Had to leave 😞

Amazing friendly staff, great customer service, very large room, very comfortable. Excellent location with huge garden and direct access to the Forest for a lovely walk. I went with my dog and it was superb dog friendly.
Everything was great, clean and staff exceptional. I come to new Forest lots and this is one of the best hotels overall I have experienced, and I have stayed in some of the really “popular and posh” once.

Very friendly staff who were happy to help and offer their services. Lovely back garden, walking out into the New Forest. Great location for starting our cycling adventure.
We didn't have a dog with us, but the hotel is dog friendly with dog treats and beds available.
Not great soundproofing - we were in Room 18 on the ground floor and could hear noises from upstairs - not sure if it was the water pump after a toilet was flushed, or from the shower - but quite noisy. And also noisy guests departing a party about 1am on the Saturday night.

very clean and big room

the garden and forest were stunning. The halls were beautiful
No socket for shaving in the Bathroom
4.2
The room was beautiful with gorgeous views over the garden. The bed was comfy and we had a great night sleep as the hotel was very quiet. You could hear a pin drop at night.
The shower lacked power in our room, which was a little disappointing.
4.2
Easy to find, great staff, good food in restaurant, room basic but as required.
Smell of dog, particularly in the corridor to my room - very strong and whilst in my room I got the odd whiff but not as bad.
4.2
Excellent location for walking in forest. Delicious dinner and option of cooked breakfast with veggie and vegan options to your liking. Well stocked bar and have a small selection of board games to play if you want
Characterful old building, with lovely gardens to relax in and a general chilled atmosphere. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Easy to park and Dog friendly.
Comfy beds and additional comfort considered- eg: portable electric plug-in heater in room⁷
Old building so thin walls and ceilings that can easily hear guests walking around, flushing the toilet, coughing etc. Noisy mechanical pumps could be heard in the morning for some reason.
The TV was too small for our room ( #6) esp since it was situated on a bracket above the wardrobe.
Continental breakfast is cereal not pastries, baked goods and fresh fruit as expected

I thought the breakfast was costly considering the amount. Poached eggs were horrible and hard extremely small portion of beans it also took a while to get tomato ketchup
From outside the hotel was tired… when I was sat on the bed a pale yellow wet patch came through so I suspect dog urine. The bathroom was not great around the floor and skirtings it was dirty and the toilet dirty . My son did not even want to put his feet on the floor . On leaving I did give feedback and said I wasn’t happy with the cleanliness. On the second night people were above us and they were extremely noisy and myself and som were woken several times. Corridor leading to room smelt of urine . I thought they might of offered some kind of compensation. They didn’t just apologised and said they would let housekeeper know . That’s not why I gave feedback though I gave it so they can improve. Got to say the two younger ladies were nice and especially the young blonde hair lady was really nice and helpful.

The staff were so lovely and friendly and even provided room service for dinner as I was travelling alone. The room was a lovely size and the surroundings were very secluded making it peaceful and giving me a restful night. There was a fridge in the room also for milk.
The hot water in my shower didn't work so I had to use another room's shower which was slightly awkward running back from one room to mine! No one's fault but hope it was fixed for the next guests!

We have been many times over the past five years and the staff are exceptional and friendly - they create a great atmosphere.
The setting is amazing with lots of walks and friendly local pubs
4.2
The location was lovely, breakfast was tasty and there was lots of choice. The staff was friendly, helpful and always available. Got great advice from one of them - she told me about a short walk we did and enjoyed. The conservatory and garden was lovely.
The room was dark even with the light on. There was no remote for the television in our room so we could not turn it on. I radiators in the room would not come on and could not be adjusted. The main bed was comfortable but I’m not sure if the floor was uneven because I kept feeling like I was rolling out of it. My daughters shared a bed on the second night because the mattress on one of their beds was so uncomfortable she couldn’t sleep on it

Location was good for where we wanted to base our short break and not too far from the main thoroughfare.
The room we had was airy and spacious with a view of the garden.
The bathroom was a good size and clean with a small selection of toiletries.
I was pleased to note that rooms would only be tended during our stay if requested.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The noise ingress from the adjoining bathrooms was noticeable. We appreciate where old estate houses are converted for modern day travellers with en suite facilities the water pipes and extractor systems have to be on the interiors of the buildings but people around us running taps at 2 am did wake us. We were only staying 2 nights so did not consider requesting a room change but think we would have if we'd been staying longer.
Although we didn't want our room tended or towels changed I left a note requesting additional tea tray items but these did not arrive in our room so had to be requested when we returned.

Property and grounds were lovely. A family and dog friendly accommodation. (probably not a place for anyone who doesn't like dogs). Room and bathroom were lovely.
Wifi didn't work
