Relaxing , quiet, great trips and friendly inhabitants

Quiet clean and the staff were friendly pool was always clean and never over crowded

The occasional smell for the property next door where st stagnant sea water and rotting vegetation created a pungent stick if the wind blew the right way

Super adorable bungalows

Pros: Super clean, nice staff, adorable cottage, had internet and internet TV, safe, very quiet and cozy the maid does your dishes which I haven't had anyone do my dishes for me in ages so I extra appreciated that luxury.

Cons: farther from town than I personally like (I didn't understand the layout of San Pedro when I booked) and completely not their fault but the empty lot next door has gross water and piles of trash that have an unpleasant smell and if the wind is traveling from that area..... But still adorable and would definitely go again .

Wonderful week!

Fun units, well appointed, beautiful and quiet location. Very kind and helpful staff, including booking tours. Our snorkel tours picked us up from the Cocotal pier - very convenient.

It was too windy to kayak - bummer.

Staff was kind but would not recommend establishment.

On the beach.

Water was not accessible,a/c in our cabana barely kept rooms cool. Even knowing we rented both cabanas (as only one bed in each) the smaller cabana was waited till day of arrival to be worked on. Took all day, was told it was repaired, it was for all of around 2 hours, then our son sweated the rest of the night. Day 2, repairs on a:c again with same result as night 1. By night 3, our last, a/c was finally repaired. Again, knowing these two cabanas were rented. There was a large collection of hair on floor of large cabana shower, windows in both cabana were dirty which blocks beach view, and both were cabanas wee very dusty.

Clean, comfortable unit with a serviceable kitchen, nice bathroom, AC, comfy bed, and quiet location.

I would go back again.

Beautiful property, very quiet. Felt very comfortable there. The staff was always willing to help.

My only issue is something they can't fix. I wish it was closer to town.

We had a wonderful, quiet, peaceful stay at CocoTal.

Nice staff, good location, clean, quiet, sunrise and sunset options, pool, grill, kayaks, bikes,and personal cabanas.

Pillows could be better.

Wonderful place to stay away from trafic

Peace and quiet place, Kajak and bicycles were available at no cost to residents. Staff was awesome and helpful absolutely no complaints

Beautiful grounds that feels like an oasis, spacious, well-equipped casita

We enjoyed being able to use the bikes, hammocks, pool, and access to kayaks. It was really convenient and quiet, with beautiful grounds. Ben and Yahaira were very friendly and attentive. It was convenient to do a snorkel trip through them since they pick you up at the inn (don't expect a tour guide though they stay in the boat while you swim). Aji, the restaurant nearby has a delicious ceviche and paella FYI.

A dustpan would have been helpful (we accidentally broke some glass). There were a lot of mosquitos and the room didn't offer anything to help ward them off. The space is really dark even with lights, the curtains didn't have a liner so you are pretty exposed if you want natural light.

Excellent staff, excellent place to stay!

Wonderful location with a beautiful view! North of San Pedro so it’s very quiet. Very friendly and attentive staff. Ben went out of his way to assist us in booking an excursion. If we are able to return one day, we would stay again.

A Beautiful Gem

All of the staff were very helpful in providing travel information and history of the country. They were all very friendly and full of knowledge that was helpful to us. We will definitely stay here again when we return to San Pedro. The cabanas were roomy, had good water pressure and hot water. The air conditioning was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely amazing place to stay in paradise

Beautiful, quiet property with lovely accommodations. We stayed in B1, which was perfect. We had a 1 bedroom house all to ourselves and were able to cook meals in to save money on food. The back porch/veranda overlooks the ocean, and it is right next to the pool as well. It was a great alternative to staying in a busy resort that shared walls, entrances, etc. especially during a pandemic, and was an introverts dream, but still offered opportunities to interact with others too.

The only downside was that the sargassum (seaweed) has been pretty bad lately, though this is not something that can be controlled by the property. The entire coastline is affected, as is most Atlantic facing land in the gulf and Caribbean. The other side of the caye does have beautifully clear water that is free of sargassum, and is only a short golf cart drive away. Don’t let that detract you from staying here though. This was the best vacation I’ve ever had, and Cocotal was a big part of that.

.Ben the manager is very personable, attentive and accommodating. Rooms were very nice, clean, spacious, lots of storage, private and had everything we needed. Community barbq handy, honour bar excellent idea. We enjoyed the Complimentary bicycles.

Ants in our kitchen. Bed was creaky. Hot tub wasn't running.

Perfect “out of the city” location and beautiful cozy resort with cute bungalows perfect for couples

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect when we arrived but were so impressed by Ben and staff. The location was great, close to the town to get black and forth but far away enough to enjoy peace and quiet. I somehow expected a larger resort but it’s small and cozy and perfect for a small family or couple get away. We rented a cart in town and it was the best decision we made. Secret beach is the perfect day hangout and because of this resorts northern location it was a perfect day trip. I can’t say enough about how picturesque the resort was.

Honestly the only small thing I would have changed was having our sheets changed after 3 days. But we were in and out all day so it may have been difficult to find a window. But since we only stayed 4 nights we didn’t feel like it was necessary and are perfectly happy with the services provided.

The property was perfect for our family’s vacation needs. Our kids loved the pool and having access to a full kitchen was great.
