Great apartment in an ideal location. Easy to park with owners parking permit. Comfy beds and sofa. Would stay at this location again.

Lovely large airy apartment, good sized accommodation with all you need for a short trip away. Milk provided for the essential first cuppa, and everything else is at your fingertips. Buxton is brilliant for shopping and entertainment. We will be back again
Inevitable in these old properties, stairs plentiful and steep, not difficult and handrails are provided, just be prepared for the many steps outside and within the apartment.

The location was fantastic
it was cold at times due to the timer on the heating so it was cold at the wrong time

Good size and location at an excellent price, functional space with pretty much everything you need for your stay. A no-frills basic apartment that serves it purpose. Easy parking and had no problems checking in.
Could be cleaner (used sanitory towel left in bathroom bin bag, some pots & pans still greasy, oven cleaner residue made food taste bad during cooking) but overall fine.
Parking permit missing and not contacted back about it.

great location right in town
the flat just feels dingy - old and uncared for, peeling paint and things that don’t work properly. tiny mini fridge, not very useful if you were using it to cook for a family.

Location is excellent.
Door key is not working properly. Steepness of the stairs too and inside. Stained carpets and bedding. No fire extinguisher. House of multiple occupancy? Registered? No wardrobes. Campervan fridge. No heating. Got the heating on twice for about 15min's. Dusty(Very). All of the comments I have made, Have all been made previously over the last four years and have not been remedied. The bathroom is particularly bad. Grouting around the bath and the toilet is very poor. It's a shame because it could be such a nice place. Location is great, The property is grotty.

The flat was well equipped and in an ideal location. Lots of space and creative decor.
There was a steep flight of steps up to the outer door, OK for us but anyone with mobility issues might struggle. Lots more stairs inside. The bell tower on the Town Hall chimes every half hour. Can be disturbing at night.

The flat is located very close to the centre of Buxton, and is quite spacious and nicely decorated, and flowers were a pleasing touch. It was also quiet (though the town hall clock striking every half hour necessitated ear plugs!) The beds were comfortable, with pleasant bed linen, and the bathroom fitted with a bath and decent shower, and some nice toiletries. The provision of a car parking voucher so that the town hall car park (only 100 yards or so away) could be used was much appreciated.
There were some issues.
There are no wardrobes, so for a six day stay, we had to hang our clothes on hooks in a beam in the middle of the attic bedroom. The velux windows in the roof of bedroom have roller blinds, but these are in poor condition and very difficult to keep closed, so that summer light comes through very early. Even when we managed to keep the blinds down, there is a skylight over the staircase that has no blind, so always lets in the light.
There is only one hook in the bathroom (by the sink) and no towel rail. Towels had to be draped wherever possible, and never really dried, so after six days had become rather odorous, as there are no facilities for washing them, and only one per person per stay. There is also no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, so the one hook was used to hang a toilet bag, and toothbrushes and paste and other items just balanced on the edge of the basin or bath.
The kitchen has a very small (table top) fridge. This has a small freezer compartment, the door of which had been removed (broken? We found it but the hinge was damaged, and irreparable. We put it into a drawer). On our arrival, we found the freezer heavily iced up, and the fridge making a (quite loud) bubbling sound, so we worried that it might be overworking, and the fridge might overheat. We turned it down (not off!) and the freezer defrosted. We turned it up, but the bubbling continued, and the freezer compartment was quickly over-iced. There seems to be no happy medium. There appears to be no happy medium - either the fridge defrosts or ice builds up rapidly.
Apart from a bread knife, there are no kitchen knives. The dining cutlery is plentiful, but not suitable for food preparation.
The overall level of cleanliness could have been higher. Whilst not dirty, there was quite a lot of dust on skirting boards and ledges, and we found a frying pan caked in baked on grease, which was unusable.

The second bedroom was cramped for two.

Very convenient location, near buses, restuarants, shops. Large property, comfortable bed. Plentiful supplies eg loo paper
few things could do with attention - kettle didn't pour properly, blind broken in bedroom. Would prefer a larger bed but OK

I found the location quite central to the local amenities.
We experienced issues with the central heating, we did contact the host and she turned up the boiler pressure but she did not stick around long enough to see if turning up the boiler pressure would rectify the heating issue.. Apparently, a new boiler had been fitted in the flat and she by her own admission was not all too familiar with the settings. She explained that the heating was preset by the 'plumber' on some eco mode setting, so we had to wait a further 2 hours and wait to see if things improved.. In the end, the heating did not turn on and in am utter state of disillusionment we went to bed in a very cold, merciless flat. The following day, I messaged the host (Christmas day) and I apologised about inconveniencing her when she arrived, but much to my incredulity was met with a bitterly cold response from her together with a frantic nodding of the head and the words 'its not great' drilled into me. I found this to be a most uncomfortable exchange as she pottered on rather robotically ( no apology or warmth in her manner) in rectifying the thermostat settings. I could not believe how lacking in warmth or congeniality the host was, here we were, we had paid for an accomodation in good faith and this host was basically telling us (through her actions) to shut up and put up. It is fair to say, the whole exchange put a total dampener on the stay. Luckily, she did resolve the issue but the place quickly took on a very arid and hostile ambience, that we found most unsettling.
We were very happy by the end to leave the flat and rather uncannily it helped deepen our appreciation for the wonderful home we have.
If you'd like to stay at a place that will bring you a little cheeriness, whilst exploring the beauty of the peaks, this place certainly is not it.
