Addo at its best … 😃

A truly memorable stay, friendly and helpful staff and an experienced guide! And - of course - the vicinity to Addo National Park!

The load shedding - but on the other hand and in that surrounding not really a problem, but a valuable hint not to waste energy!

world class service amongst herid of elephant

a world class retreat in the bush. Really special weekend with outstanding attention to detail. the staff are amazing, we loved the game drives to the special dinner at the fireplace. thank you

Incredible safari experience, room and view, slightly missing the 5 star feel

Great game drives, and our guide Leo was incredible!! So knowledgable and passionate. The location of the lodge and views were fantastic, with it being on the park - we saw monkeys and zebras from our room!!! Breakfast was lovely as was the regular cleaning of our room/turndown service

Didn’t feel ‘all inclusive’, with mini bar not being restocked at any point (apart from water), premium wines being the full price instead of a supplement, and it not feeling like you could get a drink at any point i.e no bar staff at the bar and unclear if there were opening times for this.

Staff is superb and helpful. The dinner is really good! Rooms are spacious, clean and tasteful.

Loadshedding contingencies aren’t really in place. However, the property was still amazing without electricity.

Incredible, would come again anytime and wished we had been for longer

Had an absolutely incredible time here as a family. Moses, Debbie and the staff are all wonderful people, extremely attentive, the food was excellent and our ranger Christiaan could not have been kinder. We saw lions roaring, wild Rhinos, water buffalo and lots of elephants. The garden is a magical oasis.

Fantastic experience with extremely friendly staff but will never pay R34 000 for a 3 day break

Food was fantastic with excellent wine selection. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable

This must be one of the best private game reserves in South Africa

Everything! The fabulous and oh so knowledgeable guides who conduct the game drives. The hotel services staff. The gardens and the beautiful public rooms. This was our second visit - and there will be a third.

Superb

The place is a little bit old, even though it makes the place very unique. The stuff were very kind and we got very good service which made our stay very calm and comfortable. The fire during night and the way that staff treated us and served us was beyond our expactations.

Top venue for get away

Excellent service Great game drives Fantastic meals

Poor backup power in rooms so could not charge phones etc and get coffee in room when power off..expected much more from such a top class facility.

River Bend is one if only two lodges actually located within Addo, and is definitely worth it! Our house with the two rooms for us and the kids was perfect, even though we ended up spending little time in the rooms as there was so much to do, especially the fantastic game drives. The pool, breakfast space outdoors with a view of the water hole, and the gardens are gorgeous, and everyone super friendly.

Exceptional experience in a stunning location - all what you wish for.

VERY EXCEPTIONAL - a wonderful experience at this very stunning place. Wonderful setting and beautiful garden and surrounding. Super friendly and welcoming hostess and her team. The staff exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive and so much hospitality. Perfect service from beginning to end - we felt very special. Absolut delicious food - great compliment to the chef. Darlington and Leo gave everything on the game drives to show us the vast variety of wildlife in the park. The perfect place to explore the park. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Stunning location, wonderful staff, extraordinary food

Everything - the stay was from beginning to end a wonderful experience. The staff is loaded with great hospitality, all food is very good and the game drives were amazing. Chris took all the time needed to find some beautiful species in the private part of Addo. Because this wasn’t open to regular day visitors, we were literally the only in the field, which gave the whole weekend even a better once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Nothing - everything was good and handled perfectly by the staff.

Hospitality and Bird oasis

We have been to quite few game lodges and boutique hotels but this one is the best. Debbie is amazing and treated us like royalty. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and special. They are so friendly and they spoil you every chance they get. The food is delicious and the game drives were awesome. Chris is a an absolute bird specialist and it was a dream to chase birds and learn about the reserve. This is a private concession and we saw around 20 elephants at the waterhole and lions on one of the game drives. The garden is an oasis for bird watchers. Addo main camp is about 10mins away for those who like to self drive.

I would recommend Riverbend for its hospitality, attentive staff, amazing food and accommodation.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Staff, food, accommodation, game drives - 10 out of 10!! Thank you Riverbend for making us feel super special! We can't wait to visit again. The game drives were an absolute highlight - especially the night drive, star gazing was next level - thank you for teaching us so much Chris :-)

We had a lovely stay at Riverbend. The staff were exceptional, they were all friendly and very accommodating, always going the extra mile for us. We also noticed and appreciated the attention to detail in our room and around the lodge.
