Beautiful setting with gorgeous rooms. Outdoor pool was a big highlight.
Our room was unfortunately so hot. We were unable to get a good nights sleep. Tossed and turned into the early hours. The temperatures reached to about 17 degrees in the day and dropped to about 11 degrees overnight, so a good temperature but not the expectation of the room to maintain that kind of heat and be unable to cool down. We had all the windows wide open in our room and remained extremely hot. I am also 7 months pregnant so I appreciate I may be hotter than the average person, however my husband was the same. I called down to reception at about 21:30 and asked for a fan, was told they would get back to me in 10 minutes but never heard anything further. Sadly when we came to check out, I mentioned this to the staff who were very apologetic and friendly and did state they have fans that could have been provided. This is quite disappointing as one never appeared. This is a premium hotel charging about £300 per night, yet this is a level of service I would expect to be a great deal higher. Due to this reason I would be very reluctant to stay again, let alone in the height of summer. The heated towel rail remained on, under floor heating in the bathroom and we needed to turn off the fridge due to the amount of heat it was pumping out. I’m very disappointed to have had such poor nights sleep in such a beautiful hotel and location. Surely air conditioning is something to be considered?

Our room was clean, comfortable with a well stocked bathroom and toiletries. The mini fridge had a small bottle of fresh milk in it. Tea and coffee in plenty of supply.
Breakfast is served at the table and ordered from a menu. It was okay, the cooked breakfast was a little lacking.
Location is stunning set on the headland overlooking the bay and a short walk to the golden sand beach.
Wasn't over keen on the breakfast, I think a little more information on how much you can order would be helpful.
Also the stairs up to the rooms, 3 flights made me puff by the time i got to the top floor.

Location was great and the spa area was beautiful.
Noisy outside of our room and woke us up early, and the breakfast was sub par, nothing special.

Food was great as was the location.
No lift upto the top floor. No AC and had a sleepless night because of this.

The location and the spa
The very slow service from the waiting on staff
4.3
Staff flexible and accommodating, had birthday cake and they allowed us to eat it in lounge

The location was idyllic.
Slightly strange layout and mixture of buildings. Reception area needs to be first port of call and it’s tucked around the side. Working in interior design I would perhaps change the Reception other than this it’s a wonderful hotel and location.

Spa, location , room was lovely
Windows need a bit of update as we couldn’t open the windows at night when it was hot … the windows would shut on their own

The Carbis Bay Hotel is beautiful - looking out straight over the beach - we were lucky to be upgraded to a suite with a balcony nearly on the beach.
The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly and we had such a lovely time.
Whilst the staff were amazing, the hotel, because of it's location may not be suitable for all wheelchair users. The inclines around the hotel are really steep and you either need to be really fit, or have people around you that are really fit, to be able to get from the suites up to the restaurant and spa. I now use an omeo chair that made short work of the hills but my old mobility scooter would have struggled.
The spa is beautiful - and there is a ramp to the heated outdoor pool. The hotel have a portable ramp to enable wheelchair users to get out of the restaurant and into the spa and all the staff in the spa were lovely - especially Linda. If you are unable to do a few steps getting into and out of the wonderful hydrotherapy pool would not be possible as there are steps leading up to it.
