn walk to the shore path, a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes walk to town and a very nice little cottage, attached to a larger property, which was simple clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We loved our stay and loved the hosts. Would absolutely recommend. We stayed with our 4 kids ranging 13-7, felt like enough space with outside play areas, a grill and picnic table and a bright room for eating and playing board games on our rainy day, and an airy loft for the kids to all sleep in. Just perfect. Thank you so much Cecily and Roberta for sharing this place! It is just lovely!
