Buns in the Sun has something for everyone! Enjoy every sunrise and sunset over the Gulf of Mexico from this newly refreshed home that sits directly on the beautiful beach of St. George Island.
This pet-friendly home sleeps 10 people comfortably. The king bedroom with en suite bathroom has beautiful views with direct access to the deck overlooking the beach. This bedroom also has a through-wall AC unit in addition to the new whole house central air. Wake up to the view of the bright gulf side queen bedroom with access to the rear wrap around deck. The other queen bedroom looks out toward the beach and the beautifully landscaped front yard.
The kids will enjoy the downstairs level with it's own separate entry. This LOWER SPACE IS ACCESSED SEPARATELY FROM THE UPSTAIRS through two private doors, one at the front of the house and one through the car port. There are two single over double bunk beds with en suite bathroom off the game room with large 50" screen smart TV, stereo, ping pong and Foosball tables.
The open concept kitchen, living and dining rooms can be enjoyed by the whole family. The fun, whimsical decore will put a smile an everyone's face. The new sofa folds out into a queen size bed if extra sleeping space is needed. Walk out onto the sunroom to sit with your morning coffee or afternoon drinks on the back deck while watching the waves lap against the shore and the dolphins swimming by just steps away. The living room, dining room, kitchen and air-conditioned sunroom are all wired with a blue tooth receiver and Boos speakers for your listening enjoyment of all your favorite music from Pandora or Spotify.
There is a ramp on the west side of the house from the car port to the first level for those needing assistance with mobility.
The 6 person hot tub sits on the back deck and there is nothing better than relaxing in the water and looking up at the stunning milky way at night. PLEASE NOTE: There are two exterior security cameras. One covers the hot tub and the entire east end of the home and the other covers the west end and street side of the home. They are used solely for safety and security monitoring of the exterior of the house.
We provide one set of bath towels/person, beach towels, dishwashing detergent, dish soap, liquid hand soap, bar soap, garbage bags and laundry detergent. We supply beginning rolls of toilet paper and paper towels.

HURRICANE/TRIP INSURANCE:
We just want to take a brief second and remind renters that are looking to book in the summer and fall months, that they NEED to make sure they have trip insurance for hurricane coverage since hurricane season begins June 1 - November 30. DO NOT risk the $$ investment in your vacation investment if we do have a hurricane evacuation. We also follow our strict cancellation policy in case of medical emergencies that occur after you book. Make sure you are covered for any reasons you may need to cancel within the 60 day window. Make sure you read your policies and know what you are buying. Trip Insurance to cover this during this time period is ESSENTIAL, and worth the piece of mind, knowing that you are covered.

Our last couple of SGI stays were disappointing. The last one was so bad (through a local rental group) that we vowed to never return. Thank heavens for Buns in the Sun and VRBO! It was perfect. The lay out of the house, kitchen utensils, sun porch, hot tub, location, cleanliness and upkeep. Painting was immaculate. Loved it. We'll be back for sure.

We enjoyed the island experience. The stay was relaxed and everything we hoped for aside from an early visit from Hurricane Debby which created a brief evacuation. Regardless, many happy memories were created. The only thing missing was a golf cart, but that was easily remedied by the many helpful island vendors.

The house is magnificent. very clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated. The location is right on the beach - it couldn't be better. Sunroom is a place of power - we shaved off the heat there and at the same time retained the opportunity to admire the splendor of the gulf, dolphins, pelicans, etc. The weather and the moon were favorable to us, and we were able to see the Milky Way. And last but not least, the owners are very attentive and kind, they really care about their clients. We will definitely come back here.

We liked the home ,the location etc. There are some major issues with the home is why I would not rent it again. Your bathrooms need remodeling .Toilets are from the 70's and I am in great shape but I felt like I was sitting on a toilet from a kindergarten. We had to spend $100 on a riser for my 91 year old father in-law that gets around really well. The master bath tub/shower is dangerous. whoever built that step to get in the tub made the problem getting in the tub even worse. My father in law could only take a sponge bath while we were there due to no walk in showers and no safety grab bars. You need at least one walk-in shower in the house.

Our priorities for a SGI rental: 1. Location 2. Space/size 3. Decor On the first two counts, this property is 5 star. It’s right on the beach and there’s nothing like flirting from the house to the beach. Magic! The house has three bedrooms on the main level surrounding a spacious common area with kitchen/dining. We did puzzles, played games, hung out: The space fit us well. Additionally, we cook a fair amount when on St George and the kitchen is sufficiently appointed to do so. On the third count of decor we have to take away a star or three. This house is strange because while the space/bones of the house are good (a bit dated, nbd) and the furnishings are even nice-ish, the decor on the walls and knick knacks in the main room are wildly over the top! Gimmicky, beach-theme decor actually drips from the ceiling. The bedrooms are free from this treatment. If this property just removed 3/4th of the extraneous decor from the main room the rental would be lovely. It’s odd that it’s the removal of something that would improve this property drastically. I’m not fancy, but this was beyond. About the downstairs: this space is fun! TV, ping pong, foosball, bunk beds. My kids (10,11) wanted to sleep down there alone. I was fine with it until bedtime, when I was literally locking them into the separate space and realized I wouldn’t hear even the loudest cry for help. Something to consider. The deck needs some structural maintenance. The owners were very responsive!

