About this house rental

Beachfront with large salt water pool!

BEST THING EVER is our family's name for our home on St George Island. Our home has a new salt water pool that can be heated (for an additional fee during certain times of the year). Our home is located in a quiet low density area of the island away from the public beach. We offer pool furniture for lounging, dining and having fun with your family. We have extensively remodeled and redecorated our home throughout - new quartz counter tops and new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, with new furniture and décor. We have a whole house water filter system by Culligan for great tasting water! Our home has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms and expansive covered decks off each level! We have an elevator at each level to make arrival and departure easy. Up the stairs to the first level, you will find 3 generously sized bedrooms. Beach side is a spacious master bedroom and bath with your own private access to the large covered porch. Another beach side bedroom is the guest bedroom with queen bed with private access to the same covered porch. This level also has a fun kids bunk room with 2 bunk beds, rocker and their own private TV/DVD combo. A great spot to give kids their own room to play or lounge while watching movies. The guest bedroom and kids bunk room share a large hall bathroom, with new quartz counter tops, updated plumbing and lighting fixtures and a nice sized tub shower combo. The laundry room is conveniently located on this level with a washer and dryer.

The second level is an open concept living room/dining room and kitchen with floor to ceiling windows for amazing views of the gulf. From this level, you can see the sugar white sand beach and stunning gulf views. New sectional sofa and club chairs along with unique beach decorative accessories, new large flat screen TV, mounted to swivel for easy viewing of movies or sports games. The updated kitchen has new quartz counter tops and all new stainless steel appliances. The formal dining area has large dining table with seating for 8, and the kitchen island has 4 bar stools. This great room is ideal for large family groups and is the perfect gathering spot for your family. Just off the great room is a bedroom with a large king bed and a full bathroom with new quartz counter tops and updated plumbing and lighting fixtures. This bathroom is shared with the great room.

Last but not least is the large expansive covered porches, making for the perfect outdoor space to take in stunning sunsets and incredible starry nights. The deck has a large outdoor table for alfresco dining along with Adirondack chairs for enjoying beverages and a book. Our home has a boardwalk to the beach for easy and quick access. Our home is located between the beach and the bike path for easy access to all the fun amenities that St George Island has to offer.

We know that when you leave our home, you will say, this was the BEST THING EVER!

BEDS: 2 Kings, 1 Queen, 2 bunk beds (maximum of 10 people no matter the age)

AMENITIES: Whole house water filter system by Culligan for great tasting water, large salt water pool (heated for an additional fee during fall and spring months). Multiple TVS, DVD player, tile floors in living, kitchen and dining rooms, carpet in bedrooms, well equipped kitchen with quartz counter tops and stainless steel appliances, large covered porches on both levels, outdoor shower, gas grill, under house concrete parking, covered ground level entry, shared boardwalk to beach. There is an elevator on each floor.

This property was beautiful and the proximity to the beach was absolutely perfect. The pool was comfortable and so much fun! The house has basically everything you could want other than beach towels but that was indicated in the listing so we had ours :). The kitchen has pretty much everything you could want in terms of appliances too! The overall cleanliness was pretty good however, the bathrooms needed a little more TLC for cleaning in my opinion. We did have some sanitizer wipes and cleaned the toilets and tubs ourselves as we had small children that would be taking a bath and felt it was necessary. Another great thing was the communication. We had a minor issue with the grill that we were able to figure out but the owner got back to us almost immediately which is so helpful when you’re in someone else’s house. Overall I give this property a 5/5, it was lovely!

This property is amazing! The views are beautiful and the pool was fantastic. We had a fantastic trip and are looking forward to coming again. The owner was great to deal with and very responsive. Highly recommend.

This was our second time to visit St. George Island, and Allyson‘s home did not disappoint! The house was extremely clean, and the location was 10/10! I love that the house was only a short walk down our personal boardwalk to the beach. The pool was fantastic, and the kids loved playing in it all week. They loved the bunk room, toys, DVDs, and all the sand toys outside! Allyson was very responsive and available to answer any questions we had. I truly don’t think we could have enjoyed our week at St. George Island an ymore! Thanks for sharing your home with us 💗

This house proved to live up to it’s name. It was an excellent property for our intentions which were to have an enjoyable beach vacation, cook local food, sit back and enjoy the ocean view and enjoy St. George Island. The house was well stocked with everything you would need for a great beach vacation. I’m not sure you can beat it on St. George. I will definitely stay again!

The house was great, and the location was perfect. Having the nice size pool was great as well. The beach wasn’t crowded. We were also able to cook all our meals at the house. Our whole crew enjoyed watching dolphins from the back porch and loved every minute at the beach!

This home is beautiful and the location was PERFECT. My mother-in-law took her three sons, her three daughter-in-laws and all four grandkids and there was plenty of room for us all. The home is just as described. We loved the private pool and the quick walk to the beach via the boardwalk. The living room, dining room and kitchen allowed enough space for us all to gather for meals, games, cocktails and space to play for all the kids. We utilized the covered decks with their beautiful view every day and several times a day. Several restaurants (offering dine in and take out), numerous souvenir shops, two ice creameries and two grocery stores were available on the island. The owner was always extremely responsive to questions before we booked, before we arrived and during our stay. The home, pool and beach were perfection. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

It was our first trip to SGI and we loved it. The house made it even more enjoyable. The top porch was perfect for families with kids; no exit from the very top which made it easy to watch the kids. Multiple points of entry and exit made it easy to get out and not disturb other parties. We also enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and gas grill. Would highly recommend this to families with small children as you could spend the morning at the beach then relax poolside while kids napped. The speed queen washer and dryer in the unit was an extra added bonus!!

Awesome beach house!

My family wanted a house with no crowds, fun restaurants, a private pool, and a beachfront view and private beach access. This place was exactly that. The owners were very responsive to our questions. They had the inside super clean, and the pool was pre heated. The living room upstairs was bright and cheery with games and an incredible view of the ocean (and the dolphins and diving gulls). The stars at night we’re super bright. It was as advertised. I would like to thank the owner for sharing this property with my family. Outside of my teenagers having their moments of irrationality, the trip could not have gone better.

We had a great stay. The house is nicely updated. Beds are comfortable. Location and view are fabulous. We were not able to use the pool as we were notified that the ambient temperature was too cold for heating it. We did take long walks on the beach, cook and relax. Owner was responsive and very accommodating in helping us retrieve our son's wallet.

We paid the same price for a house in St Petersburg but had a golf cart, fishing poles, private pool, & more towels & linens for our use. The pool is being put in put watching the crew it will be a long time to get it in, they got very little done in the 3 days we were there.

Best Thing Ever was the perfect house for us. We've stayed in several beach houses over the years and this is one of the best ones. What we liked most was the attention to detail. Kitchen well equipped. Lots of games. Great view of the ocean. Quiet area. Easy to find. The elevator was very handy in getting luggage from the ground level to the third floor. You cannot go wrong in renting this house.

The house was just as beautiful as the pictures indicate. Everything in working order and spotless. Great beach access. Sugar sand beaches. Beautiful state park...don’t miss it. We had a girls retreat and all went back home rested and refreshed. The rental agent and owner both responded quickly to any questions we had.
