About this cottage rental
From the moment you round the bend in the driveway and see the contrast between the sparkling blue of the sea and the green of the expansive lawn, you will know you have found a little piece of heaven. Step into the Honeymoon Cottage and be struck by the cozy warmth of the pine-clad walls and cleanliness of your surroundings. Settle in and enjoy the splashing of the waves at high tide, watch lobstermen hauling their traps and boats sailing, and listen to the eagles soaring overhead or loons calling one another.
Wooden stairs to the shore allow easy access for swimming, collecting sea glass, and launching your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. If you have a larger boat (or wish to rent one) it can be launched nearby.
The deck is furnished with an umbrella patio table, four chairs, and a pristine Weber Grill for your barbeque creations. The lawn is the perfect place to play croquet, bocce ball, or fetch with your dog. Two lounge chairs can be placed anywhere on the lawn for sunbathing or enjoying the blue of the sea and the aroma of the salt air.
This immaculate cottage is designed to provide visitors a relaxing stay. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other housing a washer and dryer. The bedroom has a comfortable king sized bed. The kitchen is very well appointed. The living room is inviting with comfy furniture, a television, telephone, and wifi. The whole cottage is infused with natural light. Enjoy ocean views from mostly every window and the sound of the tide ebbing and flowing create a restorative sense of tranquility. This is the perfect place for a couple's restful retreat or as a base for half or full day trips to many area attractions. The owners are attentive but unobtrusive and do everything to make guests feel welcome. Nearly everything you will need except clothing, food, and medications is provided. Come, relax and soak up the peace and serenity this beautiful spot provides.
If you want to be away from it all but within striking distance of wonderful restaurants, shopping, and museums, this is the place for you. The Honeymoon Cottage is less than a half hour drive to Rockland.
The beauty of the area has enchanted and drawn many artists to locate and/or summer here - - the most famous being the Wyeth family. Rockland's Farnsworth Art Museum is world-class and has a separate building housing three generations of Wyeth art. Drive 10 minutes to "Christina's World," the property where Andrew Wyeth painted this famous painting. Art galleries abound in the mid-coast area. In addition, Cushing has a wonderful weekend program called Arts in The Barn. From mid-June through the end of August, local artists exhibit their works at the Cushing Historical Society. It is a great way to view local talent as well as socialize with locals and summer visitors.
Our property is located on a popular destination road for walking and biking. Walk the "loop" or explore the nearby Cushing Nature Preserve. Area restaurants are plentiful and range from Moody's Diner to Primo's. Primo’s chef/owner is a 2x James Beard Award Winner (advance reservations required). Explore Mohegan, Islesboro, North Haven, and/or Vinalhaven islands by area ferries. Visit beautiful area lighthouses. Take day sails from Rockland or Camden. Visit the charming town of Damariscotta then take a scenic ride to Pemaquid Point lighthouse. Visit the Maritime Museum in Bath or the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport. Spend a day at the spectacular Boothbay Botanical Gardens.
We welcome your dog (a pet fee applies) and hope they will enjoy their stay as well. Please clean up after your dog whether in our yard or walking in the neighborhood. In addition, please crate your dog if you leave your pet behind while out exploring.

We spent a week at this little gem, and from our time of arrival until our departure, we couldn't have found a thing to complain about even if we tried. Such a beautiful, peaceful, private location, right on the water with views that only God could have created. The cottage itself is super clean and charming, we found the bed to be very comfortable, and the view of the sun rising over the ocean is worth the price of admission. When they say you don't have to bring anything but clothes and food, they are not kidding. There was not one thing that we needed that was not already provided. Our hosts, Pat & Bill could not have been more friendly or helpful. Thank you, Pat & Bill, for what may have been the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Cheers!

This Honeymoon Cottage is truly beyond breathtaking with the setting at the waters edge. The property owners were so wonderful, friendly, and thoughtful. My husband and I had the most relaxing time visiting Cushing and staying at the Cottage. It had everything we needed and more and was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I wish I could have rated it a 10 versus a 5 in all categories.

