Location was picturesque. Pool was large, warm and private. Having enclosed gardens made it child- friendly. Bedrooms good size. Kitchen fully equipped.
Nothing.

we loved the location, the cottages were clean & well equipped
no bedroom on ground floor we had my father with us who had limited mobility but he was fine, just something to consider when booking (I didn’t consider it)

Location was very good as family came from different parts of the country. Nice to be close to walks & swimming pool was very good as weather was very changeable.
if we could have eaten together outside but weather wasnt nice enough. A bit of a struggle with only one toilet.
good job the swimming pool one was there.

Everything was perfect

Amazing location for the cottage and the facilities were amazing! every single room was set out perfectly and it was really good having the cottages right next to each other so we could go between the two as there was 2 sets of family there, swimming pool was absolutely amazing the water was the right temperature and everything was spotless!
Generally can’t say anything bad about this property, only thing is the walk from the swimming pool was cold and open as you have to walk out the front but would defo recommend a gate through to the back garden of the cottage so it’s a bit easier but other than that we couldn’t fault this place it’s amazing, will definitely be returning next year

I booked both of the cottages for a yoga retreat for my students.
The location was absolutely beautiful. We were so very lucky to have gorgeous weather so was able to do most of the events outside in the back garden and I booked both of the cottages so we had the indoor pool to ourselves which was big enough to fit all of us in for one of the occasions that it was spitting so we all went inside there with our yoga mats.
The pool was a great size and everyone loved being able to use it in between the classes.
The beds were super comfy and all rooms were bright and airy.
Luckily the Wether was extremely kind to us all when we were there so we were able to all eat together for most of the meals in the garden and our hot water went off one evening but was sorted very fast when I made Sophie aware of this.
We were left in privacy for our stay there but Sophie was always at hand if anything was needed and checked in with us to see if everything was ok.
As this was a yoga retreat I wanted to keep all of my students together to eat at mealtimes from both of the cottages. The odd occasion that the weather did not permit us to eat outside in the garden is was a little cramped to keep us all together inside in one of the properties to eat together and also although the kitchen provided every utensil that you could ever want or need, the space was limited for preparing meals for the group in both cottages.

the property was in a lovely setting and there were plenty bedrooms with choices of double or single beds
a trek to walk in to the village, only one toilet/ bathroom in each property and it was upstairs

For a large family group it was great to have interconnecting cottages, especially as it rained most of the time we were there.
Also the swimming pool was a definite plus, clean and a comfortable temperature.
For rural cottages in the Peak District they are well appointed, clean and warm. Good garden and great walking with fabulous scenery.
Nothing.

When arrive. Walked dog poo into cottage. It
smelled very dirty. Bedroom found a used beer can in draw. So not cleaned good. Too much stuff in in kitchen cupboards no room for our food. Only 1 bathroom to 8 x persons?
Pool need to be warmer.

Welcome parcel was lovely and the place was really well set out. The pool was lovely - clean and warm - although small we really enjoyed it. Beautiful place

Very nice cottage in beautiful location. The adjacent identical cottages were shared by our family - 6 adults, 8 children one baby, and clever use of available space provided adequate accommodation for all of us with very comfortable beds. The pool is lovely and a huge bonus. Glorious walks on the doorstep. Outdoor areas at the front and rear were good.
The living / kitchen area was relatively small to accommodate these numbers, as was one bathroom / toilet in each cottage. An additional shower and toilet are in the pool area though.

What a lovely cottage, we stayed in Birch cottage, there were 4 adults and 2 dogs. There was plenty of room for us all. The two large bedrooms are perfect with plenty of room and super comfy beds! The kitchen has everything you need to cook a decent meal and a large table to eat at. We had a BBQ while we were there and made good use of the garden space. We all used the pool which was great after a days walking, the pool is lovely, warm and well kept. A great addition to the cottages. you cannot fault the cottages or the locaion.
All perfect for us

Great place to stay with kids or groups. Private pool use which was a luxury and it is next to a walkers footpath which enabled us to have daily walks up the hill and around the farm. Plenty of animals around for kids to enjoy. Cottage itself is good and kitchen well equipped . Large garden which kids enjoyed and an outdoor BBQ .Will definitely stay again. A car is good to have to visit the neighbouring towns which are beautiful. Check in and out was fast and easy too.
Maybe basic things like oil, salt and pepper in the kitchen would have been better. One toilet roll and 1 bin bag for a house that can have 8 guests is not enough. Also no soap or shower gel in bathrooms, only hand wash provided. If someone doesn't have a car or coming by public transport it can be difficult to walk to supermarket to get those basic amenities. But apart from these, everything is great.
