Close to the beach and very central
The noise from the busses parked next to the hotel and children on a school trip making a noise and running in the corridors. The walls have no sound proof, one night I was watching TV on my phone security had to knock asking me to keep it down.

I was put in a room with a no functioning aircon which was making noise all night. I called receptionist and the guy promised to come but never did, so it was very hot, and noisy finding difficulty sleeping

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport, so I did not have to travel too far. The hotel looks like it is currently under renovation, so the rooms are all new. The rooms are spacious, and the price was affordable as well.
When I arrived, the receptionist mentioned that the aircons were not working due to renovation. For me, that's a big red flag because Durban's heat is quite severe. THANKFULLY, for some reason, the aircon in my room was working. So bear in mind for those booking here, your room aircon may not be working and will only be told this upon arrival.
When entering the room, i noticed the bathroom also had a cigarette smell in it, considering im a non smoker. The room did not have hangers, I had to leave my shirts on the room chair. Upon arrival I tried to call the kitchen to place an order for somethin. Unfortunately, the room phones were not working because of renovations. I had to use my airtime to call the hotel landline and then transfered to the restaurant. When placing the order to the restaurant I was also told that they charge R15 to bring my meal to my room! 😵 This is the first place that I stayed where they will charge you to bring the meal to you.
Apart from this, there are no other issues whatsoever.

The condition of the room I got that day and the dinner that was served to us🔥was very tasty and the room was very neat and clean........ And the staff is also very welcoming I must give credit
That when there's loadshedding there's no back up plan in the rooms.... And that I had to wait for 1hour to check in the since the rooms were still being cleaned though I was like 1hour late from their check in time which is 3pm

The location is in a neutral place close to almost all beaches and restaurants.
The facility has a smart TV.
The facility does not have back up system in case of load shedding, its bad for a hotel not to have back up in this day and age. During the night it becomes peach black and the hotel only informs you only when you check in.
The facility does not have mats in the room and in the bathroom. The staff tell guests not make the sheets dirty, threatening guests that they will pay extra if that re-occures.
They do not clean the room properly.
Wifi does not work and they kept on saying they are fixing it for 3 full days, until we checked out.
They were no towels on arrival, upon asking the staff took more than an hour.

The security personnel. Friendly.
Too much noise on my floor. No effort spared to calm down the situation. This until early hours of 13 & 14 May.

convinience. near the transport and the beach. that was excellent for me. I actually had to cancell my rented vehicle.
the security at the bus stop oh that made more comfortable
our bedroom haed a leak from the above bathroom. the management did not offer to wash my clothes as the bag ia used was wet and had to look for help out side even though the repairs to the bathroom were done immediatley.. 2.00 noise by other visitors, the occasion downstairs.

The staff was very respectful, friendly and efficient. The room and bedding were clean. It had a fair view of the Parade and the distant ocean. The hotel was about 600 meters from the nearest beach.
Too many cracked tiles with sharp edges outside, on stairs and inside, scruffy furniture, doors that don't open smoothly, hole in bathroom door, unkempt garden, No provision for LED lights in rooms during load shedding (only in passage), curtain hanging skew, duvet tucked in too deep and not up to shoulders, hot & cold water in shower difficult to control - either scalding hot or very cold, a promise to look for a similarly priced room on another floor was briefly discussed and then ignored. Limited channels on the TV.

Our stay at pavilion hotel was pleasant from when we arrived the rooms were clean aircons were working, bar fridges were there except i a one family room there was none but requested one while we were going out when we came back it was there so the staff was friendly.we even extended our stay with one night they made a plan for us we didn't have to worry cos they booked us in and kept our bags in storage for us to enjoy more activities so we are happy about everything. Even the bag that we thought was lost because it left at the reception area they helped it was kept safe until we came back.i would definitely recommend it to my friends and family for accommodation its very convenient the location is perfect close to beach and everything and the view is perfect .i definitely recommend 👌
