Great place to stay

Nice clean rooms, comfortable bed, location is great, easy to get to, the wine & beer in the lobby is a lovely touch.

Great location close to Enmore Theatre and train station with comfy bed

Great location for access to Enmore Theatre and the train station into Central - both are a short walk along the street. Fabulous cafes in the area, plus funky shops. A self-operated laundromat is also nearby. A clean room with comfy bed and space for suitcases. The room also had a fridge, coffee machine and 2 stove elements so you could self-cater if you wanted to. The local parking building near the train station is not for overnight parking. But parking is possible in the surrounding streets - just make sure you read the signage. I would definitely stay here again for the next concert we come to at the theatre!

Great stay overall

Location is excellent for the inner west and close to Newtown station to reach the city centre. Staff were great to deal with and helpful when needed. Comfortable bed, good space and a quiet room.

The cleaning could be a bit better as there were a few hairs left behind.

Good vibes & convenient location for the Enmore theatre

The vibes were cool! Love the plants and the room was quiet and comfortable. We saw a show at the enmore theatre and it was so close and convenient. Parking is a bit of a nightmare but found it easiest to park in the “secure parking - Newtown central” - it was pretty affordable.

Parking was hard to organise - I booked through booking.com and then later realised that I couldn’t book just parking through the urban Newtown website.

Great hotel in the best location for Enmore Theatre.

Easy check in and check out, wine on arrival was a nice touch. Fantastic location.

Above and beyond customer service

The staff at this hotel (and Booking.com) went beyond in meeting my expectations in terms of their level of service, especially in a time of family stress that was the context of our trip to Sydney. Just for that alone, I am deeply grateful.

I wished it was clearer beforehand what they expected in terms of having a dog in the room (e.g. dog needs to be tied up or out of the room for room cleaning to happen.) But we sorted that out the next day. My wife said the wifi was slow, but I felt the wifi was fast.

Good place

It is as it looks in the pictures, I enjoyed my stay there. But the location is very good because the train is very close and the truth is that the neighborhood is very lively at night.

The only thing I could say negative is that in booking it says that on the third day of stay they will make the room complete but when I talked to the staff there they told me that it is on the 4th day.

Overall quite good and if in the area again would stay there but preferably without a car.

Very central to busy Newtown close to railway and many restaurants. Room was clean and no noise.

No toaster in room rang management who said there is no toasters in any room. Seems a little silly when they have all other facilities. Parking onsite offered to us for $65 a night just ridiculous. Very hard to find off street parking but would not pay $65 either.

Great location for Enmore Theatre and spoilt for choice with amazing nearby eateries.

Great location, handy to trains, eateries and Enmore Theatre. Staff are very accommodating. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable.

Need a little shelf or something in the bathroom and an extra towel rail.

A pleasant bolthole to escape to after a busy day.

Location was great for us - near to great shops and hotels/bars. Shower was great and I particularly liked the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner - easy to access. Staff were friendly and the room was well equipped.

For me, manovering around the bed at night - not easy. I wasn't too keen on the decor but I think it may appeal to the younger guests. Pity the shower didn't have slide door as it made it difficult at times. Didn't like the noise outside at times but not sure there is any way to solve that problem.

All I wanted was for someone to contact me.

Location is really good

I have stayed here many times, and the experience has been positive. On this stay I had items removed from my room, presumably stolen. I have reported it on three occasions and am still waiting for someone to contact me. I travel to Sydney very frequently and am currently staying at a different hotel. Very disappointed at the lack of response.

Good location, friendly staff and nice rooms

Handy location, friendly and helpful staff. Room had everything we needed and very clean. Complementary drinks a really nice touch. Would absolutely stay again when visiting Sydney.

Compact sufficient rooms with great staff. Good location.

Close to amenities and the staff went above and beyond for our stay which was greatly appreciated.

The flooring in the room is very odd. Peculiar texture to stand on barefoot. But this is just my own personal preference and did not reflect on my stay.

The property was incredibly well located. It’s central to a great train station and the surrounding neighbourhood is very vibrant. The staff were accomodating and made check-in and check-out very easy. Housekeeping was awesome and they provided fresh towels and linen very often.

We had a comfortable and easy stay while at Urban Newtown.

We did not know where Newtown was at all - pleasantly surprised by the vibe that the Urban Newtown and Newtown itself gave. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there and visiting the local area. the room was very comfortable and clean; suited us well. The staff were very attentive and helpful to our needs and requests. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The only thing may be the air-con set quite low when we first arrived - but that was easy to rectify.

Great & will definitely return due to the amazingly friendly staff & location.

Loved the location. Loved the snack area, Taylor music & friendship bracelet station. Brilliant!! Staff were all friendly.

Clean, convenient, a bit rundown.

Location is great. Facilities are adequate. Well cleaned.

The furniture was very disappointing. Tired old garden furniture is entirely unsuitable for working at a table. No other seating in the room.

Basic hotel with great location.

The rooms were clean and the location exceptional. Lots of great places to eat and a lively night scene. The less time you spend in your room, the more you'll like your stay. I did like the option of the little kitchenette, but didnt make much use of it.

The unsealed roof exposed the toilet pipes above, which flushed with regularity in the morning, which is unusual and unwanted morning alarm. My room wasn't cleaned until late in the day too, so when I returned after 2pm, I was left in my own squalor. I really should clean up after myself. The price was on the high-end for the facilities provided,
