We booked 2 cottages for our family of 10 children and 8 adults traveling from the USA. We raised our children in Trim and wanted to show our young grandchildren where their dad''s grew up
When I arrived at the check in desk on November 19th the manager Michelle was berating a young female staff member who appeared to be new. Michelle knew I was at the desk but totally ignored me. For what seemed like 10 minutes + . When she finally asked me how she could helpI explained that I was checking in for the two cottages that I had booked from the USA months in advance. I asked her for the numbers of the cottages and if they were next to each other and she said no, they never have side by side cottages available next to each other. That sounded ridiculous as all of their cottages are next to each other. Michelle in my opinion was very unprofessional. I had to ask for her name, she did not represent this fine establishment very well.

Fabulous breakfast. Very clean holiday home and lovely to have free (and unexpected) welcome pack of tea/coffee/bread/milk/ juice. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Lovely quiet area around holiday home. Halloween decorations in the hotel appreciated by young and old!
Towels at the pool not provided for holiday home residents.

The spa was lovely, all staff very polite and courteous. The afternoon read was also lovely and the girl serving us was very pleasant.
The service at breakfast was quite slow. 3 of us ordered poached eggs on toast (there were 5 of us) and only one slice of toast each was brought to the table, we had to ask for more. Surely poached eggs on toast shout come with 2 slices of toast with the eggs?

The patio door was locked in the upstairs bedroom and we couldn’t get it open for fresh air
The shower was out of order in the back bedroom upstairs for the duration of our stay
The heat of the house was overwhelming as we couldn’t turn the gas off

Central Location, close to Dublin and other towns in Leinster. Access to good facilities in hotel with choice of Restaurants and bars. Plenty of good golf courses easily accessible from here. Adequate space in accommodation for last family or group.
Had problem with water leak in kitchen which took four attempts over three days to get resolved. Heat in the property was unbearable even with all radiators turned off. Boiler was noisy and kicked in and out two or three times a every minute.

The whole place was clean, gardens well kept and staff were all helpful and friendly. We had full access to the hotel facilities (we stayed in the holiday homes on site) The kids loved the pool which we visited every day. Trim is an ideal location as there is a huge amount to do within an hours drive from anything in Dublin to Tayto Park, to Newgrange and the Hill of Tara and of course Trim Castle itself. The town of Trim is also very well kept and has a lovely feel to it for just walking around.
We stayed in the holiday homes on site the week of the heat wave. The bed was a little 'springy' for me and they wouldn't give us the key to open the 1st floor balcony (for security reasons) but that's really the only things I can find to mark it down on.

Bar waitress didn't understand about Gluten Free and parking outside the house was bad with small children

Houses are nice. Spacious. Loads of towels and hot water and warm and we felt secure.
4pm check in is too late and 10am check out is too early. I know Covid has changed things but its not ideal. We barely had time to cook breakfast this morning. Some of the beds were really soft and you could feel the springs through them. I thought maybe a shuttle bus from hotel into Trim would be a good idea. Had to ring reception and was then given taxi number.

Loved the terrace bar and the staff were. So helpful
Loved the location of the afternoon tea and the waitress was just fantastic however the offering I felt was poor value for money mainly cakes very small savoury portion and for the price I felt it did not compare well with other experiences I have had
