Dated and dusty

Nice sea view. Staff in restaurant were very nice

Overall this hotel is dated and shabby. Some of the rooms have been updated but unfortunately ours wasn't one of them. Our room was dated, dusty, peeling paint and threadbare towels. Older lady at reception was rude and left a bad first impression of the hotel from the moment we set foot in it. Breakfast was one of the worst I've experienced in any hotel. Very little fruit, no fresh orange juice, choice of two cheap cereals and the cooked food wasn't nice. The restaurant was nice for lunch and pizza was very good. Staff in the restaurant were lovely.

Piccola delusione

Ho scelto questo hotel per la Sua posizione e perche essendoci stato già 2 anni fa mi ero trovato molto bene...ma stavolta è andata un'po peggio. Sicuramente servizio dello SPA è molto valido con del personale competente. Piscina e sdrai assolutamente ok.

Avendo visitato lo stesso hotel 2 anni fa, si nota nettamente un "peggioramento gestionale". Non li darei più di 3 stelle...tirate. 4 assolutamente NO. Personale super cordiale come altra volta e fin qui ok. Partiamo dalla colazione - non più di 2 stelle. Mancanza quasi totale del servizio in sala. Per una sala piena di ospiti cera solo 1 ragazza che si faceva in 4 per starci dietro e poveretta non ci riusciva. Angolo tè...assurdo con 4 bustine APERTE dove tutti toccano tutto. SUPER ANTIIGENICO. Acqua temperatura ambiente assente totalmente, disponibile solo quella dal distributore super ghiacciata che per la colazione non è il massimo. Qualità del cibo bassa. La sezione "dolce" della colazione praticamente assente. Passiamo alla camera. voto massimo 2 stelle. pavimento super rovinato, porte rovinate, mancanza delle guide turistiche (ci sono all'ingresso del hotel) , menu del ristorante o altro materiale informativo. Insonorizzazione delle finestre verso esterno inesistente tanto che finche non vanno via ultimi ospiti del ristorante sotto non si riesce dormire. Servizio lascia una scheda di valutazione da compilare alla fine del soggiorno peccato che non ci sono le penne per scrivere. Insomma, un giudizio molto crudele quello che sto dando, ma solo perche Hotel si presenta come 4 stelle e solo perche lo visitato 2 anni fa e era tutto un'altra storia. Hotel ha un'ottima posizione, personale bravissimo, veramente non ci vuole tanto per fare salto di qualità. Arricchire buffe colazioni con 2,3 tipi di Tè, mettere dispenser con acqua temperatura ambiente per colazioni, sistemare reparto "dolce " della colazione.... Poi investendo un po sulle rifiniture delle camere le 4 stelle ci stanno.

Bien situé, bonne literie mais pas le meilleur des hôtels.

Hôtel bien situé, chambre spacieuse. Rideau occultant. Très bons produits douche/shampoing. Piscine. Personnel de ménage sympathique.

Odeur des WC, bruits extérieurs de la route (klaxon, gens qui parlent). Petit déjeuner vraiment pas terrible (jus de fruits horrible, un parfum de confiture pas terrible chaque jour, pas de brioche, pain de mie sec).

Good but disappointing breakfast quality this time.

Been a regular visitor to the Gillieru over the last few years and always enjoy it.

The quality of breakfast seems to be getting worse… in particular the cooked breakfast. The sausages have been changed and are too small now…. They’re not proper sausages, more like cocktail sausages. The scrambled and fried eggs are not cooked very well. Also the ‘fresh’ apple and orange juice is now no longer proper juice… it’s more like really watered down squash. Even the cereal wasn’t very good. When I first started coming to stay the breakfast was brilliant quality and I’ve always been happy to pay for bed and breakfast, however on my last visit I resorted to going to Bugibba square for my breakfast. Even the staff in the hotel said plenty of other regular guests have said the same thing. Please don’t skimp on the quality of breakfast foods as it does make a big difference to the experience. I know the owners have made investments to improve the hotel and they’re doing a great job… but seriously trying to make cut backs in the quality of breakfast food is the wrong way to make savings.

Quattro stelle?

Posizione ottima vicino a imbarco per Gozo, ristoranti e servizi in prossimità. Piscina fronte mare con lettini disponibili e scarsa affluenza. Comodi bollitore in camera con dispenser acqua collocato su due diversi piani. Letti essenziali ma comodi.

