The hotel was excellent in all but two points. The room was spacious and very clean. The shower had sufficient hot water and the bathroom was very clean and equipped with all necessary amenities. The bedding was very comfortable. The comforter was thick enough for me, not flimsy like other hotels.
I had dinner at the restaurant on the 5th floor and found the food very tasty. The breakfast was sufficient, but if you stay a few days, you might get bored.
The hotel staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant, were very efficient and hospitable, which made a very good impression on me.
I would stay there again if there were not repeated blackouts and problems with the electrical system.
There were four or five power outages in one night. I looked outside to see if all the surrounding areas were also without power, but neither the building next door nor the surrounding buildings were without power. Also, the lower floors and halls of the hotel that I could see from my room were not without power. I called the reception and was told that the power would be back in a short while, but my room was the only one that did not have power.
I eventually had an engineer come to check it out and found out that I had to leave the room, open the door with my card key, and insert the card key back into the key holder to get the electricity to work again in my room. I was really fed up with having to do that so often at night.
The air conditioner runs on its own suddenly, which may be a problem with the electrical system, so the room gets cold and I have to get up and turn it off each time. I asked the receptionist when I checked out and was told that air conditioner turns on by itself every room in the hotel in the morning. I woke up cold because the air conditioner turned on by itself.
One outlet was not usable because it was in an odd shape. There was a desk light on the desk, but it could not be used because it could not be plugged into the outlet.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great view from rooftop bar/restaurant.

Cosy rooms and one of the best locations in KTM. Rooftop bar was a highlight and the food was amazing. Super friendly staff.
Breakfast buffet could be better.
4.0 / 5.0
Excellent location, friendly and attentive staff, clean and modern rooms.
Breakfast is ok but only a few western options and only Nescafé coffee. Such a pity considering that the hotel has a coffee bar just next to the breakfast area. I found it weird that reception called every night to ask if I had dinner (even after having eaten in their restaurant).

I really liked this hotel for the following reasons :
The restaurant on the top of the hotel
The view from upstairs (a 360 degrees view on Katmandu)
The breakfast is quite good
The service from the hotel's employees who are really eager to respond to your needs.
The price of the room is really good in comparison with the service and the size of the room
The restaurant offers a variety of foods but it is quite expensive.

Great view over Patan and Kathmandu from the terrace.
Excellent food for lunch/dinner. Best Momos I have had during my stay.
Very friendly staff.
Good location in Bakundohl, also close to old center of Patan.
In total we stayed about 2 weeks in Hotel Kutumba.
The focus of the breakfast is nepali-indian style. For continental breakfast it is not so good - actually gets quite boring after a few days.
