if you are looking for a base to explore the region, or just passing though this hotel is ideal.

Spacious room, very clean, comfortable beds, bathroom new and immaculate. Very helpful, friendly owners. Breakfast was good, simple but high quality. Good location in the centre of the old town by the river with east walking access to several good restaurants. Cheap public parking close by.

An enjoyable one night stopover in Verdun…..

The property was very nicely situated and close to the restaurants in the locality. Fabrice and Victor were very helpful with some local advice and steered us towards a nice restaurant for our evening meal.

A warm welcome from charming hosts in this comfortable, centrally located, historic hotel.

Staying here was a lovely experience because of the warm welcome of our hosts, who were charming and helpful, the superb location right in the historic heart of beautiful Verdun, and the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Good quality breakfast with delicious croissants and artisanal bread, served with local jams. The hotel is a minute's walk to the river, with its cafes, the wonderful cathedral, and a few paces from an excellent restaurant serving fantastic traditional home cooking at a modest price. I would definitely return.

I cannot think of any improvements.

Happy to recommend.

Fabrice could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The hotel is well positioned in a quiet side street yet close to the town centre and riverside. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.

Decent accommodation, well placed.

Handily placed for the town centre with restaurants near by. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Good value for money and the staff were exceptionally helpful and managed to accommodate us, given that we turned up on the wrong day.

Whilst my room had A/C my friend's room only had a fan. Slightly tired looking in parts but nothing unacceptable for the price.

A wondeful, very special and very human experience that we will not forget.

The owners of the hotel are the most welcoming and warm-hearted people that you can imagine. They see their hotel as a "human hotel", and that is a very good description. You will get a fuzzy warm feeling the moment you enter the hotel. The rooms are designed tastefully and quite spacious (not big, but you can move around and have not problems to place your luggage). Everything is clean. The breakfast is made with love. If the host has a good day you may find yourself involved in a lively and funny conversation between all guests. Something that we never experienced :) Location is very central and just a few meters away is a good (not too posh) restaurant serving French cuisine.

No elevator, but the host will make sure that you will not even notice this. No parking in front of the hotel, a two minute walk from a large public parking space is necessary (no problem for us).

lovely on narrow old street a few meters from the river front and shopping and restaurants

wonderful small hotel. just 10 rooms. clean and well kept. simple but nice breakfast. gracious, friendly and helpful owner/staff.

We were delighted with everything about our stay...the welcome and the hospitality we received from the hotel owner and staff...the wonderful restaurant Le Clapier that was recommended to us...the City of Verdun itself. We will definitely visit again. (We particularly recommend the hotel if you're a David Bowie fan!!)

Great price, location and service!

Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and courteous. They provided excellent recommendations for dining and further activities in the area. If I visit Verdun again, I will stay here!

Great owners in fine hotel

Very comfy beds. Complete breakfast for a nice start of the day. Viktor and Fabrice are very good hosts, very helpful. They know a lot about the surroundings and places to go. Hotel de Montaulbain is an excellent place to explore the ww1 sites.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, helped me sort out a big issue I had and made it all very easy.

The place to stay in the city center.

Right next to downtown, but on the backside of the main road so very quiet with minimal noise from outside. Decent if basic breakfast. Great service. Recently remodeled, it appears, so everything feels new and comfortable.

Parking is a little ways away (<5 minute walk), but there really is no way around that in a town like Verdun. While there isn't a lot of noise from outside, the walls aren't super insulated, so you can hear your neighbors if they aren't quiet. However, during our stay the guests were all well behaved after settling in, so we had no issues.
