I stayed one night and arrived shortly before my dinner booking after a very very long drive. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. I had dinner in the restaurant which was tasty and good value for money. Breakfast was also very good - buffet style with everything you could want. The room was clean, well appointed and perfectly adequate. There are no amenities (other than shampoo and conditioner in dispensers in the shower). There is no airconditioning so the room got a bit stuffy as it was a warm night. Had I not been so tired on arrival I'd have spotted a plug in fan in the wardrobe...
The car park is monitored with security barriers and the location is very close to the M6 from either the north or south and makes an ideal overnight stop en route to or from Scotland to the South. The spa facilities looked good - I did use the pool and steam room early morning before I set off on the next leg of my journey and both were good. All in all a nice place to stay and more personal than the big branded hotels.
Nothing - I thought this was a really nice, comfortable, clean, welcoming hotel.

Staff were very friendly, I was in the annex which was very quiet and clean
Being in the annex I felt away from the hotel a bit but that was it , apart from maybe an expensive place to stay

The check in was simple and quick. The room was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant menu has been changed and was improved from previously and the dishes I chose were lovely. The hot buffet styled breakfast has been changed to cooked o order and was much better and delicious. Overall much better than we’d previously experienced over 2-3 stays.

The location and Decor
The deluxe room was tiny and the bed was definitely not king size very dissatisfied

Room was compact but comfortable and the en suite had a bath! Particularly loved the milk fridge on each floor where you could get small bottles of fresh milk for making tea and coffee in your room. The pool is a good size and the sauna, steam room and health suite are excellent. There is also a gym and spa treatments on offer though we did not take advantage of these. Staff all friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and the general ambience is relaxing and luxurious. Plenty of parking.
The safe in our room didn't work, but as we were only staying for one night, we just didn't bother with it.

The hot buffet section of the breakfast was poor. Some of the food had obviously been sitting for quite a while and was dry and lukewarm. The black pudding for example was simply inedible as it was so dry and hard

The property was very clean and the food in the restaurant was exceptional.
Overall we were very disappointed. We upgraded to a King executive room which turned out to be nothing more than a standard room with 2 single beds pushed together. The bed was not comfortable as a result as there was a big dip in the middle where the beds joined.
Additionally don’t be fooled by the pictures. A bath is NOT standard in the executive room. We had a small bathroom with walk in shower. When I enquired at reception about this they told me I should have asked for a bath when I booked. But all of the photos of the executive rooms show baths.
The room itself was clean and ok but bizarrely the executive rooms are directly above the function room so for the first couple of hours we had booming music coming through the floor. If this had gone on late we would have had to move as it was like being above a nightclub.
The bar wasn’t well stocked. We asked for cocktails which apparently they didn’t do and even something as simple as pineapple juice wasn’t available. I think 4 stars is overrated for Barton Manor now and we certainly wouldn’t pay for the upgrade here ever again as it is definitely not worth the money.

Good locationNice atmospheric place
Barry admittance very off putting
Why is it there
Only get two cars on the drive off the busy main road

Barton Manor is just off the A6 but our room was quiet enough even with a wedding that day. Food was good, breakfast good with lots of choices and service very efficient and friendly. Swimming pool was deserted so we had it to ourselves. We used the hotel as an overnight stop on the way to Chester and it worked very well. Would stay again.
Safe in the room was locked, should have mentioned it to staff! A minor niggle.

The room, the facilities, the environmental
There was no fridge in the room. Not much variety of the buffet.

Lovely pool. Room had a nice view and was comfortable, with a large bed and blackout curtains. Staff were lovely and I appreciate the 24 hour reception

More tea/coffee and snacks in room and more toiletries

Breakfast was good
The room was very small wasn’t worth the £110 hat was paid
The spa was very basic I had very high expectations from reading the website but it was no where near close to my expectations or near to what the website stated
I paid £15 for the Romance package to have a couple of rose petals on the best no chocolates just the rose petals which I wasn’t happy with paying £15 with.
We arrived at 2pm but the room wasn’t ready for an hour and a half

Large rooms and very clean and modern. Every member of staff I spoke to was welcoming friendly and helpful and went the extra mile. I will stay here again. Just sorry I never found it before.

Pretty room and nice bathroom. The gym was well equipped and the breakfast was good.
The intense smell at the entrance was overwhelmingly bad, like 10 Glade plug-ins. Not pleasant. For an Exec Room I was disappointed with the size that I didn't feel matched the price. The first room we were allocated was over the kitchen fans and definitely not worthy of £171.00. We were, however moved. And we were disappointed with the Spa having no jacuzzi. For the extra effort of finishing the pool bay, it was such a shame the finishing touches weren't made. And the quilt was not large enough for the bed.

Decent size room, nice and clean. Restaurant had plenty of choice and food was good. Friendly staff, very polite and helpful. Large car park which felt safe and secure.
EE phone signal is bad and the wifi wasn't great. Gardeners cutting bushes and blowing leaves left debris on car.

nice location. quiet breakfast was nice. staff were great.
the bed was not comfy.
our bathroom kept smelling like sewerage as did the bottom of the stairs.
the steps into the pool were not clean so I didn’t go in.
nice place but not worth the amount of money I paid.
we didn’t have the Bluetooth speak that the room apparently had.
not much on the menu. I understand people go out but when you have been out all day you want to come back and eat and relax.

The food was delicious, loved our roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and our breakfasts
There was something in the room , some kind of sanitizer or cleaning agent that gave me a choking cough, it got worse when entering the room. We opened the window and hung the do not disturb on the door that seemed to help a bit , it didn’t bother my wife.
It would have been great if you had maps of the public foot paths in your vicinity, we did find one across the road from your entrance, alls great 😊

Nice room. Very nice service at breakfast the waiters were very attentive. I love that you can get fresh milk for your tea in the fridge in the corridor. I wish all Hotels were this innovative! Breakfast was huge and delicious generous portions but I suspect it was because we were the last ones in! Staff were lovely
, very friendly and polite.
Room was rather small, I thought the cost was quite high for a small room, though it was very clean. We have stayed many times before and the cost of the room seems to have increased dramatically.

very limited malt whisky selection!

Most things were of a good standard including the location, facilities and the staff who could not have been more helpful
The booking was for 2 rooms but they were on different floors. I had expected us to be close by each other. The room I occupies was described as Deluxe King Room. Comfortable but small for Deluxe. Expensive at £264 for one person for 2 nights plus breakfast at £15 per day. On day one the sausages were undercooked but everything else good. Day 2 the bacon was taken away after someone described it as green and had to wait a while for bacon and hash browns to be replenished. 13 of us (8 adults & 5 children) had Sunday lunch - food could only be described as OK - the food bill was £400.

This Hotel exceeded our expectations with the facilities on offer, and the friendliness and politeness of the staff who were on hand to assist us with whatever needs we had.
The Room was very well appointed with a very comfortable bed, and offered a fitted unit for tea coffee facilites etc. The Bathroom had a spacious walk in Shower.
The food was excellent and a good menu to choose from each evening in the Restaurant, which overlooked the Garden.
Breakfast was served informally with a Self Service Buffet.
The gardens were attractively laid out, and good for a short relaxing stroll in them.
A very well equipped spa was provided, with a beautiful swimming pool which we unfortunately did not use.
Not much to say here. Can't think of anything
