great location
room 4, shower head, walls and tray were dirty, grout missing on floor tiles, hot tap on sink loose and dripping. Alot of road noise throughout the night.

Great location
No lift
Too noisy from the road. It was a quaint road but like sleeping on the Motorway. The traffic never stopped, do didn't get any sleep.

The George, was not a pub or a hotel, but bedrooms to rent. The price was half what we would have paid in a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants near for our needs. We wereonly standing for one night but stayed on for a second night at a cheaper .
A lift would have been nice as we are 87.but the staff carried our case up the stairs.

Great location on the highstreet, and the availability of spaces in the hotel car park was good. Rooms are a good size. Nothing else.
Staff were fine but didn't check how my stay was on checkout. Which would be fine had the experience been better.
Firstly upon getting into bed the sheets felt damp, as though they needed a little longer in the drier. I am tall and the low ceiling of the room hurt on occasion; and the bed having a footboard was an annoyance, but that's only relevant if you are tall.
In the morning I was awoken by the sound of running water from other guests using facilities, not obnoxiously loud, but enough to wake me at 7.45 after a night of heavy celebratory drinking until 1am.
The hot water for the shower only ran for a few seconds before completely losing all pressure, even the cold water was at very low pressure. Effectively no shower available. Even if it had been, it would have been an awkward experience as there was a low ceiling resulting the the shower head holder being what would be around chest height on the average person (and I am taller than average).
Overall, left feeling quite miserable and just wanted to get out asap.

Nice location, friendly staff, easy check in and out process
No heating overnight, had to sleep in hoodies

the location, the building, the friendly people of Battle
Bathroom might benefit from a remodel. I couldn’t work the soap dispenser in the tub properly so it fell apart when I was trying to shower after walking to Battle from Pevensey.

Simple, basic accommodation and does the job. Wifi worked well. Staff kind and helpful. Has a car park.
Small hole in window.

The location was good and the staff were polite and helpful.
It wasn’t as bad as I’d expected after reading some recent reviews.
Generally run down. For the same price some B&B owners make such an effort to provide a great and comfortable experience ( I know because I’ve stayed in many ) while others just don’t. It was drab and uninviting.

The bathroom was decent and clean, gentlemen on reception was nice
We were at the top.floor of the building. I knew there was no lifts and would have to walk up the spiral stairs but there are parts that u could easily fall. Cobwebs and files in in the window, window had gaps at the top of it.
Window was slighly open with curtain hanging out the window, curtain had paint marks. I put the curtains back in the room pushed up the window to open it a bit more and it slammed down shut nearly catching my fingers if i hadn't moved it quickly. Phoned to complain about both issues, woman who answered not helpful or sorry just saying yeah room need maintenance, i said thats not going to help me and asked to change rooms, but apparently hotel full but we only saw 1 other guest the whole time we were there. She sent someone to come fix the window, he put some sort of kitchen pipe tube added what looked like a sink chain to hold up the window which maint i couldnt shut it, we couldn't believe it and told him it was dangerous, he didnt really understand as his English was not very good but he was nice and tried. I asked to speak with the manager but he kept saying she was sleeping. He left and i never heard anything from from the manager the whole 2 nights i was there. In the end i had to shut the window with my friends help as i was cold, which meant i couldn't even have it open at times which meant no fresh air and left me feeling stuffy. The view was horrible, no mirrows in bedroom. The building is in desperate need of repair all over. I knew breakfast wasn't included in the room stay but to charge £96 for a room like that is very very overpriced..

Absolutely nothing, it's an awful and expensive place to stay
The place was deserted the only member of staff we saw over our three days there was an incredibly rude man who checked us in, there was an old empty fridge just left on the landing along with an ironing board and iron,on returning to our room one afternoon there were no lights on and the place had been left staffless and semi-dark and the £250.00 we had to spend on staying in such a dreadful place was outrageous, I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone!.

Rooms was comfortable and value for money. All rooms are large and spacious. with varying sizes of bath/shower rooms. all more than adequate for our purpose.
Some aspects were tired and in need of an update but on the whole very good. Much improved from 2 years ago. We will be back next year.

Lovely old building in the heart of Battle.
Slightly surely staff, bland room with lots of Grey. Shame the room was so insensitively decorated.
The stay was ok, good value for money.

Good location, good sized room and ensuite.

Staff were friendly, room and common area's were clean and tidyl
I would certainly recommend asking for a room at the rear of the hotel as the front overlooks the main thoroughfare which can be noisy along with some window rattling if its windy. This being said, a room at the front with earplugs is not so bad.

Found the man on reception rude

Yola was extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are all modernised and spotlessly clean, very comfy beds. Some of the hotel is being refurbished but it was no issue.

The WiFi worked well.
Cracked sink. Cracked floor tiles. Shower head holder taped to stop it falling off. Shower head useless. No hook in shower for towels etc. The TV was small. What’s worse , it didn’t work. Overall poor, everything needed replacing. During the middle of the night
someone was crashing around outside banging on the doors trying to gain entrance. Heard some woman really scream.