Personale "distratto" che parla esclusivamente inglese. Pulizia da migliorare. Manca (ovviamente) il bidet e non c'è flessibile della doccia. Richiesto cambio salvietta bagno consunta con vistoso strappo. Colazione a parte (10€) non all'altezza con succhi artificiali pessimi. Condizionatore che pur spento, partiva in piena notte creando non pochi disagi. Un quattro stelle che merita certamente un intervento che lo riporti ai giusti fasti

OTTOMA SOLUZIONE QUALITA'/PREZZO PER UN WEEKEND

Posizione fantastica sul mare! la baia è molto suggestiva, a 100 metri si trova un bar che offre colazioni salate buonissime ad un prezzo eccezzionale. La reception è aperta h 24 per noi è stato molto utile siccome siamo arrivate all'1 di notte! Lo consiglio vivamente per chi vuole fare soggiorni brevi.

Mi sono dimenticata una t-shirt nella hall una sera. Il mattino dopo non c'era più e la recepionist mi ha detto che non aveva nulla.. poi sicuramente non era colpa sua però non si sono preoccupati molto. Inotre al mattino le addette della pulizia bussano con insistenza già dalle 8:30 del mattino per pulire la camera. Consiglio alla struttura di mettere un cartoncino con su scritto "non distrubare" siccome ci hanno svegliato tre volte. Ultima cosa il copri materasso non aveva gli angoli e di notte si toglieva sempre!

It was a great stay

The room was great full of natural light and with a wonderful sea view, which I truly appreciate it. Had a body scrub and massage at Soul solutions. My therapist and my treatment was absolutely great.

Alloggio buono, con alcuni dettagli da rivedere

Receptionists molto disponibili e preparati. La piscina con vista mare. Kit da bagno rifornito dopo 2 giorni. Acqua in brocca gratis da poter riempire al secondo piano al distributore di fronte all'ascensore. Drink (non alcolico) gratuito al bar esterno sotto all'albergo con vista mare. Posizione comoda per le partenze delle barche se si decide di fare un giro alle isole di Comino e Gozo e vicina alla piazza centrale di st. Paolo.

La colazione un po' limitata, in ogni caso troverete sia dolce che salato. Il personale del ristorante Ostrica Nera, a cui si appoggia la struttura per colazione, pranzo e cena, non è stato molto accogliente. La camera molto bella con vista sul mare, ma i servizi interni non sono da un 4 stelle a mio avviso.

Lovely hotel with great views, in a perfect location.

Private pool and great views. There was fresh drinking water on different floors of the hotel and a fridge in your room. The room was cleaned and beds made very day. Towel change when needed. The hotel is in a quiet part of the bay and it was a short walk along the promenade with bars and restaurants along the way to the main square and aquarium. The hop on hop off bus stop and the boat to Gozo/Comino were just a 5 minute walk away.

The location is fantastic. It has everything you need and if you want to head to where more bars and restaurants are it’s a 10 minute walk.

Would like to return in high season

Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Allowed us to use the facilities before check in time. The cocktails were phenomenal. Booked a street view room and was upgraded (kind of) to a slightly sea view room. Breakfast was tasty and all staff were friendly and helpful.

Felt like our room was one of the smaller rooms. Pool area is high up and exposed to winds, view obstructed by buildings. Lots of loud construction works during the day (assuming time of year). Were not informed of facilities, WiFi, breakfast on check in but was easy to get the information so not a massive gripe.

at the breakfast, there were some demolition working and ut was realy noisy. The pool closes to soon we didnt get the chance of using it. The bed was too hard.

Very good

The view from our room was beautiful. We could park nearby for free. Breakfast was variable and healthy and you have time to have breakfast.

The air conditioner didn't work. Tap water is not recommended for drinking and is difficult to obtain.

A total disappointment 😞😪

The receptionist was helpless . She gave me 2 consecutive rooms with guest already in them . The third room was an absolute mess. It was used previously and it wasn't cleaned before she gave me the room . I had to complain so they came to clean my room . A total disappointment😞

lovely hotel which is being refurbished along a beautiful stretch of sea.

it was super clean all the time which is great. breakfast was included in the price of our stay and there was a decent spread there. there’s a restaurant and bar area too. beautiful view from our room with balcony

we weren’t aware that the restaurant was newly refurbished, we had fireworks going off all of a sudden very late with music going on until 4am which just isn’t ideal when you book a short relaxing trip away from the noise back home. other than that was great.

I would still say it was nice, quiet and clean hotel

location

we had a shower no bath in our sea facing room, toilet has a wired smell comes from the shower hole at night . we had to use air freshener for our stay. shower water doesn’t have enough flow for you to have a quick shower
