This was our first trip with a baby - we had our 4 month old daughter with us and stayed here for 8 nights. It was truly exceptional. The staff is so thoughtful, kind, generous, gracious, and helpful. Our baby was in love with them all holding her while we got to eat meals. I am forever grateful to the lovely ladies working the front desk and restaurant - they made our trip so wonderful. Speaking of the meals, wow. Breakfast was awesome and has such a great menu that even being there for 8 days, it never got old. We also had dinner and lunch at the restaurant - also so great. The room was perfect and the free laundry service was so helpful with the baby. We even had a pack n play provided by the place to borrow making our travel even easier. We got to surf everyday with the ease of the ocean right down the epic jungle path. We watched monkeys for hours from our balcony, spent afternoons taking our baby in the pool for the first time, and could enjoy air conditioned naps in the hot afternoon. This will be a trip we hold dear forever as it was our first as parents and Olas Verdes will be remembered as the best possible place to spend it. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be back for sure.

Olas Verdes is in the quiet part of Nosara, as close to the beach as you can get, and a short walk to restaurants if you decide to eat off property. The hotel is LEED certified. It strives to be zero waste and the grounds are beautiful. It is a peaceful little oasis and has exactly what you need. Our room was a suite and extremely spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. They left us coffee and juice for the morning and the included breakfast was amazing. All of the staff were wonderful. Their pictures do not do it justice. There are hipper hotels but not nicer hotels in terms of amenities, staff, hospitality, and location. We loved our stay.
We did not have any complaints about the property. The couch in our room was a little tired and uncomfortable but that is about the only bad thing I can say.

Our stay was AMAZING - the staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra special (including a birthday surprise in our room)! Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing hotel. We traveled with our young family and everything exceeded our expectations. Great staff, great food (especially the included a la carts breakfast every morning), great location as close to the beach as possible in Nosara (a short 4 min walk through a mangrove on a trail). We surfed every day and having Safari Surf onsite made things easy to rent boards. Nice bonus was the free laundry service. Great choice of traveling with kids. Will stay again for sure!

We loved the breakfast. So much fun surfing and the walk to the beach through the tropical forest fantastic. The monkeys entertained us every evening.

Great location with a short walk through the jungle to a perfect beach. The restaurant has some of the best food that I've had in Costa Rica. The surf school onsite is top notch with great instructors and a huge selection of surfboards.
We were there in May and it was 97 degrees every day. The bedroom had air conditioning and that was very nice. 05 52

There is so much to like about this property! The staff was wonderful and always on top of meeting all needs, the location felt a bit remote which added a feeling of peace and quiet to our vacation, it was nice to have a restaurant onsite for drinks and meals, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
There wasn't anything I didn't like or that would keep me from coming back, but a few things to mention would be the roads are a bit rough traveling to the hotel, only the bedroom is cooled so the rest of the space can be a bit warm, and the bathroom needs brighter lights for applying makeup.

The property is lush with greenery, flowers and vegetation. The location is amazing, right on the beach. Tranquility and beauty with a low key vibe, not ostentatious, just lovely!
I can't think of anything.

Staff: super helpful.
Breakfast included: always great.
Walking distance to Guiones beach.
They have beach towels.
Water bottle included.
Only negative is that there are not many spaces to lounge around the pool, and not much shade.

Very nice boutique hotel, we had a huge room which is great as we travelled as a family. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I loved the surf school located directly in the hotel, super convenient. We also loved the swimming pool. They even did our laundry for free, so convenient when you are travelling, highly appreciated.
I would love to be back with my family. Thank you Olas Verdes for those few days in paradise !

The staff was super welcoming and gave such a personal touch to our stay. The location by the beach (5 min jungle walk) is great and also very quiet area of Guiones beach - 8-10 min walk from all the shops and Restaurants. this allow a lot of wildlife to be explored within the resort (monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds, etc). The surfing experience is great- excellent surf guides, my kids loved it 😍 Resturant had lots of delicious options and breakfast was great too.
lots of ants in the room : )) couldn’t keep food outside of fridge - it was minor though. price is on the high side but considering it was high season / Xmas break it was ok compare to the area.

The poolside suite (including the terrace) provided for both an enjoyable stay and s relaxing experience. All the staff on the ground which we dealt with were courteous, helpful and always wore a smile so to speak. However, three members of staff went above & beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible; Paulina, Geovanna and Isabell (apologies for incorrect spelling of the names) - We are specifically thankful to Isabell for providing fantastic customer service and an experience that will make us visit the hotel again in the near future. She is truly an asset to the hotel Team.
The dinner at the hotel restaurant during our stay was quite underwhelming, although the daily breakfast choices and their quality was very good.

Beautiful and simple boutique hotel with great service - including laundry on demand - within short walk of great surfing beach. Rooms are large, hot water is plentiful,, pool is open until 9 pm, and sttaff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
Restaurant on-site is convenient and fairly priced, but food is just okay. Surf school was full, but easy to book lessons at surf school across the street - which might be better for kids anyway given the value of their private instructions.

The staff is great. Everyone at the hotel learned my name and made me feel comfortable. The breakfast was good and you could pick something different from the menu everyday. The bed was comfortable as well.
On arrival I was met with a coconut cookie and reusable water bottle in my room. Both were included in my stay. I also used their bikes every day which are complimentary.
The access from the hotel to the beach was so muddy that you were better off just walking the long way to the beach through the public road outside the hotel. Kinda defeats the purpose of booking a hotel with beach access. The public access road was also in really bad state. If you're driving there you should only go on a 4x4. The hotel should let you know beforehand.
Regarding the room, it was good, but for the price and given it's a 4 star hotel I expected more. The bathrooms are dated and need to be renovated. You can also tell this isn't a new hotel from the decor and the state of things. It was still nice, but it isn't luxury.

We loved that the hotel was on the beach. There is a surf school and board rental on the premises.

Great service. Very good breakfast. Dinner (paid) was very high quality and reasonable given location and cuisine quality. Lots of little amenities in kitchenette (free metal water bottles, local coffee, cookies, tea). A lot of wildlife on grounds.
Inconsistent hot water in showers.
Direct path to beach was very muddy. In fairness, it passes through a mangrove swamp and you can walk another route in about 5 minutes, so it’s not a big deal. Also, we saw lots of crabs and fireflies on the muddy path, which was fun.

Would recommend this hotel to all!! Loved that it was on the beach too!! So convenient.

Location and breakfast
Rooms in serious need of an upgrade especially at the current prices. AC is very weak. Our booked and promised first floor room was not provided.
