We stayed at this property the week before July 4th, the house had enough space for our group of 18 people, the views of the property and the neighbor's horses were amazing. We especially enjoyed the open back yard area where we played many rounds of corn hole and the tennis courts. The temperature was wonderful for the middle of summer so we all enjoyed being outside. We even ate two of our dinners on the back porch as there were 3 tables and plenty of room for us. The kitchen was great for cooking and the bottom level kitchen was helpful for our families sharing this house.
We enjoyed our stay, however, this house does need some upgrades. The beds, mattresses, bedding, pillows all need to be upgraded, refreshed and new bedding and linens available. The house was clean, but there were spider webs and could have used a refresh before we got there, looked like it had been cleaned a month or two ago, but not before our stay. We loved the movie room, but there was a really loud noise coming from the HVAC (we think) during the movies, so the back row had a very hard time hearing the movies when this was running.

23 of us came from NY, TX, CO, IL and PA and met at the house for our family reunion. The house was absolutely perfect and so well stocked with amenities. The pickleball court was a huge hit. The location was perfect for hikes and day trips to Blowing Rock. The agency was extremely communicative and helpful with all our questions and needs. It was a perfect weekend for our crazy crew!

We stayed at this property with our son (8) and his friends and their families. The house was great for young kids, lots of room for them to run around and play. But cozy where could all spend time together. The kids loved the tennis court, basement and running around in the back yard. The property is approx 35 mins from Hawks Ridge tubing where we went Saturday and the kids had a blast. We were thrilled to know that Doordash delivers to the property to feed an army of hungry young kids. Everything was clean and well kept, no complaints. We can’t wait to go back!

The Appalachian mountain lodge was the perfect place to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We had family ranging in age from 2 to 77 and the lodge offered comfortable accommodations and enjoyable activities for all! The property manager was responsive and helpful when we had questions or requests. We will be looking for an excuse to return!

Annual Family reunion(30+ years running) for 20 people, all ages. This property and management team for property is
" best overall" that we have experienced. 5 star legit!

23 of us had a wonderful time - we cooked big meals, played tennis and pool, loved the hottub, and enjoyed every room in the house. Petfect for large groups with lots of different interests.
Yoga up.the road a bonus. Hosts were responsive to our questions. Great stay!

The property was beautiful sunrise watching the mountain tops illuminate with the sun was breathtaking.

Property was as described. Lots of things for the children to do. They hiked up the hill, played ball, basketball, rolled down hills. We had a party of 27.

The house and property had everything we needed! Close to Boone and other towns though far enough away to not feel too crowded with people. Great place for a Family Reunion!!
3.0
We had some issues with linens not provided, flat air mattresses and poor mattress conditions for the pullout sofas and trundle bed. They don’t provide extra towels, linens, soap or trash bags if you need those things you have to bring with you. The freezer was also a little dirty. The grass also wasn’t mowed and they showed up to mow during our stay which was odd as we are trying to enjoy sitting on the back porch but someone is mowing the backyard. It can also be a little warm in the house since it is 3 stories and many bodies in the home. It is away from the city so that is nice but the house is next to another house on property and there was a different group renting the house having a birthday party so it was a little loud at times with the neighbors music playing loud.

Great house! There were some minor issues when we first moved in, but overall the week was wonderful

Great house for my large family. The house’s 3 common areas were especially suitable.
The experience at this house was enjoyed by everyone in my family, ages 7-75. I highly recommend this home.

Could have been better
The property is in dire need of maintenance. Doors broken, bannister to second floor unstable, air conditioning needs fixing. Major deep cleaning is needed. Well below the standards expected for the price paid.

Beautiful property perfect for a large group
The house was perfect for our large group ranging in ages from infant to 60s, with nearly every age in between. Between the tennis courts, game rooms, theater room, and beautiful porch and view, there was plenty to do. The layout of the house is wonderful and every single room is spacious and comfortable. The property owners and management company were very helpful and made check-in and check-out easy and efficient. There was a small unavoidable issue with the home during our stay, and both owner and manager went out of their way to work everything out for us. I would recommend this home to anyone!

3 Generations had a great time!
The back porch has an amazing view of the blue ridge mountains. Our family enjoyed pickle ball and the fire pit. The kitchen has most everything you need for cooking for a large family (basement oven does not work if you are needing extra oven space - there is a double oven in the main kitchen).

Everything was wonderful. Riah was always there to answer any question that I had. The kids didn't want to leave and want to know when we can go back. We had a great week.

Wedding Celebration in Boone
This house was just perfect for our family and friends that came to celebrate my daughter’s marriage. There was ample space for everyone and the game room downstairs was rated top notch everyone. The view is spectacular and is close to Boone and Blowing Rock. I would highly recommend this house for large gatherings!

