very authentic in the nature
it’s a bit too far from everything (approx. 1 hour to the next ATM). only accept cash!

There was no breakfast. Minimal cooking facilities were available for common use.
There was nothing objectionable.

The envoirment is great. There are a lot of birds in the backyard. The owner of the house (70+ years old) took me for a walk on his land and showed me some nighthawks and we tried to spot some sloths (which we did not find). The owners are nice and try to make everything as comfortable as possible.
The kitchen is outdoors and basic. There is a ricecooker, a microwave and 2 or 3 pans. There is no coffee (/coffeemaker), salt, spices or oil.

It was a quiet place with opportunities to do excursions around the accomodation. Good location to visit La Fortuna if you have a car. Big own space in front of the house.
Bad wifi. Lot of ants inside the rooms and bathrooms. Second bathroom had no sink and cold water. Not a lot of kitchen stuff to cook.
4.5
The setting is so beautiful, with flowers and trees all labelled with their names, its like a botanical garden. All kinds of birds and water fowl abound.
The road to get to the property is a tough ride with many potholes.

no hot water. no wifi the first night- was an oversight. just needed a switch in the office turned on
4.5
Nice and clean room.
Quiet location along the main road to Caño Negro.
Many mosquitos in the room but we got them all.

Wonderful nature. Very clean.
Very friendly owner.
The internet is slow. Too slow for working online

Very friendly and welcoming owners and an excellent opportunity to practise our limited Spanish. The room was very clean and quiet, making for a peaceful stay. It's a short (ca. 15 min.) walk to the nearest restaurant.
There were no meals included—not even complementary coffee, just a welcoming (delicious) dragonfruit drink. However, it is only a short walk (along a fairly busy) dirt road past a supermarket to a good restaurant located next to a seasonal lake (take mosquito repellant, especially for an evening meal there).

The room was very cheap, clean and pretty comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and offered fresh fruit juice from the garden.
The surroundings were beautiful but I only stayed one night and had to leave early so didn't get to enjoy much.
There wasn't anything to dislike about this place.

The location was great, just a few minutes from caño negro national park entrance. The staff were useful and friendly.
Air conditioning (it was actually a fan) was not working properly and it was very hot in the room, we couldn't open a lot because caño negro is full of mosquitoes.

We spent 2 weeks at the Posada Oasis and truly enjoyed every second of it.
Absolutely marvelous place, a true idyllic Oasis. Located in a beautiful huge garden, full of splendid flowers, fruit trees and tropical plants.
Our hosts, Alba and Oscar, were simply wonderful. They kept showing us interesting animals and plants in the garden, treated to some delicious local fruit and even invited us to plant 2 trees :) We had some nice interesting talks with both of them, they were very helpful, considerate and caring at all times, from the moment we arrived till seeing us off to the bus. Thank you so much for everything!!!±
Their daughter Carla, sons and grandsons helped around the property too and were always extremely accommodating and nice.
There was a perfect balance of providing guests with privacy and being close enough at all times to assist if needed.
A local shop is around 10 minutes walk. We cooked our meals in a lovely shared outdoor kitchen, very well equipped.
Strong 2 fans in the room, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom with big shower. Regular housekeeping.
Amazing hammock on each porch, I could spend hours in there, just chilling and admiring the beautiful garden and numerous hummingbirds and butterflies.
Lack of multiple lights = wonderful night sky, we saw Milky Way and ridiculous amount of stars.
Ants inside the room, occasionally biting us during the night.

One of the best and most surprisingly beautiful places in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 +++ for the lovely and wonderful owners!!!!

The owner was very kind and organized our river trip for us when we arrived. She recommended a yummy restaurant and was available if we had any questions. Her garden is beautiful. The room was simple but clean.
The double bed was a bit small for 2 people. Better off with two single beds for more comfort next time.

Comfortable room and access to a shared kitchen. Quiet location. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great place to stay!

Very clean, safe, secure parking, beautiful garden, extremely helpful & acommodating hosts. The friendly owner even gave me a private tour of all the trees he planted. His grandson even helped me print something on the computer. The personal touch that makes the difference.

Alma and Oscar were very pleasant to deal with. Oscar in particular as he led me on a wildlife tour around the property. The room was small but comfortable. The shower was hot. We will be staying there again.

Very nice place close to boat trips in Caño negro. Rooms clean and quiet.

Good accommodation, friendly and helpful hosts, lovely garden, hummingbirds!!

Beautiful garden and animals to pet and monkeys to watch. Good kitchen area
They charged me the commission fees which I argued it was supposed to be paid by the hotel.
First place I have stayed ever that charge the booking commission to the client.
That practice should not be allowed.

I had a wonderful time in a very quiet place with forests all around. The staff of the hotel were very kind and warm in welcoming me. If I have a chance to go to Cano negro again, I will definitly stay at this hotel!!
Wifi was very slow...

Breakfast was not included. However, there was a small communal kitchen. The location was ideal for visiting Caño Negro. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to get some laundry done for a small fee.
The room was very hot. The fan helped but it was too warm to sleep comfortably.

Absolutely calm & peaceful compound, beautiful garden (lot of birds, e.g. humming birds), amazing landlady was taking care of us (she prepared us fresh smoothie and fruits, she was like our grandma). We really enjoyed the stay there! We could park the car almost in front of our door :) Minimarket 900m, restaurant Fogón with great smoke pork 1000m.
Notification: the staff speaks only spanish. Ventilators at the room were noisy (bring your ear plugs). 2 km from the town center.

Beautifully kept gardens, flowers, birds, it is so tranquil I could just sit outside my room all day. The owners remember me by name each time I go, about once a year. Mr Oscar even gave me cuttings from his plants so I could put them in my own garden. I can recommend 2 nearby restaurants, El Fogon and El Tabacan. A cut above the average and still very reasonable. Take a boat trip and see the Turtles, giant Iguanas and Crocodiles. costs about $40 for 2 to 3 hrs.
The road from Upala to get there is horrendous, Dirt road, more potholes than road for 10 Kms. But once you are there its well worth it.

Everything was great. The property is spectacular, the owners are extremely nice (unfortunately only speak spanish, which I do so it wasn't a problem). The owner gave a tour of his property and invited me to plant a tree. It is extremely peaceful, there a load of birds and other wildlife. There's access to a kitchen. I loved everything about it. This is what Costa Rica used to feel like before it got overly touristy.
Nothing, everything perfect.
