We loved the property and want to return.

We loved the location. This is a cute cabin with all you need to be cozy. The hot tub on the cold nights was inviting and relaxing. Watching the deer graze in the front and back yards was exactly what we needed to unwind and just enjoy the mountain. The views are also amazing, keeping in mind for us, there were no leaves on the trees (March). But I am sure in the summer, it is just as beautiful.

Cabin was very clean, great location, perfect for family. Will definitely book again of the best properties we’ve stayed at! Highly recommend.

Great family getaway! Perfect visit with our son who is at App State. Super cozy. The master bathtub was dirty and clogged so kinda gross. Place could use a deep clean but otherwise lovely.

This house provided the perfect weekend getaway for our family (4 adults + 4 kids aged 0, 3, 5, 7). It has all the necessities and provides the perfect setting for a winter mountain weekend. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and exploring the surrounding property, which was safe but rugged enough to keep our kids entertained one afternoon climbing rocks and such. I also loved how many fleece blankets were scattered around the house to provide extra warmth and comfort during our morning sunrise viewing. The cottage is exactly as appears in the photos— clean, warm, and well-appointed. I saw others reviews complain about the lack of overhead lighting, but I personally loved the feel and vibe of a lamplit mountain cottage. We were pleased to find a functional gas grill and a reasonable amount of spices and cooking oils that previous renters left behind. We couldn’t find a wine opener but thankfully had a corkscrew on-hand, which we donated to the house for the next party :)
As far as location, the view is gorgeous! There were plenty of other houses nearby, but not close enough to desire additional privacy. It was a 25-minute drive to Hawksnest for snow tubing and the Alpine Coaster, which were both awesome and SO much fun for our 3 “bigger” kids—I highly recommend! It was about a 40-min drive to Grandfather mountain and the mile-high bridge, which we explored after riding the Alpine Coaster. Located about 10 min from downtown Boone, we also enjoyed Booneshine brewery which is a great place to bring kids! The pedalin pig is a barbecue joint super close- by and provided a pretty incredible carry-out lunch after a busy morning out yesterday.
Lastly, the rental agency was so friendly and easy to work with, especially given my last-minute booking. We are now driving home and reliving some amazing memories from our short and sweet, last-minute mountain getaway. Thank you for the hospitality!

Beautiful property at a great location. We had a nice long relaxing weekend with no issues.

This property was in a great location, but we were disappointed with condition of the cabin. There was a layer of dust on about every surface. When we arrived the upstairs toilet was left clogged with the plunger setting in front as for us to unclog. The furniture was old and fairly worn out. A lot of pet hair on pillows, throws, and rugs. Dining table felt like it was about to fall apart. Master bedroom mattress was like sleeping in a canoe. The hot tub had not been serviced prior to our arrival, was low on water and very cloudy. It had to be dumped and refilled after we arrived so it took a full day for it to reheat meaning it was not usable during that time. This could be a very nice property, and although disappointed we didn’t let it ruin our visit, but some new furnishings and a new cleaning crew are highly recommended.

Angels Peak is truly lovely - feels like home! Loved all the hand done wall hangings- quilt squares, embroidery, cross-stitch, etc. There weee only two of us but seems like a wonderful place for a family stay. All the porch space was especially appreciated. Of course the majesty of the fall foliage was the icing on the cake.

The property is terrific! The only issues were a few issues with front door code to use for 4 PM check in on a Sunday. The code did not work earlier for the property manager as I was sent new code they reset. Upon arrival at 4:45 pm the new code did not work and took management company 30 minutes to answer and another 20 minutes to get a new code set up that we could use to unlock the front door. The cleaners appear to have come last minute on Saturday prior to check in as Carpets from Kitchen scattered on outdoor porch and damp. Outdoor rugs also not where homeowner would have intended. We hung over rails and let dry out as were very damp. We did love the home with the Fireplace creating a very relaxing environment in the evening. A few simple things should have been noted prior to our arrival as the Dishwasher not screwed in place and missing right, center and left 3 bracket screws causing the Dishwasher to pull out and tip towards floor when opening the Door to load dishes. This issue was easy to fix and since all 3 bracket screws missing has not been fixed for long time.
The home overall we very much liked just felt like the management company did not hold up their part of the deal cleaning and ensuring all working well prior to our arrrival.

This cabin was perfect for our family. We loved being here for almost a week and thought the house catered to all of our needs. It was in a very convenient location yet felt like you were miles away. Thanks for such a great visit to the mountains.

Escape the heat family getaway
This is such a lovely cabin that is located on primo property!! If you’re looking to getaway to that old time feeling cabin, nestled in the forest away from it all but still close enough to everything. This is your next rental !! Yes is it older and has no central ac, and some outdoor bugs were inside.. but that doesn’t take away from the charm of this place. The wrap around porch is perfect for families w-dogs and or smaller kiddos that you can have safely on the porch. Which has plenty of different sitting areas, nice rocking chairs and a hot tub w-complete privacy. The house has two downstairs bedrooms with windows ac units that kept those rooms plenty cool enough during mid-end of July while we were there and the upstairs where my husband and I stayed is no ac window unit but there is a nice size standing fan and ceiling fan to cool off the room plenty. By every morning it was cool enough to cuddle up under the covers for sure !! The upstairs nook off bedroom has so many fun games that you can not possibly play them all in 4 days and we never once turned any tv’s on. We are an active outdoorsy family. That comes to this area to hike so we were mostly there around early evening to mid mornings, off waterfall chasing everyday. But the fire pit was awesome for s’mores and the front yard is on a slope for sitting out on to enjoy the early sunshine & coffee. Overall we had a great experience and we didn’t want to leave. We will be back for many times to come. It’s a must stay if your a nature lover and can handle not having every comfort of todays world (like ac ) because it high enough up in the mountains, clearly well insulated cabin that the house was perfectly cool enough that we were blown away that there wasn’t any full ac through the house. Do not let the deter you ..
Can’t wait to be back at Angel’s Peak