The gift of 2021
This trip was a gift from a beautiful big hearted man, who brought together our family for the first time in some years and after some difficult struggles, was the perfect house and setting. Plenty of space for gathering and connecting as well as for private time and reflections. If you like to bring people together over creating a meal this is your place because it has a fully equipped kitchen. The common spaces provided plenty of ways to bring joy and even more happiness...hot tub, pool table, games, tennis court, surround sound theatre....a perfect vacation. And they lived happily ever after.

The house we stayed in Appalachian mountain lodge was a beautiful home with potential, unfortunately it lacked a lot of cleaning it had a lot of broken items and the top 2 bedrooms on the 3rd floor leaked water into the 2nd level so we were unable to use them. The hot tub was not clean at all. There was chips and sand left in the children's room on level one the trundle bed. I feel like even though it is the kids room they deserve clean bedding as well. The TV in the lockout suite did not work there was not enough bandwidth for them to be able to use it for anything which is a disappointment when you don't have inside access to a house. Also there were no knobs on their closet doors the bifold doors in the rack they were equipped with to hang their clothes on fell as soon as they put items on it. The railing from the 3rd level floor was broken leading to the main floor. There were cobwebs in the kitchen ceiling as well as the hood over the cooktop was covered in dust probably a quarter inch thick which I cleaned myself so that I was able to cook without being grossed out. The property is beautiful like I said it has a lot of potential overall I was disappointed in some of the details as we paid quite a bit for this beautiful home. I would maybe use Carolina cabin rentals again if they would compensate me on some of these items as I was not able to use all of the amenities in the house.

Great Large Family Reunion Home
Found this listing online and at first you are a bit scared of what you are going to run into when you arrive. I communicated with Cabin personnel and they really have great communication. Everything was excellent including our arrival and check in was very easy. We all gathered together for Thanksgiving 28 total guest. The home is perfect for this. You feel as if you are in your own personal resort. The home is very well kept and stocked with plenty of items including games for all. The views of the home are amazing. Blue Ridge Mountain View’s. Backyard is so fun! Tennis court with all amenities to play! Theater was the highlight after a long day to gather and watch movies. Overall we would book it again as it really was a family vacation that we will never forget!

Perfect for large group stay!
This house was excellent for our group of friends. With plenty of king and queen beds we had the best time. Beds were comfortable and rooms were well equipped with Roku's and smart tv's. The theater room is easy to work and so fun for movie nights. The yard is huge with excellent amenities. We even had a fun visit from the next door horses in our yard. Kitchen had everything you could need for stay. although the downstairs kitchen is mostly for show, the oven and stove don't work. Would definitely come back!

Great place to stay
This place was an amazing place to stay! It had so much to do no need to go anywhere! We loved just about everything there. But for such a nice place they need to put some love into making sure ALL guest have comfortable mattresses for a good night's sleep. I have slept on better mattresses in a hotel. The pullout bed were all nothing but springs. I wouldn't even expect a dog to sleep on the pullout mattresses much less a human. Anyone that was supposed to sleep on a pullout just had to cover a couch and sleep on a couch. The mattresses on the beds weren't as bad but definitely not comfortable and very noisy. Couldn't move a bit without awful noise.

Appalachian Mountain Lodge
Our weekend stay was absolutely wonderful and we had a great time. However, the cleaning of the lodge was not the best. Upon arrival, there was a bag of food left with maggots inside the bag. There was also trash in some restrooms that wasn't taken out, and the oven was grimy. Other than the cleaning issues, the lodge was beautiful and we enjoyed our weekend.

Family Reunion stay
We rented both Appalachian mountain Lodge and Mountain Family Lodge for a family reunion. It worked really well for us. We enjoyed the yard space for our family games. On the back patio/ porch there were quite a few broken chairs that were there ..... I wished those had been removed. Overall the place was generally clean, though there was dust in the corners. I would return .......... it was a great space for out family reunion. We all had a nice big area to gather and we also had our own space to go.

Excellent Home with Amazing Ameneties
We had a great time at Appalachian Mountain Lodge this weekend. It is close to Boone so access to restaurants and stores is 10 minutes away. The house has so much to offer and for our group (14 people), there was something for everybody. House was tastefully decorated. We do a trip like this twice a year and a lot of times, houses this size have minor issues. Not with this house, every light bulb worked, every toilet flushed, all the heaters worked and so on. The theater room was incredible! We will definitely be returning to this home next year.
A few other thoughts and suggestions: with a house this big, there was a very small coffee pot. We had to make 3 pots just so all 14 people could have enough coffee in the morning. The WIFI was relatively inconsistent downstairs. I ran my own CAT5 cable from the repeater to the theater room so we could watch a pay-per-view UFC event on an AppleTV that I brought. Running a separate network downstairs would be ideal. Also, the water pressure was generally pretty weak in most of the house. Other than that, the house is perfect.

