Exceptional

We loved absolutely everything. The location could not have been better, staff so polite and friendly, good choice of food at the breakfast bar , nice and easy excess to the pool, not too noisy with night entertainmen but still tropical, portugease nights/ dancing and signing events ( just not too many which was great) clean rooms and fresh towels provided everyday , we are really pleased and planning to come back; nice clean pool and warm water , great indoor pool pool, sauna, jacuzzi , all you really need ,highly recommended

I woukd like a gel manicure and pedicure to be available, a simple polish would not last if in a swimming pool every day .....

Not a 4 stars hotel - 2 to 3 stars only

Hotel is well placed on the lido, one of the most pleasant hotel in the area with not so many rooms, a wonderfull swimming pool surronded by few palm threese

Some staf member were definitely nice, helping during breakfast, lunch and dinner with a very positive & supporting attitude. The rest of the staff make you feel that you are here to spend your money. Definitely a very bad experience with some staff member on the parking of the hotel. Hotel shows 4 starts, price are 4 stars but supporting service is about 1 star only. We have been asked quiet badly to move our car by some staff and this person clearly asked us to "move anywhere but get out of my hotel" . Definitely not a 4 stars hotel attitude. (knowing that a car park was available in the hotel, he did not even mentionned it) Dinner are also hell expensive (buffet = 30€) - Better enjoy Funchal !

Exceptional

Facility was great, easy to get around. Plenty to do and keep kids entertained. The staff went above any beyond and only happy to help whenever possible. Rooms were kept clean and no issues with extra towels etc

The Deck bar beside the swimming pool was extremely expensive and unfortunately meant we didn't stay on site throughout the day for this reason. If the price and quality of food matched it would have not been an issue but an example of a Cesar salad costing over €12 and it was extremely small was just one issue

We didn't like booking for 10 nights accommodation and being offered a poor quality bed and bedroom

Pestana hotel charged us for 10 nights accommodation and only provided us with 7 quality nights so the hotel owes us a refund for 3 nights which we are still waiting for.

Not as I expected, lack of genuine reviews

It’s not as good as it’s rated unfortunately! best parts: pool and ocean view from Balcony are great and apart from that it’s good for nothing! staff is so pleasant and welcoming!

-cleanliness in the corner of rooms and bathrooms -most uncomfortable spring beds I have ever seen in any 4 or 5 star hotel please do something about that - breakfast is so dull and not fresh (fruits) -price as per the service in that area you can find much better options in the same price

excellent location and been before , great staff

dirty. towels dirty, room or serviced. room damp and mouldy and stank of it. bed damp and leak under floor as was lifting up. chunk out of wall and cracks and marks all over.

All the facilites available including indoor pool and sauna as well as huge massage pool. Garden very good taken care of, outside pools very large. Rooms very big.

Hotel for package tourists in the Funchal hotel area not a boutique hotel, Breakfast choice could include dried ham and definitely better meat products.

Great resort, recommended

Beautiful surroundings, views and lovely pools. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Well-placed and easy to access Funchal and the rest of the island.

Laundry service very expensive, nowhere to dry clothes after rain or a hand wash. Tiles around pool very slippery, nearly went over a few times!

Definitely worth visiting.

Car park at the hotel had adequate price. Room had a good size, beds were comfortable, staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was delicious.

Coffee at breakfast tasted a lot like instant coffee. But it is really the only thing I can find to complain about.

Enjoyable, comfortable enough, warm .

Breakfast was great. Variety good. Lovely to sit outside to eat. Coffee awful Tea making facilities was brilliant. Pity your cleaning staff were not allowed to replenish this facility daily.

Buffet on the Saturday (1 Oct) was appalling . Almost inedible. Didn’t risk eating there again. TV channel were poor . Nothing to watch except football. You need to think more about those who are infirm. You need to put showers in the bathrooms instead of shower/ bath.neither my sister or husband could shower as they couldn’t get into or out of the bath as the sides of the bath were too high. Shower mats for non slip surface are essential. You need more chairs around the pool. Older people can’t get up and out of the loungers . Too low. My husband and sister chose to stay in their rooms rather than sit with me by the pool as they couldn’t sit anywhere despite the pool staff searching for chairs for us. WIFi not secure. Wasn’t tech savi enough toknow how to change this. Not a big deal but a though for the future.
