The room was just unacceptable

Breakfast was lovely, the staff were friendly and nothing was rushed. The rooms was spotless with wonderful amenities. The bed was very comfortable.
Nothing.

Lovely en-suite bedroom. Both breakfast and food overall were good. Very attractive old building and good location.
Service on Friday night was disjointed and very slow. Seemed to be a new team not well focused. Saturday morning table not laid for breakfast and waiter seemed surprised to see us. In the room we had a self emptying bath, as the plug didn’t sit flush!

Incredibly friendly staff in a beautiful classic pub setting

Very welcoming, lovely 15th century inn, lovely food
I would say they need to update their carpets and clean the upstairs ones it would make the whole place look even better

Breakfast was absolutely divine. Room was very nice with exposed wooden beams, and a comfortable bed. Was a great location within walking distance to Greater Missenden village. The Hotel itself had great character.
The furniture in the room seemed out of place for the lovely old exposed beams. Furniture was 1940's style? glass/crystal look which just seemed really out of place. There was noise from the bar below at night time but it was quiet by 11pm so wasn't a major distraction.

Breakfast was overcooked for the traditional English and on my Eggs Hollandaise there was far to much sauce which made it sickly, eggs were also overcooked. Breakfast only served until 9 on a Sunday and checkout by 10.30 which is early.
For £155 the room was small and needed a freshen up. They can ask a premium because there is limited accommodation in that area but in my opinion the room was worth £110 a night.
Could also hear the staff outside the window from about 8am

Breakfast was really excellent quality. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Bed was very comfortable.
Couldn’t find switch for Bedside lights -although there was a separate lamp on a table in the room.

really quaint, pub was excellent

Easy to find; Great location for our needs (visiting family); a pub with real character; good parking; Breakfast was brilliant; Bedroom and bathroom were impressive; bed very comfortable.
Unfortunately, the central heating was on and the pipes knocked, or clicked more accurately, all through the night keeping us awake. We didn't get much sleep!
The internet password described in the folder didn't work nor did the one were given by the staff.
With these problems fixed it would be a great place to stay.

Quaintness, charming & welcoming. Clean, warm and quirky building. Dinner was scrumptious 😋
If I had to be very picky, bathroom mirror light not working and shower needed descaling or probably replacing, tiny fixes that would make it perfect.

Lovely atmosphere and decor. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Yes it's an old country Inn but...
The creaky floorboards in the corridors and rooms kept me awake for ages until all guests had gone to bed!

Rooms are beautiful and stylish
Breakfast on bank holiday Monday 8 to 9 early

Rooms were clean and attractively decorated. Garden View room was a bit bigger. Breakfast and service in the pub was excellent. We had a birthday dinner the night prior and it too was very good. Great traditional English inn/pub atmosphere.
Toilet area of our bathroom was quite narrow! Not a huge deal.

The Tee Pee.
Unless an old property is renovated to a very high degree consuming a very large amount of money it will always disappoint . The Nags Head proves this point.

Cleanliness. Comfortable bed. Lovely building. Some food was excellent. Position and character of the property was lovely. Size of tv in room. Toiletries. Free parking. Good decor. Friendly, polite staff.
Some of the food. Breakfast (only bread on offer was sourdough, had to keep asking for little things like, milk, butter, sugar. You had to request a continental breakfast it was not on offer along with anything cooked). Lack of information in the room. Couldn't use WiFi. A few adjustments could be made to make the stay more user friendly and efficient (better sound proofing between room to bathroom. Hook in bathroom. Needed/s emergency evacuation instructions in room. Quality/quantity of milk was poor. Automatic service charge added to restaurant bill and when paying by card you are/were, in addition asked if you would like to pay a tip.
4.0
The service at breakfast.
The decor of the room and the corridors. The bathroom decor and facilities.
The choice at breakfast.
Housekeeping knocking my door before checkout time. Water from drinks making machine not boiling.

Great location for an event we attended. Good price with breakfast included. Free parking on site. Staff polite. Period features look nice.
Some of the furniture was clearly broken /damaged in our room, which never looks nice. Room was above bar, so was noisy late at night but better once guests had finally gone to bed.
Booking said free wi-fi but no code given upon check in. No sign of one in room either.

Booked a late check in for after our wedding and no one was in when we got there within the pre-agreed time, leaving us stranded at 1am. Said they would look into what happened and get back to us and never did.
