A compact room with a delightful view of the harbour, excellent breakfast and friendly hosts.
This didn't worry us but there are many stairs which may deter some people: clearly, that is the nature of the house and has to be borne in mind when booking.

Lovely Georgian house in a quiet location .Next time
Next we will opt for a shower rather than a bath in our room.

A Very comfy room with four poster bed, sea views of the harbour and out to sea. Great amenities, lovely ensuite with a great shower. We took our dog with us who was welcomed with his own bowls, treats, dog mattress and blanket. Breakfast was amazing, delicious full English, freshly cooked, as well as fruit and cereals. The hosts are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble for them. Definitely going back!
Nothing. Everything was great.

Tall Stories is an absolute gem. A lot is compressed into a small space, but that adds to the charm. Perfectly located in the old town, just a short walk to the harbour, it exudes an old-school charm. Spotlessly clean and tidy, there is meticulous attention to detail. Ian and Morna are lovely hosts. Warm and congenial, they know what they are doing, and they are a class act.
For a guest house, it's one of the few we have experienced where it would be no hardship to stay "home" all day if you were forced to. A top-notch find. Plan far in advance to be lucky to stay here, as they have a loyal customer base that keeps returning. Yes, it is THAT good. And breakfast is gorgeous!
Another choice would be inferior. It's rather like wishing Scarborough to be more flat. The only quibble I will mention, and it is a purely personal preference, I found the matress on the bed suited to a back-sleeper, not a side sleeper like me; just a touch too firm for my liking. This is certainly not unique to Tall Stories.

Great location - we walked miles - very knowledgeable / friendly hosts - excellent breakfast - warm welcome and easy local parking for the car. 2 minute walk to marina and town centre as little further. Loads of restaurants and pubs local.
Nothing much to dislike, we knew it was a small double, Think if you have difficulty walking some of the hills in the area could be an issue for you

Great central location in The Old Town, Beautiful 4 poster bedroom with sea view. Great breakfast
Parking was on the narrow street outside and was difficult to find a space at times. The room wasn’t serviced while we were there due to Covid, however stayed in Brighton last month and the room was serviced daily.

Warm welcome from very nice hosts. Home cooked breakfast made to order. Nice clean older fashioned decor. Free parking but not always available. Location good with harbour and main beach front in walking distance (but hilly!!)
Location not great if you have mobility issues. Clue in name of house! 5 flights to bedroom then two down to breakfast! Parking permit does not guarantee a space. Husband could not use shower due to small opening.
4.5
Location was fantastic - central but quiet ( if you ignore the seagulls) with a spectacular view over the rooftops & harbour. Room was comfortable and the property had a wonderful garden which we were welcome to use. Breakfast simply gorgeous with a great selection and quality produce.
Parking outside a little tricky as not too many spaces but free with a disc provided by the hosts. Did not bother us but the property may be difficult for someone with poor mobility.

Small but nice room lovely breakfast served by a friendly and welcoming host all in all a lovely stay in an ideal location
Wish I had booked a larger room but comfortable none the less

Friendly hosts fantastic choice and quality of breakfast very comfortable room nothing was too much trouble plus always asking if anything needed
Nothing can't think of anything. Need to be sensible when writing review it's a 200 year old building, but kept very well

The breakfasts were excellent, couldn’t have been better. Having two whippets we were surprised that they had accommodated us on the uppermost floor. The en-suite was small for a large person but very very clean as was everywhere in the property. Parking was difficulty due to its location something which I should have checked prior to booking. Overall a lovely hotel great hosts and fantastic breakfast highly recommended
Small en-suite and small bedroom. Mattress very hard for us.

From the start we arrived early and just asked for a parking permit but our room was ready so we could check in early. We were welcomed by Ian who was very friendly. The room was quaint and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfy had 3 great night sleeps.Morna greeted us at breakfast and she was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was all well set out and plenty of fruit, cereals yoghurt etc.My husband had the full English every morning and said it was the BEST ever and the bacon to die for. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

The staff were fantastic they couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was incredible.
No shower and the street parking keft a lot to be desired. It was up some very steep streets.
