Location was excellent. Many of the staff were pleasant ( receptionist who greeted us, some of the bar staff)
There was no social area for guests to sit in, apart from the bar or outside. The bar management was chaotic and the main barman seemed to have an attitude problem. He was rude to guests and staff publicly. Our order was noted down, forgotten, then inaccurately served. Special requests not observed. Wine (white) was warm, served about 30 minutes after ordered, and request to have this rectified was not well received. Drinks outside had to be in plastic glasses and we were not allowed to sit inside at 5.30 because the tables had to be kept for dining guests (potential not actual). Food was Ok when we got it. Breakfast offered porridge on request. When I requested it I was told the chef was not in the kitchen at the moment. It took a couple of conversations to persuade our waiter to find him. Porridge once delivered was good though. Seems a shame that a venue that looks so promising should be so badly run in some areas.

Friendly staff, beautiful location, very good atmosphere and tasty pub grub and cooked breakfast. Met all of our needs and nothing was bad.
It was very overpriced (£135 a night when most other places on WHW are around £85/90 and are of a higher quality) and the bar/restaurant seemed quite badly organised. Don’t like being critical as the staff were all really nice but the hotel has the potential to be excellent.

We stayed in one of the cabins. Perfect size for 1 night on our West Highland Way journey. Good location and clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast in the morning was lovely.
No WiFi in the cabin.

Friendly staff
This inn is very well located along the west highland way.
Unfortunately I think it's overprieced. It's more expensive than other places. Yet there were no real spoons for tea in the room, only instant coffee in the morning,... and you could carry on.
Overall, for this price, I would appreciate a little more attention to detail.
And that might have been my bad...
But did they really have no wifi?

Close to Ben Lomond
Shower did not work. Was not told that breakfast was only until 9am--normally breakfast lasts until 11. Staircase was very narrow.

The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful.
The restaurant connected to the hotel is very bad. The staff there seem incapable of running the place and the food was mediocre at best

Great location, great property
We had breakfast and dinner, both very poor.

We got an upgrade to a beautiful and cozy room with view of the loch.

Breakfast was good. A bit of fruit would have made it better.
The burger. It was just a hard prevaricated burger.

We were out in a lodge that exceeded our expectations. They seemed newly renovated and had a lovely towel warmer. It was quiet for a good sleep.
I would suggest better directions to the lodge from the front desk.

Reception staff extremely helpful. Provided dog bowl, extra milk and helped a lot with taxi information. Very bright and enthusiastic.
Dinnner arrived very quickly after ordering.
Room was small and overlooked a dump. No storage space. Badly thought out route to hotel. Hotel was a rabbit warren of rooms. Dining area felt like a youth hostel or barn. Badly thought out. Lots of draughty tables. No atmosphere.
No brown bread or fruit at breakfast. It had run out.
Apart from reception staff were so busy they seemed to have little pride in their work.

Nice rooms, spacious and clean. In walking distance to the lake. Very welcoming and friendly.
The restaurant staff was friendly but really incompetent. We had to ask 2 times for everything (both at dinner and at breakfast) and didnt come to take our orders before we asked them to. Couldnt find out reservation twice. Everything seemed chaotic and random about their service.

Fantastic location and staff were very helpful
Bar was a bit crowded with boat trips whilst we were eating.

The shower was great at the end of a hike.
When booking a room we assumed we would be in the hotel instead we were in a cabin with no wifi. That meant the next morning we had to drag our bags back to the reception to get collected by our bagga company. The dinner was incredibly poor, the wifi slowed down the service for the waiters who are very under staffed. The breakfast missed elements that we had to ask for (cutlery, milk, bowls). We stayed in previous places for half the price with significantly better food and cost.

Great location for walking and access to lake
I would have liked more information on ferry services.

I arrived at the Rowardennan hotel after a very wet West Highland Way day , it was wonderful to have such warm service and a delicious meal . Courtney had kindly arranged for a hairdryer for me which was really thoughtful . The breakfast was also delicious and welcomed ahead of a long 42km hike ! .
I will most definitely return to this wee gem
I can't think of anything I disliked ,a wee bit disorganised at breakfast but it was busy and not a big deal , a wee bit patience required .

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was fine. Great views over Loch Lomond so great location.
Just little things need attention e.g. TV in our room didn't work - not a problem for us but might be for someone else. One of the bedside lights didn't work.

The hotel is excellently placed on the West Highland Way and is a walker’s hotel, so no worries about arriving wet or with dirty boots. They have great processes for getting your luggage delivered by baggage forms and can offer a packed lunch. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
There were big problems with serving food at the hotel. It took ages to get served in the evening and there was a wait of at least 20 minutes once you had ordered breakfast. The staff were lovely and in the evening, gave us a free round of drinks in compensation, without us complaining.

Location right next to Loch Lomond with amazing views from the Beer Garden. Very clean and comfortable, especially considering the age of the building. Nice breakfast and free parking during the stay.
They had some problems with the shower, so I had to take a cold shower after a long day of hiking. It did work later at night again though.

The room was comfortable and warm.
The restaurant is not good, which is a shame. The WiFi wasn't working.

Set in stunning scenery with comfortable and clean accommodation. Our room was a twin bed but easy enough to push the beds together if you are used to a double. Good en suite facilities as well as coffee available and TV but with such views on the doorstep, tv not needed. Good food in the Clansman next door and no noise heard from it once we went to our beds.
We could get WiFi in the Clansman but not in our room.

Great room, fantastic en-suite, the bath was brilliant
