Friendly staff, beautiful landscape, comfortable room, great menu. The peacocks were amazing to watch s they walked around the property.

The property is really lovely, has security so you feel safe, the pool is really nice and spa/restaurant are site are handy. The beds are really nice and great having an outside terrace area. The staff were all really helpful, really helped us organise renting a car and organise different elements of our stay which we really appreciated. There is parking there which is handy if you have a car. Beautiful garden too with peacocks just wondering around. There is also a lovely view from the garden.
The location isn't great in terms of accessing things but this is because the hotel is in a historic location. Only one tiny bin in the bathroom. The restaurant and spa are extremely expensive and the food wasn't great (though cocktail selection was very good).
The main thing we didn't like is that on our last night they had a very loud concert in the garden which went on until 3am. We were not told about this when we booked or at any stage. If we had known- we would NOT have booked this hotel for our last night. We hardly got any sleep, then we had to wake up early and fly home to the UK the next day so we were exhausted and this really took away from our stay and the relaxation we had. All it would have taken was letting us know this was on so we could book elsewhere.
Feel free to book if you can sleep through very loud music or you don't mind risking getting little sleep.

I like the privacy of the location
There was nothing that I didn't like, I'm just afraid of all animals so to see the peacocks freaked me out

Everything was amazing. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Also loved the complimentary massage.

The location was great and the compound was really well taken care of.

The property has a nice hidden escape kind of feel with peacocks on the property, porches for the rooms and a nice wilderness pool with a jetted area you can sit. This is a nice alternative to a big chain hotel in that it feels really unique. It's a good value for the size of the rooms & facilities on the property.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. They were closed the two nights I was there so I only got lunch, but it was decent.
I forgot to use it but they also give you a free mini (I think neck or foot) massage at the spa on the property.
I didn't have a car and I found this not to be the best location for that. Not all of the streets walking to places are pedestrian friendly (there aren't sidewalks everywhere). I came in low season and the restaurant was closed the two nights I was there, which was not ideal with those factors for needing to go off property for dinner. I would say only consider this location if you're renting a car, or maybe if you're coming in high season and ok with arranging taxis or drivers to go places. Not sure if it was also because of off season, but they also didn't have a reception desk person at night to call a taxi. Maybe I could've asked the gate security if I thought of it.
Also, the night sound critters (frogs, crickets, etc) were louder than I've ever heard in my life. I guess that is the tradeoff for the wilderness escape but is to be noted if you're a light sleeper.
A cockroach also got into my room because there are little gaps under the doors. To be fair, I do not see this as a lack of cleanliness; the room was cleaned daily and I'm quite sure it came in rather than being from within, but again there are some wilderness elements that can creep in.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, great views!

Beautiful surroundings
The staff particularly the duty managers
Purpose of trip was wedding night and night after - staff made no provision to welcome the couple - no welcome at all - security guard very frosty “ I thought you hadn’t turned up”
The staff had prior warning this was post wedding service and dinner - they didn’t even bother to say a congratulations - The night after was a pre planned birthday party directly- no pre warning of this (despite what the staff said afterwards)
Very loud party noise until the early hours of the morning
No one seemed interested in the other guests including us
When this was raised the following day the attitude of the duty manager was not very nice

Spacious room
The shower was a trickle. The reception does not work at night and early morning. The restaurant food was not good and choice was limited and expensive.

The historic building and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The food although a bit costly was very good. The spa facilities and the gorgeous pool was a plus.
The noises of the peacocks when you are trying to sleep will drive a sane man crazy. The shilling noises had me jumping out of bed in a panic the first night and it continued for two nights. I had to check out to another location for the remainder of my stay.
1.5
The room was clean and well laid out.
Bath towles, dressing gowns provided. The bed was large and comfortable.
The 50 peacocks in the grounds mean you are unable to sleep through the night.
No use if you are travelling for work or need a good night sleep.
Staff were overall unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with.

Location for breakfast was great. Food was delicious. A little slow.
Sweetfield Manor is a beautiful, unique boutique hotel with a historical perspective. Love the not overly manicured landscape.
Early morning service could have been better/faster for persons travelling.
Although maybe an ideal request it would have been nice if all staff were equally warm and friendly. Overall very good.

great staff and venue, couldn’t be friendlier and great food too.
all good

the staff :nali and chef tori
lack of entertainment and quality of food
3.5
Nice clean spacious room, comfortable bed. Welcoming staff.
Far away from stores. The restaurant is very expensive and there are no nearby shops or restaurants. No on-sight tuck shop to pick up necessities. Bottle of wine cost 40.00 Canadian (the same bottle in Canada would cost 10.00).
Far from the ocean you'd need to hire a taxi.
The staff did not know the history of the building which we found sad.

Spa excellent
Staff extremely helpful
Very relaxing stay
Room beautiful
Would have liked more options for breakfast and dinner

Individualality of the property and its decor, the friendly and efficient staff.
It’s position in the area was both a positive because to was quiet and negative as beaches and the town were not easily accessible.

Nothing except peacocks!
Nice pictures, terrible reality. Very dirty as building site. No working pool. Worst hotel we ever seen!
After entering to the lobby, checking our room we lost our deposit and left the hotel.

Staff, restaurant and environment wonderful.
Our bedroom had no window so a bit claustrophobic
Also the overhead bathroom fan did not function so quite steamy and hot

I loved the staff we laughed a lot and they were attentive to whatever requests I had.
I couldn’t seem to get all of the channels to work on my television which was most likely user error
4.5
The room was big and spacious. The bed was also bog and comfortable. With ac unit which worked really well.
I didn't enjoy the food at all and it's way too expensive. They should have local food cooked at the hotel.

I loved the really wonderful ambience and staff. Alisha at the front desk went beyond the call of duty to answer any questions and provide assistance with any matter. Sheena was excellent as well in helping me prepare for the trip.
No complaints

it was unique.
distance from the beach.

Having come for a busy event, I really enjoyed the peace and quiet Sweetfield Manor provides - surrounded by nature. I'm afraid I never had time to have breakfast at the restaurant. Neither did I have the good fortune to sample some of the regularly served dishes. However, the lunch that was served for the event that I came for on December 2 was good. My locally-based host says she will return to have lunch with family.
If there was something that could be slightly better: My room was not cleaned the 2nd day of my short stay - perhaps a staff member was absent (common world-wide during pandemic)? No coffee or milk were provided/ replenished also on the 3rd day until I asked - which would have been helpful considering my hectic schedule during my brief stay.