Honeymoon Cottage
We were fortunate to stay two weeks at this amazing cottage by the sea. The landscape is incredibly picturesque. The cottage is spotless, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hosts are friendly and endearing. They went out of their way to make certain that we had everything we needed including fresh lobster. My only regret is that we had to leave. Thanks for the marvelous memories Pat and Bill.

Will Not Disappoint!
Perfect location, perfect weather, perfect cottage - what a great week! Thanks, Pat, for all the special touches - the fresh flowers, the blueberry jam & the muffins. The cottage was SUPER clean and well appointed. We spent the beautiful days walking and biking and snuggled into the big comfy bed at night. Hated to leave, hope to be back. Thanks for sharing your special place!

Honeymoon Cottage is perfect!
We were fortunate to find this property to explore a new area in Maine. Upon arriving to find little personal touches throughout to welcome us was great. We knew we made the right choice. Meeting Pat and Bill it was obvious the cottage was very special to them and it is now to us as well. Highly recommend.

Great Little getaway
This is a very cute little house in a wonderful location. The house has everything you could want and the owners are very accommodating and helpful. If you want to get away from it all this is the place for you just five steps from the ocean.

Perfect cottage and perfect hosts.
Upon arrival we entered a beautiful private drive, leading to the most idyllic cottage sited on a gorgeous lawn that sloped down to the water. The expansive water views were breath taking. We could hear lobster boats in the distance and waves lapping against the rocky shoreline. It truly is an enchanting cottage and magical setting. The cottage was perfect in every way: charming; inviting; immaculate; cozy; and beautifully appointed with lovely décor and architectural design. The gracious hosts anticipated every need imaginable and even welcomed our small dog with food bowls set at the perfect height for his small frame. He loved playing fetch on the lawn. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked and the bed was luxurious. We can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful hosts and their enchanting cottage by the sea. Thank you for a beautiful and extraordinary stay.

First time to Maine - and certainly not the last
Our week at Honeymoon Cottage was everything we were looking for...and more. On arrival our immediate impression was that of a cosy, modern, well equipped and immaculately presented 'home away from home' - but with the most amazing setting by the ocean and amongst extensive but private grounds. Pat and Bill met us on arrival and made us very welcome - and arranged to source lobsters for us (and cook them to perfection too). We will miss listening to the lobster boats outside in the morning and looking at the stunning sunrise and amazing night sky. The surrounding area is wonderful - we managed to visit 5 lighthouses (our favourites were Owl's Head and Rockland Breakwater). We enjoyed visiting Camden for good shopping and nice restaurants. We hope to return again next year.

Idyllic location
The cabin was exceptionally neat and clean when we arrived. This is truly a beautiful area away from the hustle and bustle of many of the better known coastal cities of Maine; yet Rockland, Camden, and Rockport are only minutes away. We particularly enjoyed our daily hike in the Pleasant Point Nature Preserve which is located just up the street. Overall experience is worthy of five stars.

Better than the pictures!
My husband and I stayed at Pat & Bill’s cottage for a week in mid-August. When we pulled into the driveway, we realized that the scenery was even more beautiful than the pictures!
The neighborhood is very quiet and relaxing and we woke to the sound of lobster boats and light waves every morning.
The cottage has everything you could possibly need and was very clean and tidy. Renting during this COVID outbreak had us a little worried but you could tell the owner’s took special precautions to make sure everything was just right. There were also many thoughtful extras they provided such as fresh picked flowers and lobsters right from their dock!
The entire week was wonderful. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with breathtaking views all around, we highly recommend the
Honeymoon Cottage!

