Fabulous location with easy access to the local beaches. Very relaxed place with lovely guest areas for all weathers. Host very helpful suggesting local places to visit and booked our table for dinner on the first evening.
Good eco-credentials too.

Lisa and Anthony were very hospitable and welcoming. They chatted about their beautiful homestead and recommended places for dinner and entertainment. They made freshly baked croissants for breakfast which was an added treat.

We stayed one night at Black Sheep Farm on our Northland road trip and wish we had booked to stay longer! Lisa & Anthony were absolutely wonderful hosts, welcomed us like family and couldn't have done more to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We were offered tea and cake on arrival, a glass of local wine as we relaxed in the lounge in the evening and enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning of croissants, jams, muesli, yoghurt and fruit. There are loads of travel books (amongst others!) to get lost in, however Lisa & Anthony are also great for a chat about New Zealand and the rest of the world! Our room was beautiful with wooden beams across the high ceiling, a lovely balcony overlooking the luscious green land, an en-suite bathroom and an incredbily comfortable bed. We just wish we'd had better weather to enjoy the surrounding area more and meet their sheep, which graze right outside their property. Absolutely lovely stay and we are very grateful to Lisa & Anthony for their kindness and hospitality!

Private and peaceful room with a relaxing vibe and view. Going to breakfast was a joy, freshly ground coffee, muesli, yoghurt and fruit, along with melt in your mouth mini croissants and pain au chocolat. Anthony was very helpful and there when you needed something.

The wide view, sofa, and home baking including banana loaf and croissants were superb. Lovely house, nice bathroom, and a perfect location. No bugs entered the room at all even when the doors and windows were opened wide for fresh air. We were further lucky to hear the family's daughter playing her piano when we were early in our room, very skilled. Nearly felt like a mini-concert! The host is also a great artist with her lovely paintings on the wall.
Just a bit of dust on the tea roller table which I think I can understand as it wouldn't be of those that every visitor would be thinking of moving around the room, although we did so to eat the host's lovely banana loaf and tea while sitting on the sofa. It would be nice to get it cleaned in case the next visitor decides to use it that way too. Also, the lightbulb of the tall lamp next to the sofa went out during the stay. I forgot to tell the host though. I'm sure it will be an easy fix.
