Spacious, spotless, meticulous care into every detail in every room of the home. Our reservation was last minute and the owners were so gracious, accommodating, and made sure their home was ready and spotless for our arrival. Communication was instant and consistent once we booked our stay. It is evident that the owners take pride in their home and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay and they provided plenty of recommendations for great restaurants, shopping, and other activities. Each bedroom is a suite with televisions and with bathrooms. So much space yet cozy, and comfortable home centrally located (Boone, Blowing Rock, Sugar Mountain, Linville, Banner Elk) in a quiet, gated community. Easy to get to. We saw many deer in the community, which we loved, so drive slow so you don't miss them or hit them. Homes in this community are not on top of one another. Mountain views from the balcony and multiple rooms in the home are incredible. I wish we had more time to spend here and I would definitely stay here again. I recommend Stonewalls in Banner Elk for a nice dinner. Many thanks and appreciation to the owners for going above and beyond!

We had a beautiful stay at this lovely home. Everything we needed was provided and only wished we had more time to enjoy the surroundings. Hope to return!

The house was immaculately clean and everything was exactly as advertised. Communication with the owners was easy. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds and other furniture were very comfortable.
The quiet, gated neighborhood was easy to access and just a few minutes outside of Boone. Watch out for deer on the roads, though!
The owner mailed us a key and we mailed it back after our stay. That was simple enough, but a little nonstandard based on our experience at other properties. Also, the owner required that we purchase insurance through VRBO and also send them a $300 damage deposit check (refundable) after booking. I've never had to do either of those at other properties, but there were definitely a TON of breakable items in the house. I wouldn't recommend if you have young children.
For our group of four adults, this was an excellent property. We would definitely stay there again.

Centrally located between Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk, this home has all the finest amenities and space for a great vacation. Each bedroom is a suite and enjoys privacy with access to an amazing den area with tongue-and-grove hardwood and a stacked stone fireplace. This is one of the finer homes in the mountains. We highly recommend.

We enjoyed our second visit and will return. So accommodating in everything and beautiful Mountain View’s and close to all shopping/functions related to Boone NC and Appalachian University.

1st day we arrived there was a few inches of water in the bottom floor bath tub. The owner said to put some draino in it. The next day ALL the plumbing backed up in the house! We called the owner to be told that the house was inhabitable and we needed to call VRBO to find someone else to stay. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement! The owner tried everything they could, eventually by the end of the 2nd day a contractor came by and within an hour was able to find the problem. It was a frozen drain pipe.
I would expect if we are paying this much money to rent a house the owner would stop.by the day before we arrived toake sure everything was working. This obviously didn't happen.
Another frustrating issue was pulling up to the house and the driveway covered in snow when in fact it didn't even snow that day or subsequent days. I feel that this should of been clear upon our arrival. But our 2nd day was spent shoveling snow and dealing with plumbing issues! Not a fun vacation experience.
The owner said that they would be giving us some sort of refund back from the Hot Tub and 1 nights stay due to the inconvenience we incured. To date we have not received a phone call back or seem anything refunded.

The house is beautiful and exactly as advertised. What we did not appreciate was the amount of paperwork and extra fees that got added onto the rental. A check for the dog, a check for a deposit, a check for the cleaning lady and numerous papers to sign and mail back. We would have expected a more technical and easier to complete process from Vrbo. The additional pet fees and rules for pets leave me to describe the property as pet tolerant, but not pet friendly. To give this rental 5 starts move your paperwork and key entry to electronic services and include pet fees in the rental price. Owners were pleasant to deal with, but not technically savy.

We confirmed this trip last minute. The owners were so accommodating and easy to work with. The home is beautiful, there is nothing that wasn’t there that we could have needed. The short distance to blowing rocks and Boone as well as all other attractions made it the perfect place for us. We will definitely return. Oh and we enjoyed seeing all the wildlife as well. Can’t wait til next time!

Hot tub clean . Ping pong table in excellent condition.
The house is full of taxidermy , 20 or so, which gave it lots of character but maybe not your style .
It’s a great place to relax and have large family meals in the spacious dinning/kitchen .

I gave it five stars because the owners are very nice, love their home, and make every attempt to accommodate their guests.
This may be the perfect home for you but you should know what you are signing up for before clicking the button.
The rental process is involved. First, you get a call from the owner to verify your number of guests and the nature of your stay. After passing approval from the owner, you receive a 9-page contract and two documents to cover the rules and requirements. You are required to sign, initial, and mail that along with a deposit check back to the owners. You must also leave a check on the counter for their cleaning service. Once they receive your deposit check, they mail you a key.
There are rules, instructions, cleaning requirements, noise warnings, labels, and check-out instructions taped up at multiple places around the house.
I would imagine this home was built in the early 2000’s. I am guessing that they have made very few updates since then. The shower downstairs is one of those old fiberglass “all-in-one” installs. It’s the kind where everything is sloped so that water cannot pool anywhere; the soap, shampoo, and any other plastic item take a swift downward plunge onto the shower floor toward the drain. And none of the shower heads in the house work properly. They all need updating.
The décor in this house was overwhelming to put it mildly. There was a bear or a moose on every table. There are antler lamps, antler chandeliers, and moose Knick Knacks EVERYWHERE. The tables, mantels, counters, bathrooms, walls, window seals, railings, doors, cupboards, and floors are all covered in bear-themed stuff. And there are strict instructions not to move anything.
You can only have 8 people in this house, yet there are enough moose plates for 40 people! Moose and bear plates, cups, glasses, and serving dishes fill the cabinets. There is no place to set your purse down, or a surface on which to open a laptop. The counters are so full of gift shop fodder that you can’t even put a bag of groceries down without bumping into something. It’s like a crowded gift shop.
Beyond the feeling that we were staying in our grandparent’s over crowded home with everything thing they ever owned, there were animal heads hanging everywhere. For our non-hunting, animal-loving family, it was horrifying. This is way beyond an iconic moose head over the mantel. There are dead raccoons, deer, wild boar, bears,
