The farmhouse was in quite a remote location in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I didn't much like the single carriage country roads where several times we encountered oncoming vehicles, but it was definitely worth it when we arrived.
The house is charming and a little old fashioned but it was delightful and very relaxing..We were very warmly welcomed by Will who cooked our delicious breakfast each morning, and a bit later by Lucy too. Will kindly helped with our luggage when we arrived, and took my case upstairs. Each morning we were served our breakfast in a charming dining room which was full of antique furniture, interesting paintings, and had a beautiful old fireplace. The table was set in a very traditional way and it was all so nice. Will told us a little of the history of the house which dates back a very long time, and when asked, recommended a great village pub/restaurant in Hartest close to the village green. where we ate twice.
The vines outside gave some shade across the windows and it was just a bit like being in a very peaceful bygone age. The dogs were very friendly, well behaved and liked to be petted.
Our room was huge, bright and airy and the bed was very comfortable. It was lovely and light with double aspect windows and it led on to a large bathroom/WC with the biggest bath I have ever seen.
If perhaps we could have stayed longer but, unfortunately, we couldn't.
It would have been good to have had a waste bin in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.

Was a lovely property very comfortable room and bed . Hosts were fabulous so incredibly friendly and welcoming .

Lovely quiet location, a very characterful house and friendly hosts.
Breakfast was fair - but eggs were hard and bread was ordinary white sliced.
4.1
It was set in a beautiful location.
The room was tired and dated , dusty on headboard and other areas. toothpaste in basin , bedsheets didn't match , no bottle of water in rooms. There is no lock on the bedroom door. Old used soap in the bathroom. The towels were like cardboard. We definitely didn't think it was worth the money and wouldn't recommend it.

We enjoyed the faded glory of this wonderful house filled with history in a magnificent room with very comfortable bed. It was a pleasure to talk with the owner during a hearty cooked breakfast accompanied by his well behaved old spaniel.
Cleanliness was poor and I had to improvise for bath gel.

Owners said come find us if you need anything but we had to knock repeatedly before they answered, we had been given a tiny jug of just enough fresh milk to last all night, this was our reason for knocking, we were given another small jug, but it was made clear they didnt want to see us again til morning. The sheets hadnt been changed and were dirty, the towels also hadnt been changed and smelt dirty. The owners had dogs which jumped all over me barking and werent told to stop. We ended up leaving without staying and at a time that was already a very stressful situation

The room was clean and the breakfast was good.
I had my worst night ever at this place. First of all, the room didn’t have keys so I didn’t feel safe. Second, the wifi was awful! I had no service there and to be able to use my phone I just had the option to connect the wifi but it was so poor and I could only join it in a corner in the toilet. The last and the biggest problem that I had was the BUGS! The room was covered with bugs and so many on my bed!! They were flying! I killed over 150 of them by myself! It was a disaster! I didn’t stay for my second night and I booked another place and they didn’t refund my money for the night I stayed. They were so unfair and I had the worst night ever with them As I didn’t sleep at all!!

It was a lovely room with an en suite, coffee/tea making facilities, TV and beautiful views. The location is very remote but did what I needed which was to get away and be somewhere quiet so I could focus. Although remote and there wasn't any pubs or shops within close walking distance, Bury St Edmunds was only 15 minute drive away.
The host was great and very welcoming. The breakfast was also very nice with warm crossiants, filter coffee (or pot of tea), fresh orange juice, choice of cereals and a full English. The dining room that ate in was beautiful with some absolutely adorable salt and pepper collection.
Wasn't so much that I didn't like it I just hadn't been prepared for the room to be within the family home. As a result the check in was a little awkward since I hadn't taken any of it in to account and has to ring on arrival to work out in the dark where I needed to go.
I love dogs, but I also didn't remember seeing anywhere so my welcome by one as I came down in the morning was a little of a surprise. They were well behaved though and generally left me alone after the initial hello.

Beautiful house, and a lovely room - all tucked away for peace and privacy. Huge bedroom with cloud-like double bed, and an equally generous en suite bathroom with large tub. Could have stayed for a week!
Nothing to complain about whatsoever. There's even a superb pub a mile away which serves delicious food.

you are staying in the spare room, so be prepared for that

Really nice place and very kind hosts!
Didn't realise that there wasn't a shower, which is probably my fault, but something which I would now expect from staying somewhere now

Carpet in the bathroom and not fruits for breakfast.

Thank you for accommodating our bathroom fitter. He had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again when we are next in the area.

Beautiful location, still private although just one room within B&B. Lovely host, Will, who cooked a cracking fry up each morning for breakfast!
Only a bath as opposed to shower, perhaps a lock on the door would be handy.

The hosts were super friendly and really made us feel welcome. The room was huge with a lovely comfortable bed. The location is gorgeous and so nice and quiet! With some very friendly doggos! And what a great spread at breakfast to top it all off!

The rural location is just so beautiful, very quiet and peaceful. We were made to feel very welcome! The room was fabulous, spacious and comfortable. Thank you so much!

The location was good for us about 7 miles from our destination parking very good for us in a large vehicle, bed very comfortable.
We would have liked a shower.
4.1
Will and Lu were brilliant hosts and very welcoming. Bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The only sound was a chorus of birds tweeting each morning and the dogs greeted us on our return at the end of our days adventure.
We hoped for a shower rather than the bath but knew what to expect as we read the other reviews before hand.
4.1
Beautiful, tranquil double aspect bedroom with a large bathroom. The only sound was bird song and we had a very good night's sleep. Lou and Will are welcoming hosts and they cooked us a delicious hearty farmhouse breakfast. The farmhouse is set in a very pretty part in of the Suffolk countryside with charming villages.
It was all lovely. No negatives.
4.1
Breakfast was really good.
Service was great.
This is a personal thing but wish there had been a shower + there is plenty of room as bathroom was large.
4.1
Stains on bedroom and bathroom carpet and generally shabby. Second morning went down for breakfast and was greeted with a pile of dog excrement on the dining room carpet, we were absolutely horrified. Took nearly 10 minutes to get anyone's attention to point this out and why we wouldn't be having breakfast.
4.1
Excellent breakfast / safe storage for my bicycle
I would have preferred a shower instead of a bath. (A greener option)

Lovely hosts that gave us a very warm welcome. The room was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious! We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