Not worth it
The Cabin at first glance appears nice, VRBO has it listed as having Air Conditioning, this is not true. The cabin did not have any AC at all. We were told by Carolina Cabin rentals after the fact that it did not have central air but had window units. The window units were not installed, so it didn’t have AC.
1. Light in kitchen covered in spider webs
2. Wine glass in pantry broken and dirty with lipstick
3. Pet waste in can by back door left for who knows how long, what ever you do, do not let your children open this lid as the smell was overwhelming. Very awful.
4. Upstairs bath not draining properly
5. No Air conditioning.
6. Ceiling fan in upstairs bedroom is not sufficient enough.
7. Other than kitchen, no overhead lights. Very dark Cabin even with all the lights on.
8. Stains on the comforter in up stairs bedroom.
9. Upstairs bedroom mattress was awful. Probably 30 years old. Worn to the point of sinking to the middle.
10. Dusty
I hope this review helps. All my last reviews of VRBO’s that we have had were excellent. This one was our first that did not meet expectations. I would encourage you to look somewhere else until the above issues have been addressed.

Wonderful Stay
Had a great time at Angel's Peak. It was quiet and cozy and within 15 minutes of Boone, Blowing Rock, and many hikes.

Nice, quick getaway
Fantastic cabin on the top of a mountain. Perfect distance from Boone and Blowing Rock. Easy to find. Very comfortable stay for the six of us. The house is a touch dark but very charming. The kitchen is nice sized and there are plenty of pots, pans, appliances - everything you need to cook. The real game changer is the wrap around porch with gates so the dog could hang out on the porch without us having the have her on a lead. We will definatly stay here again.

Family Getaway
Wonderful property with all the amenities, minus the very important wine opener! Very close to everything, yet quiet and serene at the top of the hill. Despite a weekend of rain, we enjoyed the porch and hot tub daily! Upstairs bedroom was a bit warm our first night, but ceiling fans and other fans helped cool the space. Would definitely book again!

Great Location
The location is pretty central to everything, the property is great, the cabin itself is ok. Its kind of dark (not any over head lights except kitchen and hallway), and the interior amenities need to be updated (kitchen chairs falling apart, lamps as well, TV's from the 90's and a hair dryer that looks like its from Flash Gordon). We still enjoyed our time there, the fire pit and hot tub were great.

Just what we needed for a weekend getaway from Charlotte. The house was so quiet and private. Beautiful views. All was clean and in working order. We enjoyed the hot tub with the beautiful views! Thank you!

Beautiful Cabin
We have been to many cabins in the past and we all agree that this one was one of the best. We loved that it was secluded but not too secluded. We also loved the decor of the cabin and all of the little details made it feel "homey". There were so many super soft blankets. The twin beds were not very comfy but my daughters ended up sleeping on the couches in the loft and they said those were fine. It was a nice and relaxing stay and we would love to return and hopefully see some snow. Highly recommend staying at this cabin!

Secluded and quiet location
Loved the location and privacy that this cabin has to offer. The cabin was clean and spacious and has a fantastic wrap around porch with a hot tub. Loved the rocking chairs on the porch. Inside the cabin was well set up for comfort and seclusion for a family setting. We brought our own games, puzzles and movies and did not need to as there were so many different ones of each at the cabin. The only thing I have to say negative about it is the lack of lighting inside. Plenty of windows for natural sunlight but very little lighting for the evenings inside the main living space. Would be very romantic for a couple but too dimly lit for a family.

Good location
The cabin is well appointed, very clean, and comfortable. It’s in a really convenient location and has a nice yard.. Because there are so many pretty deciduous trees, the house is dark inside, and there isn’t much of a view in the summer. The master bedroom is hot at night, although you can turn on a (loud) ac window unit.
It would be a wonderful place to stay in the winter.

Love the cabin!
Great location! Very clean and comfortable! Most of our time was in the porch or by the fire pit. We will rent again.

Perfect weekend escape!
The house was extremely clean and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. We only used one of the bedrooms upstairs but it was very comfortable. The wraparound porch is great if you have pets because there are two gates that can be closed. Hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. The property offers great views and privacy! Highly recommend!

Lovely Boone Spring Break
Great house with nice kitchen and porch and private expanse of land around it. We took advantage of outdoor fire pit on two nights, and really appreciated the piles of tinder, kindling, and bigger logs already stacked at the ready nearby. My three smallish criticisms: auto-lock on door barely worked and needs to be replaced, twin beds downstairs had really uncomfortable mattresses, and upstairs master has no separate heating and cooling unit, so it felt like a dry sauna up there until I figured out that the solution was to open up both windows to create a cool, moist cross-draft at night. I think that final point should probably be called out to guests for their comfort.
