With hardwood floors, beautiful wood finishes, dormer windows, and incredible architecture, it feels like you have stepped back in time, but still have the convenience of modern amenities. The house was built in 1911, but has been maintained impeccably.
With unique style and art, the house is ready for guests who are looking for comfort, unique features, incredible views and location, location, location! This unit is perfect for people looking to enjoy all that Denver has to offer!
Surrounded by breweries, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, Cherry Creek Trail, Trader Joe's, beautiful old mansions, it is literally in the best location in Denver! Everything within a block or two of the house! Off street parking, washer and dryer, television, internet, all part of the package. 4:20 friendly!
The huge main living room includes a sitting area with comfortable contemporary seating, and a large dining table for 6 for long, leisurely dinners. French doors open to the room from a small patio on that side to bring in light and air. The bedroom is a large, beautiful room with large closets and dressers, and seating as well. A pull out bed is available in the large sitting room, for two more guests. Tons of space for four people to enjoy a fun trip together, or a perfect spot for a couple.
The kitchen has a full 4 burner range and a full refrigerator. We keep the unit stocked with beautiful hand thrown pottery plateware. Full basic amenities from salt and pepper, cooking oil, laundry supplies, bathroom supplies, and toilet paper and paper towels.
AMENITIES
Towels, sheets, and blankets are all on the beds, and available for the queen pull out, as well. Towels can be found in the bedroom closet, up on the shelf.
There are also shampoo, soaps, conditioners, etc, left for your use.
In the bathroom cupboard you will find hair curlers, blow dryer, and a straightener.
Toilet paper is in there as well, and extra paper towels are under the sink.
We try to make sure there is salt, pepper, olive oil, sugar, and basic spices there for your use, and whatever gets left by a guest will be left and we welcome using whatever products are left behind. Perishables are disposed of after every visit.
We keep laundry soap and dryer sheets in the guest room closet, as well.
The shower can a squeegee; please wipe the glass after use!
LAUNDRY
There is a laundry room on the lowest level of the house. To reach it, you will need to take the key hanging by the door, and go down the external staircase. You will see a glass door on the side of the main house, near the carriage house. Unlock that door and you will find the laundry room on your left. The laundry is shared by the tenant down there, but is secure and you will not need to worry about theft, so feel comfortable leaving your laundry in a cycle and heading out. Laundry can be moved over, and dried on a regular cycle, if you find a load in the washer that is complete. Dried laundry can be left in a pile on the counter in there, if you need to move a load in to dry.
There will be a sign available to set up on the dryer, if you have a load that needs a special delicate drying cycle, so please follow that signage if you find you are moving a load out for someone. Generally, this will not be an issue.
CLEANING SUPPLIES
There is a broom and dustpan, and a self-wringing mop in the bedroom closet, if you have any spills that need cleaning up. There is also a spray can of windex for any extra clean up that you want to do during your stay. Extra trash bags can be found under the kitchen sink.
KITCHEN
The antique stove that is in the kitchen has supplies like dish towels, cutting boards, hot pads, and tupperware in it, so make sure to, when looking for supplies, check in there as well.
GRILLING
Out on your porch you will find a small charcoal grill. This will be set up with charcoal, and there is extra charcoal under the kitchen sink behind the recycling can. That is also where you will find the lighter fluid. Please take all normal care when using a charcoal grill, and if you dispose of the ash, wait until it is fully cooled and put it in its own bag inside the trash.
There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink!
RECYCLING AND TRASH
The trash can can be found under the sink. If you find you have filled the trash or recycling, you can take it down and throw it in the cans, which are located between the carriage house and parking area behind a fence. You can throw trash and recycling directly into the cans and it does not need to be bagged. Extra trash bags can be found under the sink. The recycling bin is in the closet beside the dining area.
LUGGAGE STORAGE and PACK AND PLAY
In the same closet by the dining area, you will have ample space to store luggage, if you would like to get it out of the way.
There is also a Pack and Play available for use if you have a little one with you. This is also where you will find the spare comforter and pillows for the pull out sofa.
AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING
Both the bedroom and the living room have a remote control on the wall that controls the heating/air conditioning for the rooms. These split units work excellently. Please consider turning them off if you leave, as they heat up and cool instantaneously. There is central heat through the radiators that keep the entire house heated to a base temperature, and the split units are intended to reach your perfect personal comfort.
Guests will have full private access to the attic unit. There is a private entrance, through the exterior staircase, up to the porch, and with a code lock to enter the unit. The entry is from the porch, through the bathroom (a small oddity of an over 100 year old house!), and then into the kitchen.
**While the unit is totally kid friendly, the stairs leading to it are very steep, and the roof meets to porch, so children will need to be watched closely at all times when outside to make sure they climb the stairs safely, and don't climb on the roof when outside.
THE PROPERTY
You can see, where you part is the original carriage house. It is now an apartment that has a long term renter in it. The garden level of the main house also has a full time tenant living in it, so when you are parking, coming and going, you will see these renters from time to time!
PARKING
There is one off street parking spot for your use. When you drive up the driveway, it is the spot in the gravel directly straight ahead. Please park as far to the left as you can, to ensure room for the other cars in the parking area. There will often be a car parked at the end of the driveway closest to the street, and you might have to drive around to the left of the car to get into the back lot.
ENTRY TO APARTMENT
Once you are parked you will see a two story external staircase leading up to your attic unit. Go ahead up the stairs, and the door directly in front of you will have a keyless entry pad on it. The code to the door will be texted or emailed directly to you a couple of days before your stay.
The porch you are standing on when you enter is your private outdoor patio. Please ENJOY! It is Colorado, so we are Maryjane friendly, though there is absolutely no cigarette smoking on the property. We do hope you have the time to sit and enjoy the sunsets with a glass of wine and enjoy dinners outside. Make sure to turn the hanging string lights on at night!