Perfect for our family. Great layout and fully stocked. We enjoyed having all major amenities on one floor and loved the beachfront hot tub. The ramp came in handy for my older mother and the downstairs entertainment was great for ping pong.

The house was perfectly suited for a bunch of guys chilling on the beach and enjoying the sleepy island. The game room made for great fun after the bars closed and the hot tub made for a good backup when we weren’t feeling the brush of the waves. 10 out of 10!

I broke my hip 3 hours after we arrived and spent the rest of the time in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The family shared pictures they made of the children who appeared to have a great time.

If your sole concern is location and views this property would be perfect for you. The location on the beach is absolutely amazing and the views are amazing. The property is lacking in terms of cleanliness and upgrades needed. During our stay we took pictures of many roaches between the kitchen area and the laundry area and I did inform the property manager they should spray. We like to vacation in places that are nicer than our home and this one didn’t hit that mark. Very old and uncomfortable furniture and the house was definitely not sparkling clean it needs a good deep cleaning. Kitchen cabinets and drawers definitely haven’t been cleaned In a while in the inside So again so much potential and amazing views but we would definitely look for a nicer home next time. Also make sure to bring your own beach chairs and tent or umbrella whatever you like to have on the beach.

Very nice property with all amenities needed. Right on the beach! Very quiet and relaxing. Only thing to note is you have to go outside to get to the bottom floor with outside stairs. No inside access. Not a problem for us but thought I’d note for anyone else. Checkin was a breeze and we had no issues while we were there.

We had an amazing vacation with family! The house was everything we hoped for! We saw dolphins, a shark, jellyfish, crabs and collected many shells! We had a game room in the basement, amazing stove and left with clean laundry! Jody is a great host who was available at all times and willing to come by and assist if it were needed! Definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for the memories ❤️

I loved the property and location. I had a lot of trouble with the WiFi and was never able to watch TV in 2 of the bedroom, finally got the TV in the living room to work with cable, I never tried the basement TV. There was a mix up with the password and a slow response from the manager until I finally understood what and how to log in. Still didn't fix the TV streaming. All TV appear to be using Roku for streaming but could never get it to log on to the internet. Need much better instructions on how to make the TV's work. It was super bowl weekend after all. Second concern was the hot tub. It was great and wonderful but we spent a couple hours trying to figure out why we couldn't turn off the jets and or why they wouldn't off. Finally just gave up and let Chucky run the hot tub. I think the control panel may be going flaky. The cover is a big pain and has to be strapped down with cargo straps that are just barely big enough for the job. Getting the showers to work took some time. There is a small thing around the tub spout that pulls down. Who knew? Like I said I loved the place. The deck is great, love the ramp instead of having to steps each time. It right on the beach. The kitchen is well appointed. Great towels and linens.

This was the most AMAZING stay we have had in a looonngg time. Buns In The Sun was just that. We spent the majority of our time in the Sun even though it was a lil chilly outside we could not help ourselves. The house was beautiful and well stocked with everything you need. The property manager Jody was great. She was at our beckoning call. Even helped us with things she didn't have to. To sum it up we will visit again without hesitation. Oh the hot tub on the deck was PRICELESS. A proud VRBO renter Michelle PS Jody your the best :)

The only thing we had a little problem with was the stopper in the guest bathroom. I went to Family Dollar and purchased a rubber stopper to hold water in tub for kids bath’s. Not a big issue, but you might want to have someone check it out. We enjoyed our stay and are considering it for next year about the same time.

Loved everything about the house. Rented a golf cart and never had to use our car to go out to dinner and bars. Only thing i would change is to put a keurig coffee maker. House was super cold. We enjoyed our stay (and we have stayed in many rentals on St George) - the house had a good floor plan and plenty of amenities and nice touches (thanks for the use of beach towels!). We had thought of using the lower level bunk room for kids so they could have their own space (and access to the game tables) but that space was very very musty. I alerted the house manager to that issue so it may improve, but I would be cautious about using it as a sleeping area (esp if your kids have asthma). We did not need all the beds though so we were fine with only using the main floor bedrooms. Overall a very nice stay!

The location is fabulous, right on the beach and we loved the sunroom to experience the ocean/moon/stars after dark & in the morning to avoid the bugs. Beach towels being provided are a great touch and the kitchen was well equipped. The lower level was perfect area for the teenagers to stay, we now are in the market for a ping pong table. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was awesome, especially at night to look at all the stars. Look forward to getting back at some point.
