Comfortable, quiet, good value option

Very clean, comfortable and quiet room

Located 2 km off the Camino Del Norte in a very quiet village, but there is a bus service into Markina Xemien.

Amazing caring staff. Great food.

Location is great. Food was great. Daniel went above and beyond to help me find the owner of a beautiful dog who had followed me on the Camino del Norte. This took 2 hours which we did not expect as the dog was 20 km from home.

Superb

Fantastic clean and spacious apartment with nice rustic features. Very comfy bed and everything what needed after lang day on Camino. Very steep hill to come down after detour from Camino route alternative you can continue till u reach town and then take bus to Etxebaria.

nice retreat in a quiet village

the booking photos don’t do it justice. it’s much more modern than it looks. great 2-bed apartments with modern kitchen and living room areas.

bedding could be better - pillows, duvet etc

best stay in Spain so far!

incredible stay here with lovely family running the property. they were very helpful, giving us directions down from the mountains prior to our stay. the room was probably the cleanest we have ever seen and even had a laundry machine (no dryer). we would stay here anytime passing through the area.

Lovely stay

Lovely pension in a very nice setting, convenient for the people walking the Camino del Norte. There’s a shortcut from the Camino path, indicating Etxebarria that takes you directly to the Pension. The next day ypu can take a beautiful pedestrian path that takes you into Markina.

The walls are very thin, so you can hear the neighbours. Out of Camino but you can take a bus to/from Markina.

Very good

The owner was very helpful and gave me a ride the next morning to Merkina, to continue my journey. The room was clean and had a good size.

The walls are very thin, so you could hear the neighbours. The little town has only 2 cafes, and one of them really nice food! No BF

Sweet pension

friendly lady. Room super clean. Quietest place I’ve stayed at in the Basque while hiking the Camino del Norte. It is a little out of town. There is a nice pedestrian path out of Markina X, if you can find it.

the locals in the town seem annoyed that we were there, but the property was nice and the lady who checked us in was nic

Wonderful and comfortable.

This was definitely worth a little detour away from the Camino route. I was very pleased with it it was quiet and comfortable with a huge room and bathroom. A wonderful shower and bed. Very good value for money indeed.

The town is a little too quiet there's only one restaurant but that's not the fault of the property.

The lady who owns/manages the property is a sweetheart. She helped me with the laundry and was overall very nice and helpful. The room was great and there was a coffee machine and coffee in the shared space. You can find a bar and supermarket right around the corner.

The hotel is strategically located near Markina Xemein. A friendly lady welcomed us and explained the main facilities of the room and the town.

There were no towels in our room, and no breakfast possibility, neither in the hotel nor in the town. This required us some flexibility

Very good

For those on the Camino, this is a great stopping point for the stage ending in Markina, where there is not a lot of accommodation. The Camino forks off and leads directly to this Pension, so you don't have to go through Markina and then out to here. There are a couple of tavernas in the village and Markina is about 30 mins walk away, along a lovely riverside pathway, or there is a local bus service a couple times a day. The rooms are clean and comfortable

No other facilities besides bed and bathroom.

very comfortable facilities but bit too far out of town

clean spacious rooms with comfortable beds. separate bathrooms with towels and small toiletries. use of kitchen to make tea/ coffee.

bit far out of town after long day’s Camino and walk along road not at all pleasant. we discovered afterwards we could have walked via nearby forest! also needed to pay extra if actually using kitchen facilities.

Disappointing

Clean, comfortable room

Owners not there despite being check-in time. Had to ring them and wait for them to come back from an outing. Quite a long way off the Camino. Neighbouring dog barked frequently through the night. Cleaner walked into our room without knocking when we were in bed at least 2 hours before check out time - found this to be unacceptable - would not stay here again.