We enjoyed our stay in this unique rental. Very comfortable with a great porch to chill out on at night. The property is in a fantastic location in the city. The owners were very responsive to any calls/texts. Next time you're in Denver look this place up!

The host, Emily, lives on site and greeted us when we arrived. She was very helpful getting us settled and was available for any issues we may have encountered, but there were none. The property is in the perfect location with easy access to anything you might want to do. There are great restaurants and bars in the area, all within walking distance. We actually stayed in the carriage house due to issues in the main house and the space was cozy and comfortable with everything you would need. We were here a week and would definitely stay again. Thank you, Emily!

Perfect location, gracious host
This was our first time to explore Denver. We could not have found a better location for doing so. There is much to see and do within walking distance - beautiful historic homes and the phenomenal Botanic Gardens. The place itself is delightfully decorated with off street parking! Our host treated us royally, happily accommodating all our needs. Highly recommend.

Great Stay!
We had an excellent stay at this Capitol Hill mansion! So much character and very spacious! It had everything we needed. You enter from the top so be prepared to go up the staircase that is pictured. We loved relaxing on the private deck.
The neighborhood is super cute. Definitely a lot quieter and more low-key than downtown. It is a bit far from the downtown neighborhoods if you are planning to go there frequently. We travelled around easily via scooters and appreciated being in a quieter, more scenic part of town. It also isn't too far from Cheesman park and the botanical gardens, which was nice! Would definitely stay there again.

Awesome place to stay in Denver
We LOVED this stay! Super private, rooftop deck, great communication with owners but only needed them for a AC reset. Everything we needed for 4 days was there and ready. Groceries, food, bars, entertainment all within walking distance and we felt perfectly safe wondering around. LOVE IT! Will stay again and again.

Affordable Vacation Spot in Downtown Denver!
I really enjoyed my time here with my girlfriend. The Appartment is beautiful and has everything you could ever need. Itās located near some great food if you want to walk but is also a short drive or Uber away from so many great thing! Parking is tight squeeze but thatās is to be expected in the city. Overall, property is amazing and I canāt say enough good things about space and the owner!!!

