Such a lovely warm welcome from Andy and Tanya.

This was a gem of a property!!!!! I would rate it 5 Stars. The room was beautiful, very English country style with the most comfortable bed. The en-suite came with a bath which was a real pleasant surprise. The real treat were the hosts, Andy and Tanya, prior to my stay I had lots of communication with them. I was doing an ultra bike race so I was just going to get there, sleep a few hours and leave in the early hours. Andy and Tanya made me a cook to order breakfast when I arrived at 7.30pm and made me a takeaway ham sandwich with a few treats for my journey onwards, which I really needed as there’s not many shops open where my race route was taking me at that hour in the morning. The next time I return, it will be a more leisurely stay to really enjoy this quintessential Country House.

Just spent two nights b&b over the bank holiday weekend. The hotel is located in the most peaceful place we have ever been too . The scenery is stunning, loads of walking possibilities. We walked up to Dunkery Beacon, two and a half miles uphill (wear walking boots) did not meet a sole, just some grazing sheep. Views were breath taking. Also went to Dunster Beach and walked to Minehead along the beach, again very peaceful and serene. Jane was a lovely host, nothing is too much to ask. Lovely box full of coffee tea and biscuits in our room. Cold water and milk in the guests fridge. Room clean and ample storage with views from window. Power shower, comfy bed, yummy breakfasts. Would definitely go again to explore more walks on Exmoor and the coast. X

This was a wonderful location to spend a couple of nights. Jane and John were excellent hosts and all the staff were well trained, friendly and polite. The meals were of a superb quality.
The location was quiet and the surroundings were beautiful.
Great care was taken with covid precautions.

The personal touch. Genuinely friendly welcome and attention when needed. Fabulous views (some trees blocking views from front ground floor which is a shame). Lovely room (5) with own sitting room. Good accessibility policy on website. The restaurant is lovely with some wonderful plants. Food is very tasty and beautifully presented. Wine list varied and suits all budgets. Breakfast was excellent, something for everyone, and all round lovely quality ingredients.
Not a technophobe by any means, but all TV and DVD’s are different. An idiots guide to play a DVD would be good, or a satellite TV, as we failed miserably to get the TV and DVD to speak to one another.
We did not know that pre orders for dinner were taken. This left the vegetarian with limited options, and a fairly small portion of pasta compared to the carnivores plate which was very generously proportioned. Overheard other guests being given the option of ‘requests’ at breakfast the morning after our meal.
Both very small issues amongst too many to mention good ones…..

We loved the breakfast - the sausages were very meaty and the ingredients fresh and excellent quality. The view and the location was wonderful.

Jane was such a likeable and friendly hostess who made us extremely welcome.
The bed, bedding and pillows were exceptionally comfortable.
Breakfast was fantastic and the evening meal in the restaurant was delicious. Fine dining at its best. Would highly recommend booking a table if you are staying overnight.
Great views.
We were a little underwhelmed by the bedroom.

A lovely, comfortable hotel in a perfect location for exploring Exmoor. Breakfast was very good and freshly prepared.
We would have enjoyed a lounge area with the opportunity for an evening drink. We would have liked to have a mini fridge in our room.
Dietary requirements were accommodated to an acceptable level - but I was underwhelmed by the choice.

I took my 90 year old mum for a weekend break. We had a lovely time. Wonderful views from our room and the dining room. Our room was exceptional . Clean, very comfortable and had a small lounge attached. Covid restrictions were in place and everywhere was thoroughly sanitised. Hosts were welcoming and friendly.

Jane was a welcoming hostess and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel was spotless, the beds comfortable and the linen and towels of excellent quality. John's cooking was of the highest standard and we throughly enjoyed our dinners. All in all a restful and peaceful break and we would highly recommend this hotel.
