Wonderful stay at Lake Villa

Great location for the nature parks. Staff were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was all freshly prepared. Fantastic wildlife visible within the hotel complex.

Shower needs to be updated.

Perfect!

Perfect! Really nice view from the pool and the staff is super friendly! We were even offered a tuktuk ride to the busstop. Would 100% recommend!

beautiful, well-kept area nice and big swimming pool service responsive to needs (late check-out due to safari, evening swimming in the pool after arrival, preparation of dinner despite late check-in time)

Friendly, peaceful, comfort and animals.

Lake Villa Resort is beautiful and tranquil. It is so peaceful and close to nature. You will see all kinds of birds and buffaloes by the lake. The swimming pool is a good spot to watch animals. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Good WiFi also. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They put in extra effort that made our stay special. We got a full day safari tour with the hotel and I’d recommend booking the tour with them. Our guide(Meneka) is very skilled at driving and spotting animals. We saw the rare Sri Lankan leopard with him! The staff even made us a table by the lake for breakfast, they are so nice!

I especially need to tell you that the staff are very humble and caring like a family The nice and tasty colourful traditional breakfast location was perfect and very relaxing The yala is also very close to the resort and has a nice and beautiful pool I also hope to visit again soon. The owner of the property is also a very nice person....

Superb

Our stay here was lovely. The staff were friendly. Peaceful surroundings with amazing birdlife. . Comfy beds. We even had some elephants across the lake.

On our first night we were in the treehouse next to the restaurant. It was really cute and comfy, but a bit noisy as it is above the kitchen. (we go to bed early) and it had no veiw. But we then moved to the upstairs room at the bottom of the garden. It was next level amazing. Wrap around balcony. Turtles. A veiw of the lake. If it's available get this one.

we stayed in a lovely cabin in the tree. it was perfect for a 2 night stay as we arrived late the first night and did an all day safari in Yala the second day. definitely recommend trying it out.

Pool with a view!

The resort is located directly next to Wirawila Lake. If you like birds there's so much to see! From hunting Kingfishers to al kinds of storks. All this is the view from your poolside bed. The safari service to Yala was well arranged. Rooms were clean and big with a balcony all around. Powercut was no problem due to the generator.

A nature lodge which doesn't disappoint

A really nice place to stay at before your Safari at Yala National Park. Even though the cook was on leave the day we arrived, the staff managed to provide us with a satisfying diner.

Best lake view hotel

Kelum was very friendly and helpful! Our lake view room had a little pond underneath with fish and turtles. Dinner at the restaurant was super tasty and very filling. Private location away from noise and people. We had a special table under the tree with lake view on our departure. Really wish we stayed for a few more nights.

only thing is that there is not much to go nearby the accommodation, but for us that wasn’t a problem because out visit to Yale.

Unforgetable experience - tree House is a must do! :)

It was the first place we stayed upon arriving in Sri Lanka. We booked the transfer from the airport and all went smoothly (nice drive, nice views). All the staff was really friendly and done everything to make you feel comfortable. We stayed in the tree house and it was like going back to childhood dreams (it even had air con, which from other places we stayed after, made us realize how well the rooms have been built and thought). The pool is also great to dive in and refresh yourself. Thank you Sunimal and Chanaka and everyone that made our stay so special. The experience was amazing and we really want to come back.

Despite the quite long walking distance from the nearest village/town, they borrowed us their scooter. Thank you so much!

Quiet retreat

Amazing views of the lake, beautiful, peaceful gardens with an abundance of wildlife. The tree houses were very quirky but access is a bit tricky. We took a full day safari, (booked through the hotel) which was a very long day. I would advise a half day. The safari guides were brilliant though and really looked after us. We used the hotel for our transport, great, helpful drivers. The food was lovely, I wanted to take the chef home with me! Most of the staff were lovely & helpful.

Okay place to stay for a day.

We booked the villa to do Yala national park safari from there which worked out fine. For any other purposes it might be bit far for walking distance but is no problem with some sort of vehicle. Overall everyone was helpful and the surrounding envoirnment and our treehouse stay were nice.

For our discomfort we discovered cockroaches in our room which ruined our stay a bit.

This hotel was an amazing experience. Our hut had a very comfortable bed, was clean and had an a deck with the look on the lagoon and lots of animals (monkeys, turtles, birds). We could relax there before our Safari. We booked our Safari and next transfer through our hotel. The Safari was the best. We saw all the animals, had a very good driver that had us at the animals within the first three cars. For the transfer we got a cheaper offer than with a private driver and he even stopped on the way for us to see a waterfall. The staff took care of everything. The food is very good and you get to sit outside in the shade enjoying your breakfast.

Nothing to complain!!! 10/10 :-)

An aesthetically pleasing place to be

It is located in front of the very natural and beautiful Weerawila Lake. The service provided by the manager and his staff was excellent as we had a very relaxed and pleasant day at this place They arranged dinner at our immediate request near the beautiful pool by the lake and it was a very happy night for us. Many thanks to the manager and staff.

Everything looked as on the photos. The room and bathroom were really spacious and comfortable. The garden is beatiful. You can observe birds from your balcony or relax by the pool. They provide packed breakfast if you go for the morning safari. We decided on Yala safari organized by them and it was also very good.

Pleasant stay

Good location and nice tree houses. The staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Especially Sunnimal who is the manager, was so welcoming. He made packed breakfast for us when we left for safari early morning. Sri Lankan rice and curry was excellent but not any other dishes.

The rooms could be a more cleaner and family friendly.
