Comfortable rooms, very clean, friendly staff and good location

We had a really warm welcome with a choice of rooms, lovely food and beautiful gardens.

The room was spacious and had a great shower

The room was a good size
The on suite was tiny; towels and toiletries were of very bad quality; in particular the towels were very small. Very poor value for money at £198 per night with poor facilities. Would not recommend.

loved everything about it.
wasn’t able to stay long enough!

Lovely.country house very conveniently situated just off A21. Staff very friendly and helpful, food was good, both evening meal and breakfast. Nice beer garden and cosy lounge bar. Bedroom was clean with toiletries and good quality bedding and towels.
We had a compact double room and it is quite small, however they do warn you of this. I would say it is well worth paying extra for a superior room.

A very welcome oasis during moving

clean, nice breakfast, plenty of parking, well signposted
The restaurant was closed on Sunday evening.

Super room, clean comfortable and well appointed. Friendly greeting on arrival. Excellent breakfast. Smiley cheery staff.
Evening meal a bit of a let down and rather poor service from young and obviously inexperienced waitress as she never returned to get our sweet order. However they had just had a function and maybe just short staffed.

New Year’s Eve stay with dinner - food was exceptional - this is our 2nd time for nye - lovely quiet dining room, few other guests, great service - perfect if you don’t want the usual noise and hilarity of nye - lovely grounds as well - rooms are comfortable with four poster bed or sleigh bed - tea and coffee making - breakfast was also exceptional - staff were helpful and friendly - highly recommended

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms.

The Claverton is ideally situated with beautiful views. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and very comfortable. The staff were amazing and super friendly even when faced with rude, entitled customers.
We had breakfast included with our stay and also had dinner one evening. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.
Just a couple of minor decorating issues. Some marks and scratches on walls, a bit of duck tape visible behind the TV.

front door required a keyed access, very secure. secluded, clean and spacious.
friendly staff, excellent food.
lots of space for parking.

The whole atmosphere was fantastic , the moment we arrived we were greeted by a young lady who was friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The room was huge and there was a nice bar area . The breakfast was served in a quaint dining room and was great value for money
might need a little TLC in places

Breakfast outstanding

Really comfortable and quiet, just off the beaten track. Stylish. Cosy lounge with range of books and games. Good choice of drinks made the lounge a lovely spot to relax in the evenings, watching the wild rabbits coming on to the lawns to feed.
Pretty grounds with outdoor seating in well kept garden.
Easy to access main road for days out. Plenty of parking space available.
The staff were all very attentive, friendly and determined to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Breakfast had an excellent range of choices. My husband's lactose intolerance was handled well.
Dinner offered a range of pub style meals.
A good base for exploring the Battle area.
There is very little to say here! Perhaps more vegetable based ranges on the dinner menu. We were there for a week, pub grub might pall a bit for some.
Road signs for hotel turning could be a bit further away from the entrance to give more warning of approach!

Everything was excellent or better than expected. The hotel and its staff are an object lesson on how a hotel should appear, run, serve and satisfy the customer.
Nothing that I can think of

It was our second stay at the Claverton and it didn’t disappoint. We were initially given a very small room which was cosy but then upgraded to a lovely room overlooking the beautiful gardens. The staff are what makes this hotel exceptional Sophie went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.
The restaurant is not open on Sunday evening.

The hotel is lovely and the staff could not be more polite, efficient and helpful. The grounds are well cared for and it was nice to sit out on a warm day. We stayed in room 4, a lovely room with a four poster bed overlooking the garden.
The restaurant - breakfast was great and fresh cooked to order but the evening meal was disappointing, The menu was more like a pub menu and the quality was average (I expected more for the price) We paid £25 for a bottle of wine that retails for £10.50. The room while lovely was expensive for what it was (more expensive than many spa hotels). The shower had poor pressure but was functional but at the point where the tiles met the shower basin there was black dirt or mould.

we stay here a lot because we like it so much.
staff are all nice and welcoming. the breakfast
on the 20th august was exceptional cooked
to perfection. the food is always of good
quality
there is nothing I didn’t like but the toilet seat
in room 4 was loose kept moving when you
used the toilet nothing major and we did tell
the young lady at reception in the morning
(think her name was Lucy sorry if I got it
wrong) but like I say it wasn’t a big problem.
