The cabin had everything we needed during our stay, even for our toddler. Plenty of travel trips available! The cabin was nice and tidy, well equipped, plus had an abundant selection of spices for cooking.
Bathroom door and some windows' hinges could use a bit of oil because they were squeaky when opening/closing, but that didn't affect our stay negatively.

Loved the warmth of the place
It was very spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable
Rosa was an excellent host. A lot of recommendations for the area

Wow, just incredible. The accommodation was amazing. Rosa was lovely and very helpful giving us all the information we needed especially somewhere close to eat which would suit all the family. The scenery was amazing and it close to the golden circle. We would absolutely recommend and would love to go back. Thank you Rosa for helping us make the most incredible memories. And also to our lovely neighbours who knocked on our door one night to let us know the northern lights were showing and what a show it was! Thank you
Nothing it was everything we hoped for

I loved everything. We looked forward to relaxing at the house after our long days walking/climbing. The house was perfect. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate, beer glasses in the freezer, cooking oil, salt and pepper, spices. The house is ideally placed for driving the Golden Circle one day and the south coast the next. Easy to find and comprehensive instructions on grocery stores, off-licence … etc provided by Rosa. … and a wonderful, peaceful view.
Cannot think of anything else that Rosa could have done.

This house was perfect for our family for three nights. Plenty of space to spread out and in a decent location for nearby attractions while still being somewhat remote. Check-in was easy and the staff were very friendly and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

This is an absolutely perfect small home. It is one of 4 cottages on the property, which are fairly new (<10 year old) modern homes. our cottage had 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds and 1 with two twin beds. The dining table seats six. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking with salt, pepper, basic spices, oil, vinegar and soy sauce. Coffee, sugar, creamer and tea were supplied as well. There were extra towels we used to visit the nearby Secret Lagoon (a public geothermally-heated pool, the oldest in Iceland - which also rents swimming suits, FYI). Overall it was a fantastic accommodation! Thanks, Rosa!

We had an error code on the dishwasher the first night preventing us from using it. Contacted the owners who live on property. When we returned after a day of touristing, the owners had contacted us through booking.com, replaced the dishwasher with a working unit, and even reloaded our dirty dishes into the new unit.
On the second night when internet service had been disconnected to the county by an accidental cable cut, we knew in advance because of the owners' responsiveness. They even stopped by after we got home to ensure we had gotten their message.
The house was well equipped for cooking and many basic necessities one sometimes forgets to pack when traveling.
Iceland's weather! Either snow or be warm! Not the mess between the two! Sad luck for us. ;-)

Everything was very clean and beds were super comfortable. Layout was spacious and perfect for a family up to 5 or 6. Wifi good enough to watch Netflix. Well-equipped kitchen. Perfect location for visiting the golden circle and the southern coast. Easy parking. Great setup overall!
Had a few big flies enter the cottage over the course of the 4 days. We were careful not to let them in through doors or windows, so I'm not sure how they got in.

Prior to arrival I had communication with Rosa giving us detailed instructions regarding the property which is helpful if you’ve never visited Iceland. The cottage is truly beautiful and cozy. Rosie greeted us and was very kind and warm. The cottage was extremely well stocked with spices from curry powder and rosemary to your more basic spices. Do not go to the store first, see if what you need is there. There was coffee tea hot cocoa cooking oil and cooking wine I believe. Rosa provided milk which was a nice bonus. It was my husbands birthday and she surprised him with a bottle of sparkling wine which was incredibly thoughtful. Now to the important stuff the beds were extremely comfortable from the mattress itself to the pillows and blankets all were perfect. The shower had very good pressure and never ran out of hot water. My husband used the grill to cook hotdogs and these cheddarwurst hotdog sausages which were far better than anything we get in the USA. We also enjoyed meals at Skyr Gerdin and UMI hotel. Food in Iceland is delicious. The location of Icelandic Cottages is really excellent for making day trips in the south of Iceland and I highly recommend a stay here.
The only disappointment was that our cottage did not have a dryer only a washer. I believe it was unit 2 which is tan in color. Rosa did come by and offered to dry our clothing in her personal dryer her home but because the weather was good (for Iceland) we opted to dry our clothing on the clothes line as to not bother Rosa. I do believe the other units have both washer and dryer. Even with this issue I’d still recommend Icelandic Cottages because of the overall excellent quality of accommodation.

It’s a nicely decorated cottage with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the cottage was immaculately cleaned. The laundry is a big bonus and it’s a great place to bring children

Cottage owner was very friendly, helpful and a very complete and selfmade information booklet was available. Comfort in cottage was excellent and the location was superb.
There was nothing we did not like.

The accommodation was pleasant, clean and the landlady Rosa nice and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked. During our stay, we generally lacked nothing.
We bought food in Selfos and Vík.
It was an ideal place for excursions. In 4 days we managed Krysuvík, Thingvelir, Gulfoss, Gejsir, Stokur, Hjálparfoss, Jökulsárlón, Diamon beach, Svartifoss, Svínafellsjökull,Fjaðrárgljúfur, Dyrhólaey a Reynisfjara, Sólheimasandur, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss a Gljúfrabú.
The only thing missing was the polar light. So we have to go back
See you next year Rosa

Icelandic Cottages was the best accommodations I have ever booked. Many times the pictures places post online look much better then what you see when you get there, Icelandic Cottages is exactly what they show and Rosa the owner/host is the best. I rarely write reviews but had to for this trip. As soon as I booked Rosa was in contact with me and started giving me important info long before my trip. When I arrived Rosa met me at the cottage where she showed me around and how to use everything inside. The cottage was spotless and had all the little things that you wouldn't expect. They supply a rack full of spices and cooking oils, also coffee, creamer, tea, and sugar. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses, dishes, utensils, pots and pans and even frosted mugs in the freezer. The unit comes with a dishwasher and washer and dryer and all soaps for those are provided. I have never felt so comfortable and at home so far away from home. Rosa also provides a binder full of important info from emergency contacts, great nature spots, best restaurants, best stores and everything you need to know about the cottage. I am now spoiled and it will be hard to top this experience and I do plan to go back to Iceland some day and this is the only place I will stay

Lovely modern decor & everything you could wish for in the way of oils, spices, hot chocolate, foil etc
No mirrors in the bedroom or near a plug to use the hairdryer. As only one bathroom made it difficult for 4 people getting ready