Great place to stay in Capitol Hill
The accommodations were very comfortable and we loved the location. The owners were extremely nice and accommodating. They provided everything we needed, including everything for grilling dinner to enjoy on the deck. Just be sure you and your pets, if applicable, donāt mind climbing the stairs for entrance to the accommodations.

Not A Great Stay
I've rented a lot of VRBO homes and I always go first class. This was not a first class apt as described online. Im a real estate agent for builders so I know houses. Im happy to give a list to the owners of improvements they can make to the apt to make it closer to first class. Most important: update your listing. The password to door is only accurate on the detail page. What pops up on your phone when you arrive only gives code but does not say push lock button after code. The password to internet is not correct online. The book inside with correct password was not out in plain sight. Leave it out in the open so people see it when they arrive. Its not really in a location to walk to a-lot. A small handful of restaurants and Trader Joes does not really count. You really have to drive to get anywhere good. So listing is misleading.

This is a lovely apartment on the third floor of an historic house in Capital Hill area. Walking distance from everything we needed! I would saw that the stairs would be a concern for people with mobility issues, but my husband and I viewed them as an opportunity to get our steps in!

Visiting my sons
The place was perfect, sunny and so comfortable, hard to leave! Right in the heart of Denver, we really didn't need a car, although there was off-street parking for one. We cooked meals for six in the kitchen and sat out on the porch. Will definitely stay again.

Perfect place, perfect visit
My husband and I came to Denver to visit our daughter and were thrilled to find our Vrbo in such a beautiful and lively location We had Trader Joeās, fabulous restaurants and even a winery within walking distance and we loved the spacious open views from the apartment. Last nights sunset from the deck was just the icing on the cake. Emily, our host, was incredibly responsive to our every need. We will be back!

Staying in the Heights
This VRBO is ideally located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver. The apartment is on the upper level of the home, but it is so comfortable with a great view due to a spacious wood deck looking out toward the sunset. You can feel welcomed and āat homeā during your stay.

Capitol Hill
The apartment was wonderful and Emily was most accommodating. The location is within walking distance to the Denver Botanical Garden, Denver Art Museum, Molly Brown Museum, and much more. There are so many great eating establishments close by. There are steps to the apartment but we felt it counteracted our delicious meals!

Great Capital Hill Location
Had a great stay. Had every thing we needed with a great location. Private entrance to fourth floor apartment is great, but comes at cost of a steep external metal staircase. Not best for those with height issues.

Two Night Stay
This property was beautiful and the host was awesome. The neighborhood is full of beautiful homes, walkable attractions, and friendly locals. Even when our dog was being noisy while we were at a Rockies game, the host was extremely understanding and laid back about letting us know. We were only there for a couple nights but I'll hold on to my time relaxing on that patio until we visit again. Can't recommend this place enough!

Amazing Property, Will Definitely Be Back!
Super cute accommodations and very good communication with owner, wouldn't change a thing. Easy walk to nearby restaurants and Trader Joe's. Many restaurants were open for outside dining with lots of propane heaters (we were comfortable in winter attire at about 45 degrees).

Amazing & one of a kind
Everything was accurate in the description and pictures. The deck was awesome & has a beautiful view. Plenty of room for two adults and two dogs. Never have i stayed in a VRBO/ AirBnb with a kitchen stocked with literally everything we needed and then some. Couldnāt have found a better location with lots of food, bars, shopping, parks, everything you need all very close. Overall our stay was amazing and would definitely love to stay there again!

A few winter days on Capital Hill
We stayed 4 days at Emilyās delightfully spacious, bright, clean, and cheerful āservantās quartersā apt. The views were special, the neighborhood full of interesting and pleasantly inspirational folk, and the kitchen well stocked. The built inās and the plumbing/heating/WiFi all were nicely functional and efficient.
Bed was comfortable and warm. The driveways and the steps (!) were shoveled promptly. A most happy stay and weād be most happy to return. Owners were friendly and courteous, without any intrusiveness. A charming place!
