Comfortable outside and lounge sitting areas. Rooms spacious. Food very good. Staff good although a little slow at times.

The decor and the staff
Little noisy in the room some water pipes but nothing serious

The Colonial charm , the friendly staff , delicious breakfasts , all made for a very pleasant experience.
10.0 / 10.0
The breakfasts were varied, individually served and well cooked. The staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly.
We had dinner on several nights and the quality and presentation were faultless: they were great value for money.
Not sure I could find any fault. There wasn’t a lift to the second floor which the elderly would appreciate but I think there were bedrooms on the ground floor. Although parking wasn’t at a premium, the chaos on the gate always managed to find us a spot.

The decor and room great.
The security staff in parking area were super
Thando who greeted us and showed us our room was also great but we never saw her again.
Sadly we felt as if there was absolutely no service and attention to us by the staff. In general just no staff around at all. So we felt as if we were alone in this space and forgotten about. Also, we understand that there have been taxi strikes but there was absolutely no one taking care of us or seeing to our needs. When my partner went to the lounge area last night it was freezing there and she ordered a Ceaser salad and it was honestly the poorest dish she’s ever had. It was absolutely awful. The gentleman at the front desk was rude and dismissive. She ordered a cappuccino with almond milk, but there was no option on milk variances. Then ordered an English breakfast tea to be told there was only five roses and Rooibos only. In the evening there was no one to serve us a drink from the the bar. Nobody to be found most of the time when we needed something. I’ve just tried to order coffee from the kitchen to be told there is no staff there either and it’s 7:18am. It’s very frustrating such poor show of hospitality and we felt like we were staying in an abandoned hotel. most of the time, we are very disappointed in this.

The decor.
The food was very disappointing. The burgers were dry and hard. The breakfast was fantastic.

Location
Cold shower, no hot water
Spa is no longer there
Not able to eat at the main restaurant only for functions

All perfect, nice location for us, we had our own vehicle, nice and quiet with great security.
We would have liked HOT water for a bath in the evening and a shower in the morning. The water temperature at best was luke warm in the morning, which gave a cold shower. The evening there was only cold water and therefore my wife could not have a bath.
This Im afraid spoilt our romantic time there.

A beautiful, small hotel in a great location in Hout Bay. It is really well appointed with beautiful, interesting decor and design features. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food and wine excellent.
Nothing. Everything was perfect. Would stay again.

The heritage building and the very warm and friendly staff.
The fire alarm going off at 4am for 45mins. And the breakfast is below average and rather sad

An unexpected gem, lovely interiors: stylish and period.
Comfortable bed, complimentary water and soft drinks, best pool we've come across in SA.
Great location. We will be back.

Beautiful manor decorated in an unusual arty style with an African twist. Wonderful to sit in the courtyard or around the pool with friends. The food at the restaurant (Eat) is outstanding.
The taps in the bathroom and shower are really old and squeaky.

Breakfast was fantastic, many many options, all of them delicious, the rooms were a good size with everything we needed, had a generator for loadshedding. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend as a great place in Hout Bay
One or two maintenance issues, but overall did not distract from our amazing stay
