Beautiful , clean
Wifi was awful, beach was not as expected as it had a lot of sea weed and was not swimmable. Not a problem just wasn’t expected.

Very clean and such nice friendly staff who were very organized and professional. Amazing views with nice sunrises.
The road to get to Portofino was a bit rough.

I love the beautiful grounds. Fantastic pool, beach, restaurant and bar and staff was super friendly. The room was quaint and had everything I needed.
The hairdryer didn't work but not a big deal.

The property is beautiful and well laid out. All amenities are close together but not cramped.
The restaurant is one of the best in the area, the staff and management were wonderful. Accommodations are very comfortable with amazing views. The toiletries hand crafter and beautiful quality.
There was nothing we didn’t like, however for others it is a bit of a golf cart away from the city of San Pedro but it is closer to Secret Beach

Staffs here treat you like a family, we were sad leaving at the end of our stays. The property is very clean, secluded, you feel like on a private island. Very quiet and private, it gave the true serenity we were seeking. Cabanas are roomy, ours had two queen beds with rooms to move around. We truly enjoyed the facility, the food was the best on the island.

Right on the beach
Nice pool
Dinner was good quality
Lovely canons & Thatch roof
Large bed and room (treetop house)
They offer tours from the hotel such as schnorkling.
Everything was in US dollars. Please put BZD there as well for other tourists than Americans. This also lead to higher (American) pricing than some other hotels and restaurants nearby who did use BZD.
Some members of the staff were very friendly, while others were so grumpy and distant that it made you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. That even made us wonder if we did something wrong that upset them and that is not a nice feeling to have while you are on your holiday. Luckily this feeling disappeared at the moment other members of the staff were friendly.
The airconditioning was way too small for the room it was meant to cool. Therefore it was warm.
The room, being one open space, was only partially divided by one wall. So no way to do your thing in private as the washroom had no door.
The free continental breakfast only includes toast, Jam and fruit. Being from the continent, I can tell you we also eat ham, cheese and such on our bread... If you wanted something more than that you had to pay, even if it were just eggs (3 USD for only two fried eggs, nothing on the side). The other breakfast options from the menu didn't meet our expectations given the amount you had to pay for it. It was possible to switch up your free continental breakfast for 8 USD though.
The first day there was no warm water in the shower and the waterpressure was really low due to the showerhead being way too small. You couldn't even get your shampoo off... After our second complaint they replaced it on our second day with a bigger showerhead and fixed the warm water.
The location makes it so that you can't easily go to town. We knew that in advance; just a heads-up.
Over all it was okay, but we just felt like "something was missing".

it was secluded with beautiful scenery by the ocean
it’s difficult to get to, a long bumpy ride in a golf cart

Lovely pool area. The food at the restaurant was great and the snorkelling trip was one of the best I’ve done
Very far from San Pedro

The resort was very picturesque, well-maintained, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and responsive. We had breakfast there daily and dinner one evening, which were tasty. We rented a golf cart, which we used to get around the island. I recommend that since the resort is about 30 minutes outside of town.
We were bummed that we couldn't use the beach due to the seaweed, but that was an issue all along the east side of the island-- not resort-specific.

Secluded and quiet. Exceptional staff!!! Incredibly helpful, generous, and professional.
We had a very comfortable stay, however, the property could be updated a bit more. Also, the seaweed kept us out of the ocean. That didn’t stop us from enjoying the beautiful pool and gorgeous weather!

The Portifino restaurant had excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. They had fresh fruit and freshly caught seafood. The service was excellent and the prices were fair. They had direct access to the beach. The pool was beautiful. The rooms were generous in size. Daily housekeeping. The property was well maintained. It was quite but very nice. I would definitely recommend this property.
Nothing.

Scenery beautiful. Pool nice. Uniit was spacious. Marc was.a wonderful help to us.
Sessy was the least helpful employee. staff and food in restaurant were fantastic. Adirondack chairs are very uncomfortable and do not belong poolside.
Bathrooms should have doors. we rented a golf cart $50, they brought us a 6 seater relic that would not fit into parking areas. no one stipulated in emails that Tropic Air did not have as many flights to choose from. We had to take a $30 US taxi to a small airport. We then had to take another taxi to the zBelize express water ferry. Also hotel left us stranded as there are no taxis or water taxis. We had no choice except to use overpriced hotel tours. We were blocked from watching NFL games on room TV. Very limited choice of programming. Not cool at all. .They had nfl on TV in bar. A clip joint.

Dinner at the restaurant seemed pricey for what you got. We chose to eat elsewhere for most dinner meals. Breakfast and lunch were great.

The hotel had comfortable beds and beautiful rooms. They were very accommodating for a family with teenagers.
Unfortunately, the beach has been affected by lots of sea grass on the east coast of Belize and there was no gym.

