Très bel établissement et très bien situé

Soleil d’Or is a tiny slice of paradise tucked away in the southern part of the medina without the hassle/scamming. It’s an absolute oasis and the owner is a delight. Finest riad of my 6 week trip though Morocco.

The architecture
It wasn’t very clean. No decent shampoo/soap. It looked used and not professional. The attendant scheduled my taxi for the wrong time due to Ramadan time change. Missed my bus and almost missed my flight due to unexpected large taxi expense.

The beauty of the Riad was exquisite and the bed was very comfortable.
The localisation was okay (around 20-30 mins walk from the Medina centre).
During the evening the place was silent and it was easy to ask for a tea or something else.
There were quite some difficulties that we were facing while being there.
The main one was a lack of communication from the owner. A good example here is that we stayed during the Ramadan month meaning that the clock was set backwards (this lead to confusion on the final day were during the night we woke up an hour earlier because of the clock and then spend an hour and a half waiting for a taxi service around 3 am). Finally regarding the payment she wanted to charge us for the tea's even though this was not mentioned in the rules that we would need to pay for this (luckily my girlfriend raised the question, leading to her scratching this from the payment).
The second one was the smell of the bedroom, basically the restroom had an open door towards the bedroom (meaning that all of the smells drew into the room).
Thirdly, throughout the evening we were facing some difficulties with the facilities. 1 of our lights in the bedroom was broke and the other not really strong, the Wi-Fi was super bad and finally the breakfast was as basic as possible (bread, tea, coffee, jam and yogurt).

Excellently refurbished Riad and well located near the old Madina of Fes. The details of the decorations of the Riad is so good that you will take pictures every day of different details. The manager of the Riad is so helpful and dedicated that made our stay delightful, we will definitely recommend this Riad to any of our friends and family who would like to visit Fes or Morocco in general.

The overall experience was amazing from the arrival to the checkout, Souad was always responding positively to our requests with a big Smile.
The riad is very well located and rooms were great.

The perfect place to visit Fès. Hidden on the edge of the Medina, which makes it ideal for both visits inside the Medina, as well as outside the old part.
The Riad is beautiful, with spacious beautiful rooms with all the luxury you will need, and a lovely pool to cool off a bit. Breakfast is delicious.
But the very best part of this Riad is Souad!! She is amazing. You will feel at home the second you step inside. She is hospitable, kind, funny and always ready to help.
Souad, thank you for making our stay at Fès unforgettable. Till next time, InsAllah.

Stunning riad that has been impeccably restored and renovated by the owner.
The room that we stayed in was very spacious with beautiful details.
Souad was very pleasant to deal with.
Personal choice really but the modern furniture lets this riad down.
It completely clashes with the beautifully restored traditional riad.

Great location, great host and beautiful place. Great to stay at a very traditional Riad in the Medina. Great experience.

Impressive décor, felt like in a palace rather than a riad. Very tasteful blend of modern and traditional Moroccan style.
Beautiful pool and facilities.
Breakfast was adequate and sufficient.
Personnel were challenged by the language barrier, yet did their best to be helpful and friendly.
Staff weren't always present.
No key was provided to go in and out of the room or the property (it had to be left behind), so guests were forced to bother staff to get in after leaving.
It is not a centric location, but this was considered an advantage in this case as it proved very quiet and peaceful.