Great house for a crowd
This house was perfect for eight couples. Lots of places to get away. Basement had foozball, shuffleboard and pool table. Corn hole & bags were outside and even pickle ball paddles and balls. We used it all! Upstairs there was a large den with big tv, large living room and a huge dining room table that was a let to sit all 16 of us. We will definitely be renting again for our annual golf get away.

The Appalachian Mountain Lodge is a beautiful place to get together. The rooms are spacious. We were surprised, tho, with so many bathrooms, not all bedrooms had one and one didn't have a closet. --the location where it is built is perfect to watch the sunrise on the back deck with your morning coffee and watch the deer run through the back yard going to the apple tree. The numerous flowers attracted many butterflies. --the kids were busy at the tennis courts, in the game room with the pool table and other games to play. It was our 1st time with so many people. Many of us have rented homes before, so not totally new to the process. We would go back. Thank you for sharing it. There's hiking/walking areas not far which we used.

Applalachain Mountain Lodge is the Perfect location and the home is very well equipped. We are a family of 28 and it met all of our needs. The staff at Carolina Cabin Rentals are very accommodating, professional and considerate. While our trip consisted of meeting with relatives and revisiting our roots, we found immeasurable activities within a 10 mile range which included Horseback riding, Kayaking, tubing, white water rafting, hiking, gem mining, picnics on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain. Boone and Blowing Rock are lovely cities and the views are majestic. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Appalachian Mt. Lodge.

Good afternoon, sorry for responding so late but we really enjoyed the Appalachian property. Elizabeth was so pleasant and helpful in showing us around the property. The only issue we had was the water pressure in the house and the hot water. Also there was no large frying pan for cooking but other than that I would recommend this property to my family and friends, and we would love to go and stay there again. Thank you for making us comfortable in your home.

The setting was beautiful and the two lodges next to each other made the perfect place for our family reunion. However, I just spent too much time addressing issues with the entrance codes for the smaller cottages, TVs that didn't work, etc. to fully enjoy the vacation. I do thank the staff for addressing and fixing the problems in a prompt manner.

Perfect Group Vacation Home
We loved our stay at the Appalachian Mountain Lodge! It was the perfect place for our large multi-family group. The kids loved the game room and the movie room. The large dining room table was perfect for group meals. The kitchen had all of the essentials, making it easy for us to prepare meals. We also appreciated having the extra kitchen downstairs for extra fridge storage. The tennis court was in great condition for a couple of our star tennis players!
We were happy with the cleanliness of the home and had all of the linens and towels we needed.
The only downside was several bee stings due to the field of clovers in the backyard. The kids enjoying running around in the back yard and playing games, and several got stung because there were so many bees on the clovers. I'm not sure what to suggest to address that, but just something to be aware of.
Separately from the house, I was so impressed with my interactions with the Carolina Cabin Rentals staff. I spoke mostly with Tim and Justin. From the moment I inquired about a rental and throughout our stay, the staff was always friendly and helpful.
Overall, we LOVED our stay and our experience with Carolina Cabin Rentals! We hope to be back next year!

Great Stay at the Appalachian Lodge
Overall a great experience, everyone loved it. House was perfectly suited for our family and really well-appointed. Only a few minor recommendations : many of the beds "squeak" pretty loudly from the box springs or below the mattress, simple fix that several people mentioned. The stairs from the main floor to the lower level are pretty loud and were hard to get up and down without waking kids up at night. The lower level laminate floors are sliding up in a few areas, which could become a trip hazard. The window treatments in certain bedrooms were pretty thin and a few mentioned they would have liked to see blackouts to filter out light shining in from the exterior landscape lighting or waking up with the sunrise. Ultimately, great property and great experience, just a few thoughts if you wanted to tweak anything. Thank you

Beautiful House, poor maintenance/cleaning
This property was beautiful with a great layout and amount of space for our group of 24 adults. Unfortunately the house was not cleaned properly before our arrival. There were crumbs on the couches and the floor had not been vacuumed. The windows were dirty and there was hair in a shower. For the $500+ cleaning fee I do not find that condition acceptable. We were not notified in advance where our additional cottage was and had to wait for hours for someone to come and show us. There is no cell reception for T-Mobile users but if you have Verizon you're in good shape. There were a few maintenance issues we came across with loose cabinet panels and tricky doorknobs. Overall the house was great for our group but when you drive for 10 hours and then have to clean the house you're staying at it's a bit frustrating.