Heaven
We left less than 12 hours ago and if some lucky person wasn't arriving this afternoon we would have turned around and gone back in a nanosecond. Perfect location from sunrise to sunset for a quiet retreat. Lovely hosts who will reserve lobsters for you and teach you how to steam them to perfection. We loved every minute of our time there and will definitely return
Thank you Bill and Pat

Most beautiful spot in Maine!
Gorgeous sunrises and a fantastic view. The cottage is perfect, very comfortable, relaxing, and clean. This was our favorite spot of all the places we've stayed on the mid-coast. The hosts were super nice people. Enjoy!

Lovely little cottage
This cottage was a nice little spot, steps away from the water. The week we stayed there was a little dreary with rain, but the clear nights were lovely for stargazing and the nearby towns had lots of good food options to try. Jameson Point Lobster has the best lobster roll I've ever had.
The only downside we had was that the listing said there was a fireplace, but it appeared to be non-functional, it would've been nice to have a warm fire on some of those chilly nights. The addition of an outdoor firepit would've also been lovely!

The Perfect Cottage
This cottage was a private & tranquil oasis for our vacation. We loved every minute of being there. The house was immaculate and just right for my husband, myself and our dog. The water views from every window were gorgeous & we had most meals on the porch to take full advantage of the soft breeze and to watch the boats go by. Just lovely and deeply relaxing. The property owners were wonderful. They made sure that we had everything we needed & were invested in making our stay a great one. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage! The nearby nature preserves for hiking and the fabulously fresh lobster will keep us coming back!

The best of both worlds!
Quiet, private, picturesque setting with great water and lobster boats working their pots. Would have stayed a month, but work calls. Will try that for next year!

A perfect vacation in Maine
We had a wonderful stay at the honeymoon cottage with our two dogs. They were able to run free on the property and play in the ocean. The cottage is even more lovely in person than the pictures. Everything we needed was provided (except for our clothes and food). We enjoyed properly (perfectly) cooked lobsters delivered to Bill and Pat's dock by Nick the lobsterman. We enjoyed day trips to beaches, lakes, wineries, breweries, lighthouses, nature preserves and the towns of Rockland, Tenants Harbor, and Camden. I especially enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning from the front deck. It was a wonderful trip and the accommodations were charming, comfortable, airy, and immaculately clean. The king size bed, linens, and pillows were excellent quality and we loved falling asleep to the sound of water right outside our window. It was like sleeping on a boat. One week was not enough time to enjoy Maine, the property, the area, and our wonderful hosts, Bill and Pat. There is so much to do in this area of Maine and the property is so wonderful that I wish we could have stayed longer.

Life As It Should Be
We searched for days online to find a spot for us to enjoy with our dog Hudson. We wanted him to be able to run freely and chase his ball, we wanted privacy in a peaceful setting. As you know, you never really know what you're getting until you see it in person. Honeymoon Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is beyond beautiful, right on the water. We were there the first week in July which was a record breaker for heat and humidity, but not here. It is situated in such a way that you constantly have a strong sea breeze to keep comfortable while sitting under the old oak tree. You truly can enjoy the Maine experience by watching the hardworking lobstermen harvesting their traps. The sunrise each morning is an additional treat, pink skies glistening on the waves, sea birds in flight, it's just mesmerizing. The cottage itself is immaculate. So much thought has gone into making sure you have everything you need and more. Pat and Bill are charming folks who genuinely want you to feel welcome, relaxed, worry free, and happy to be spending time in this picture perfect cottage. They are gracious, unobtrusive, and more than willing to help with any of your needs or questions about the area.
This Midcoast section of the state has plenty to offer, quaint fishing villages, historic sites, lighthouses, museums, boat tours, art galleries, and wonderful restaurants.
Be sure to make a reservation well in advance for Primo, a unique farm to table gastronomic experience, in nearby Rockland. The chef is a two time James Beard award winner!
The beauty of this cottage is that it is close enough to tour the sites and hidden away enough to enjoy peace, quiet, and tranquility. I am not a traveler who typically returns to the same places year after year. I never understood why folks do but Honeymoon Cottage has taught me a lesson. What could be better than this?