Great staff, beautiful property, great food

The wait staff was wonderful, all levels! From the person who seats you to the server. The view was terrific as was the pool. Both the bed and pillows were dreamy, wish I could have taken them home! Coffee and breakfast was my favorite!
The room cleaning staff was weak. Toothpaste was left on the facet several days, we had to ask for clean glasses. One day a empty bottle was still on the shower floor when we came back. It would have been nice to have the bottled water replaced in the frig. The food was certainly good but the menu was limited.

it was beautiful! I loved the cabanas and the pool. it was a great place for a romantic, low key vacation. the staff were unbelievably nice and helpful and remembered our names. we loved how peaceful the property was, and the fund saxophone music they played. we enjoyed all the hammocks and the corn hole. it was wonderful!
We loved that it was quiet and secluded, but you have to rent a golf cart and go like 20 minutes to get to any other restaurant. everything we ate was delicious— absolutely— but it was more expensive than town (I guess that’s the price you pay for the quiet seclusion).

Best service I have ever experienced. The staff really makes you feel at home, always going the extra mile (Mark in particular was exceptional).
Overall such a beautiful, relaxing place to spend some time. big plus having a dive/tour center on site - the trips we took to Mexico Rocks and Hol Chan/Sharkray Alley were awesome!
Food was great and drinks from the bar were excellent and strong. Bar is a fun place to hang out.
The upstairs suites (like Sunflower) are huge, with expansive outdoor patios great for hanging out.
Our unit (sunflower) had underperforming AC, so the room never got below 25C - not a big deal but made sleeping a bit tough. Little to no hot water in the shower. Drinks are pricey.

Honestly, nothing.

The staff were really welcoming and went out of their way to help us. The beach access was really nice and all the food at the restaurant was good.
It’s far from town and most other bars, cafes, etc. Just make sure you pre-book a golf cart and it’s manageable though.

Resort felt like you were on your own little island. Loved the staff loved the resort.
The food and drinks were very good.
It was a little far out of town.
The water pressure was very weak.
The bathrooms in the main house lower mansion could do with a
renovation.

Kindest staff I've ever experienced. The property was gorgeous and right on the water. The food was incredible. The rooms were large and quiet. I also had access to snorkeling, fishing, and other activities at the dive shop right on the property. As a solo female traveler, it was important that I felt safe at all times, and the staff at Portofino could not have done a better job taking care of me! They even booked my flight from Belize City to San Pedro and back again after my trip. My whole point of the trip was to relax and not have to think about anything for a week between jobs, and it is exactly what I needed!
The bed was not as comfortable as the reviews had made it seem. The duvet itself was nice but the mattress wasn't the most comfortable. The sheets were are scratchy and not of the highest quality.
I would have also preferred to be told ahead of time that there was going to be a wedding on the property the last night of my stay. I did not know that until I was on site and the rehearsal occurred. The wedding party was perfectly kind and quiet, but I was a little upset that the hotel did not inform me that there would be a wedding on site. I couldn't access the beach in the area that I liked to lay the two final evenings I was there because of the rehearsal and wedding.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Staff at Portofino had everything covered for us from the time we landed, throughout our stay, and getting back home. We were picked up at the dock for a 20 minute ride to the resort then greeted by friendly staff and a chilled bottle of champagne waiting in our room to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was clean and well maintained each day-the room, pool, beach, and the grounds. The restaurant overlooking the ocean served deliciously prepared meals all day with great attention to detail. Bartenders kept things fun and were able to tip us off to some of the best local spots. We met some people out who were staying at another resort and when we brought them back with us for dinner and drinks they wished they had booked at Portofino in comparison. Everyone knew our names and made sure we always had what we needed or wanted. We felt like family staying there and met some great new friends we hope to keep in touch with after leaving.
The air conditioning would sometimes shut off for a few hours then power back on. We were mindful of being on a small island that can occasionally have power outages that can’t be helped. Nothing an open window or a dip in the pool couldn’t satisfy.

The food and service was exceptional
The bathroom id not have are supplied to them and the property was a little dated

The highlights of our trip were the food and the wait staff. We thought the chef did a very nice job. The two waiters, Orlando and James were friendly and efficient.
Dog swimming in the pool and barking at the guests. WiFi was horrible. Had trouble booking return flight. Water pressure and quality was poor. Friend's husband had health emergency and was required to relocate Casitas.

Portofino has a relaxing atmosphere, amazing location, and friendly staff! It is the best place to relax if you are coming for the beach in Belize. I have nothing but positive things to say about Portofino.
Nothing!

I loved the customer service from the staff, the accommodations, and the restaurant.
I didn't like the bumpy road & distance from San Pedro . The road has few lights leading up to the resort.

Very friendly staff, beautiful, well maintained resort, delicious food.
Breakfast included in the price should have been better also it wasn't easy for a solo traveler to reach the city center - it is a bit far from the water taxi, airport etc.

Dive center on property with a guy named chocolate that was the best diver I’ve seen along with his animal whisperer ways, just very good and seeing things. Luis the bartender was the best and great to chat with. The view and packages were great.
Beds a little tough/hard if I had to complain about anything. Wind can be a bit much but resort can not control that.

It was clean and beautiful! Perfect for my husband and I. The restaurant was delicious too!
