A wonderful hotel
Sadly, on arrival, the person on reception was very confused about the breakfast arrangements was trying to tell us we needed to book on, and there were only very early sittings available. A guest told us otherwise, and the guest was correct.

The room was very comfortable and had everything you would need for a stay. The breakfast was outstanding and was served on the outside terrace by friendly staff.
It was a very hot few days on our stay and air conditioning would have been welcomed. The lift was out of order on our stay which meant climbing stairs, however the staff were helpful with the suitcases.
4.2
The staff were very friendly and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Spa was fabulous too.
The Spa and Pool facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed the Food in the restaurant.

We really loved staying in Daynesfield House. From the moment we drove up the winding driveway and saw the Christmas lights all over the driveway entrance trees we gasped in amazement.
It was pretty spectacular. The rooms were lovely, spacious.bathroom also very lovely.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was beautiful.?The interiors are breath taking and the gardens just romantically beautiful.Would absolutely recommend staying here.A most memorable experience if you love grandeur and stately homes.
Had dinner in the dining area.It was lovely.
Because our Australian dollar is v e r y low at the moment it made the dinner very expensive.

Whole thing was lovely. The atmosphere at the hotel is refined and relaxed. The staff were extremely helpful from the minute we arrived until we said goodbye.

The most charming and Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, beautiful grounds and views.
Food was delicious, it all just exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return!

. The food was good and plentiful, but cold congealed egg is unpleasant.
The dining area had a lovely outlook. The coffee was hot and good.
Due to a wedding party attending, pressure on staff was such that a cup of coffee took four requests/ chasing up to arrive. The young staff staff appeared ill-trained and inexperienced. This situation has previously been flagged on TripAdvisor. Ditto tired, worn and grubby furniture and fittings in the public areas. The door to the main reception area toilet facilities was marked, worn and grubby from many hands using it. Again, a comment frequently raised on Trip Advisor. WHY hadn't I taken more notice????
As I booked on line, when booking, as requested, dinner that night, the webpage advised that the restaurant was fully booked. This was a HUGE disappointment, as that was to be my hi-light of a treat stay. I booked in to a local pub. On arrival at the hotel, the reception staff however, advised that this was not the case and they could have fitted me in. Too late!!
My room, as a single guest I suspect, was a garret room, with views of sky and turrets. This was supposed to be a 4* hotel.
On arrival at the dining room, for breakfast, the young staff member curtly advised that her colleague would seat me........eventually a rather frantic staff member guided me to one of several empty tables. The eggs, when they arrived were cool, and cold by the time I had finished.
I am likely to never return and will not recommend Danesfield House to anyone. They need to up their game. Following letters to management, expressing my deep disappointment, I received a trite letter simply apologising and offering the person's personal assistance when I next returned. As if. What a waste of money.

Overall it was very good. Very comfortable rooms/beds, with nice decoration. Very good breakfast and dinner - choice and freshness. Very good service overall.
A bit pricey.

I booked for my husband and I, mentioning that I have reduced mobility and couldn’t do much stairs. In fact I suffer from severe pelvic girdle pain due to my pregnancy. They gave me a room first floor (one set of stairs) which is fair enough. In all fairness, I didn’t ask beforehand if the room had a shower, as I assumed they do. Once in the room, I saw it only had a bathtub into which I can’t climb, so I called reception to ask if they could move me to a similar room but with shower.30mn later a lady from reception came (I was very grateful at that point) and asked us to follow her to room 221. There is where it starts: firstly the gave me a room up more stairs. i thought ok it’s not too many, I’ll make an effort. Now this room was smaller, the bed was much smaller, the window also smaller with, for a view, a big spider web and a black roof (vs the garden view I had before) and, I experienced later, the bed pillows were hard, thin and the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. It felt like the room was available because they never give it to anyone. Again I thought: let’s not make a fuss, we lost over 30mn waiting already, maybe that’s all they have. However I did note that the receptionist played dumb and didn’t say anything about them “maybe” only having this far inferior room for me. Anyway, there was a shower in this one, so I was trying to be reasonable. Until I notice that the shower had no handset. it used to be there it seemed, but had been removed. So I was stuck with the top fixed head, which sent quite spread out water jets and one drop of cold water constantly dripping on its side. Now as I am heavily pregnant I hope you would understand why a moving shower hand, is important for me. Access to all parts of the body is not obvious. So here frustration starts getting the better of me. I grudgingly asked my husband to help me go in the bathtub but no luck again: the water pressure there was an absolute joke. Continues below…
At this point, pregnancy not helping, i started crying. I felt like I was being punished for changing room or actually more like taken for a ride by the hotel. On the next occasion I had to speak with the receptionist later in the evening, I told her everything I’m describing above and clearly stated that I was super upset and that it had ruined my whole week-end. She seemed genuinely attentive and said she’s talk to the manager to see what they could do to make me feel better. So you’d think the manager would react at least just to acknowledge us and apologise to a current guest being this unhappy... Think again! Nobody contacted me during my stay and there was no recollection or trace of my complaint when I checked out. I gave them another chance at check out, as I mentioned that I had complained the night before and was expecting someone to get back to my at least with a word of apology. The lady didn’t seem very curious about the matter but she went to check for a manager I could talk to. then she came back to say that the evening manager was not there at that time (didn’t she know this before asking me to wait?) and that she’ll contact me at some point. So I just left with the bitter taste of a failed attempt to relax and get pampered in a luxurious hotel. If the hotel staff is reading this, don’t bother replying and contacting me now. You had your chance to speak to me face to face or over the phone during my stay and didn’t give a damn. Any public reply now is worthless to me and I hope it will be to whomever is interested by my review of your hotel.

Beautiful period property, well kept, and wonderful spa. Surrounded my lush and green countryside.
Wasn’t able to control the heating in our room.

The hotel is outstanding. The taxi company they used however to take us into town ripped us off. Charged £14 for a £7 journey. As proven when we used UBER for the return trip
Taxi company the hotel used.

Wonderful location. Fascinating history. A glorious house with mostly delightful staff.
The bed! Hard and uncomfortable.
One rather superior staff member, completely out of tune with all the other hardworking, very helpful personnel.

Everything was lovely, especially the grand room spa and fitness centre. It was clean, relaxing and beautiful to look at. The grand room with the Christmas tree and fire place in the evening was absolutely stunning. We didn't eat at the hotel but we will next time.

Beautiful building in a fabulous location
Staff are a little dismissive, except reception. Office party ruined our stay - noisy drunk guests up at all hours of the night.
4.2
Beautiful location, lovely spa and good food (when it arrived!).
Service for breakfast was extremely slow (waited an hr for our cooked breakfast!) and the hotel wasn't kept warm enough. Room had no extra blanklets or adequate heating to keep warm at night.
