All the staff is very attentive to all demands . Patience is an adorable and friendly person, the cook william did an outstanding job. The caretaker during the day clean the pool when some wind blow some leaves, the ladie who clean the rooms did a perfect job, and the gard at night was very friendly. All went well I can only recommand this accomodation.
One week there was too short :-)

The Location, Staff, and pool.
William the cook, is a super qualified cook and always keen to accomodate variations.
One bedroom's fan was not effective.

For a family of 4, this was the perfect accommodation for our holiday. 5 big bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a kitchen. There's no inside lounge/communal area but a big outside seating area. The pool is perfect! the kids spent hours jumping in and out and playing and there are comfy sunloungers around the pool and it's surrounded by well tended gardens. The location is brilliant, a 5 minute walk to the beach (and the excellent Mvureni bar and restaurant) and 10 minutes by tuktuk to restaurants and supermarkets. As it's in a gated community we always felt safe with the friendly security guards around. The accommodation in the area is mostly big beachfront hotels and we felt very lucky to be in our own self-contained accommodation for privacy and family time. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
As it says in the description, there's no aircon, but this would have been helpful on some of the hotter nights. WiFi worked well the first 8 days but very bad the last few days of the holiday. No hot water in the showers but you don't really need it out there! We ran out of drinking water one day (there's a big dispenser in the kitchen) and didn't realise we had to buy our own big 20litre containers for it, we thought the villa should perhaps provide this.

Nice house design. Nice swimming pool.
Location was relatively hard to find, in a gated community.
House was a bit rundown.
Unexpected encounter with a big baboon that scared the hell out of my wife.
Very expensive airport taxi (felt like a ripoff).

The villa is in a quiet neighbourhood, very close to the Beach. Our stay was wonderful, the Staff was very kind, we had amazing swahili dishes everyday that we had planned with the chef. This will definately NOT be the last time we visit Villa MADININA.

The breakfast and food in general was very well made using local ingredients. It was fresh. Different varieties. Served on time. The pool was excellent, and it was cleaned every day. The garden was lovely & provided a space for relaxation.
We could have benefitted from better orientation when we arrived & getting a little more situated in terms of the facilties available & the Villa routine. Also, the mosquitoes did quite a number on us, even though every bed has nets, they may need to invest in other ways of mitigating against them.

The design of the house
It was too far from the beach

Be prepared that the villa is located on Galu beach, 4-5 km from the center of Ukunda and large supermarkets.
Villa Madinina is perhaps the best possible option within a 5 km radius.
Ideal place for 7-10 people (keep in mind that place can accomadate 12 people, but one of the double bed is on the balcony, in the common area).
Clean, comfortable, quiet. Nice staff, equipped kitchen, clean pool, green well-groomed area, several seating areas and BBQ. Guarded parking.
To the beach 3-5 minutes walk. On the way to the beach here are small shops nearby villa for buying food and essentials. At the entrance to the beach there is a fish shop with fresh fish and seafood, and next to it good restaurant overlooking the ocean.
50 kes per person to supermarket by tuk-tuk (hire whole 100-150kes)
200 kes per person/tuk tuk to Ukunda airstrip
- no separate beds.
- I recommend buying food yourself, not relying on the chef's conscientiousness (who is assigned to the villa)
- from June to October there is a lot of algae on the beach
- beach molesters who sell coconuts and other nonsense are really annoying

Very nice food, good location, nice staff, spacious and well equipped house.

Good service from the staff anyway.
Disappointed. The place wasn't clean, the kitchen was dirty, blender was broken and towels smelled bad. But the most important thing is very poor service from the manager. The manager tried to cheat our group out of money in different ways. In addition, check-out time was until 3 p.m., but from the morning the manager called many times, he said that our group had to leave because he has other customers coming. However, according to the Booking.com website, the place was available for the next few days.
